Bridget, lets get the headline first. You started off with the help of lauren, where are you . Just a few months ago. So where are you today . We were able to do an emergency fund. We have 1,500 h in our emergency fund. Then paid off our first 1,000 in one month. In three months. But also i want to take note that she was also behind in her mortgage by a few months. So she caught up to the mortgage. She put 1,500 in the Emergency Savings account. Im just so proud of you. The shoes and vacations and all of that no. And my kids are better at it now, too. They know what weve done. Im very proud of them. You know better than anyone, you were so deeply in debt, it took you six years to get out. What were the first things you advised bridget to do zp. So in my book i talk about a 12step process of how to get out of debt and redefine your life with your money. So some of the steps that i talked about that you really need to learn how to declutter ive been on here many times talking about decluttering, but how do you do that and also putt money aside. Also taking an inventory of your spending. Know where your money is going. Thats was one of her downfalls. You werent buying big things. What were you doing . Not budgeting so using our atm. Took out 100, and 100. And didnt track any of where instead of putting back for budgeting, we are catching up. A lot of us are guilty of this. Why are the big whys . Had. Focusing on the short term what i want now as opposed to long term, what makes sense. A lot of times when people feel stressed they go too food. Some go to shopping. It helps bring down the stress temporarily. But in the long term it increases your stress which then makes it more likely that youre going to overspend and perpetuate this cycle. It is a vicious cycle. It is, yeah. You can see the stress disappearing. We were watching you watch the piece and you were so emotional because you were back in that space. But how does it feel to know that youre kind of climbing out now . One of the things i said on the video was i can see feel a little bit of peace. So it gives you that momentum. You feel hope. You see it is going to take a while but this is working. From when i first started working with her back in may to i did a documentary with her family.
