filled with glitz, glamour, and controversy. plus body cam video showing the violent arrest of a shoplifter is sparking controversy tonight. did police go too far? and, a shooting in pahrump takes another twist tonight. man deputies say the mother of a girl.. who was shot at several times by her boyfriend.. has now been arrested for conspiracy. 13 action news reporter.... gina lazara spoke to one of the family members... tonight. look live: this all started friday afternoon. when 21 year old cody barnes decided he didn't want his underage girlfriend to move out of the house. the younger sister tells me -- cody decided it was a good idea to shoot the tires of his girlfriends car so she couldn't drive away. and what we're learning tonight mom told cody it was a good idea. police say the 21-year old fired multiple rounds before the girlfriend and another guy were able to drive away... cody followed them and shot his gun more times. cody was eventually arrested in california for attempted murder. the girlfriends mom -- 42 year old kristy finnegan was arrested for conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly charges. we went to the nye county jail to talk to her today but she never came to the monitor to interview. finnegan's younger daughter tells 13 action news - her mom made a poor decision but it was with good intentions to keep her daughter from leaving town. the younger sister also tells me cody is generally a nice guy but hes jealous and that is shoot his gun. lazara 13 action news right now.. police are looking for the gunman.... accused of killing a woman.... near decatur and hayes. police say.. the suspect pulled up to the intersection.... early this morning and fired at the victim's car... multiple times. metro says... the victims may have known.... who fired the shots. portions of decatur were shut as police investigated. a second person was in the car... but... is okay. a valley apartment complex goes up in flames for the second time in just months. investigators tell 13 action news it was likely started by squatters... and its the second time this year. 13 action news reporter mahsa saeidi is live near vegas valley and maryland parkway. mahsa.. a neighbor tells me behind these boards a family lived! they paid rent but guess who didnt? everybody that lived around them!!! neighbors believe the people who lived here here and here were squatters! i think it's a huge safety concern becuase theres a lot of ppl with kids here (track) kids living amongst squatters for the second time this year...this building went up in flames! tonight investigators saying they believe this fire like the last one was sparked cook or stay warm! this neighbor says at least one family! who payed rent and lived on the bottom floor is now homeless. people who live here say the problem is out of control!
