hello and thanks for good evening, even. first on fox, two popular bars robbed at gunpoint. the robberies happening about an hour apart last night. >> they are no it that far apart and they cater to community. >> reporter: marc and john, police have not confirmed this to us but people who were here during the armed robberies tell us the suspect in this case was using a rifle. now, luckily nobody was hurt but the person or persons responsible for the armed robberies still on the loose tonight. phoenix police responded to pat o''s bunk house around 9:30 last night for a reported armed getting out of their car in the parking lot. the victim said one of the men was armed. the suspects took one of the victim's cellphone. an hour later, police responded to a similar robbery near indian school and 16th street. victims told police two men entered the patio area demanding money and cellphones. one of the suspects in this case was also armed. police say a is no indication that the bars were targeted because they cater to the lbgt community. >> absolutely targeted. i don't know why. i don't know if they are trying to prove a point or what it is but two gay bars on the same night on a tuesday night, we feel targeted. >> reporter: the armed robberies have been the topic of conversation putting people on high alert. because of pulse. >> reporter: because of the recent events, if the armed robberies did not happen at the bar she works at, she tells us safety precautions have been put in place. no bartender will be closing the barbie themselves until further notifications on that. as of now, police are asking anybody with information on any of these incidents to call reporting live, danielle miller, fox 10 news. a little boy dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. he is just 5 years old. the boy lived in avondale and the boy was home with his mother and two other siblings when he rooms inside the house that is when the mother heard the gunshot and ran into the room and found a gunshot wound to his head. nobody else was in the room at the time. the boy was rushed to the hospital where he died. >> i've a 5-year-old son that plays with him and just rushing home to know it was my neighbor's son, it was heartbreaking. >> police say the gun belonged to the boy's father who was not at home at the time. at this point, no been filed. officially, there are two days left of monsoon 2016 and tonight, some storms are firing up across the state. sky fox was out tracking rain earlier tonight as it flew back to base in scottsdale. >> definitely got rain tonight when watch your kids around water. we'll have more coming up. happening now, people are protesting in the streets of el cajon, california, over a fatal police happened yesterday. it is taking place outside of the el cajon police station. a refugee from uganda was shot dead after police responded to a mentally ill person in the streets. >> some are saying the man refused to con ply with instructions from police to withdraw his hands from his pockets and some describe as a shooting stance. reported that her brother was acting strangely but made it clear that he had mental illness. >> in the wake of recent police shootings, a controversial activist in the valley is putting up billboards to spread a message of nonviolence between police and the community. reverends jarrett maupin posting these billboards hash tag our choices violence. these have been placed in areas he calls hotbeds in the area. >> the billboard is not going to help the problem. >> hopefully, it will bring awareness that the policeman are doing what they need to do and the black people needed to be treated with respect. >> there are 15 of these billboards and they are expected to be put up by friday. now to the latest shooting carolina. two students and a teacher shot by a teenage gunman who shot and killed his father before going to school and opening fire. investigators are trying to figure out what prompted this violence. >> i received a call from my son's mother telling us they thought there was an active shooter in the school. my mind started running and i got here as fast as i could. >> reporter: around 1:45 wednesday, a teenager walked into the school campus with a hand gun and shot two male elementary students as well as a female teacher. one student was shot in the foot, the other in his leg and the teacher in her shoulder. the teacher and one student were treated and released from an area hospital but the other injured student was hospitalized in serious condition. the teen suspect shot and killed his 47-year-old father at his home two miles from the school. the school is in rural townville, southwest of state line. >> the quick response by the principal, teachers, and staff kept this horrific tragedy from being worse. >> reporter: the teen was arrested within minutes of the shooting. he was called a minor saying he was being home schooled. >> he pulled into the parking lot and got out of the vehicle firing immediately. we feel at this point in time, this was an individual shooter and there is no other connection with other shooters that w should be looking for. >> reporter: a veteran volunteer firefighter helped take the teen into custody. all other students at the school were safe and eventually bussed to an area church and reunited with family. >> this is going to be slow, methodical and meticulous investigation. >> the teen was never able to get inside the school building. maricopa county sheriff thousands of dollars in marijuana and hash in this business, as well as $34,000 in cash, six cars, five handguns and $250,000 in cultivating equipment also seized. the operation did not have proper licensing and the method used to cultivate the drugs is dangerous. matthew bloom and another man were arrested during the bust and they are facing money laundering, conspiracy, and other drug charges. border protection says they found six pounds of heroin in a man's suitcase crossing the boarder. the 25-year-old man now in the custody of immigration and customs enforcement. it has been two days since the first presidential debate and donald trump is making arizona a priority. the republican nominee is they will be visiting prescott on tuesday. it will take place at the prescott event center at 2:00 in the afternoon. doors open at 11:00 and if you want the glendale police now using new technology. nicole garcia has the story tonight. >> reporter: it wasn't long after glendale police released a sketch of the suspect in the brazen sexual assault that the tips came rolling in. generated sketch is compared to the mugshot of jeffrey wilson. he was arrested two days after the incident. the victim came up with the sketch with an interactive computer program that has a pallet of different markers that victims can browse and choose from. >> it allows the victims to use different characteristics and they get eyes, different ears and a different nose and that is the best way to do it. >> reporter: glendale police detectives have the programs on their laptop computers that they can bring to the victims themselves. glendale police department is the only police department in the state right know using that particular program. police trying to figure out who robbed two fast food restaurants in phoenix wearing a clown mask. 99th and mcdowell and a second robbery at dominoes near buckeye. nobody was hurt. the phoenix police department is gearing up for the second annual missing in arizona day. this event allows arizona family members with missing loved ones to meet with police agencies. nine missing persons cases was solved after they held this back in 1975, 23-year-old chris perkins vanished from her phoenix apartment. her car was found near 51st avenue and bell, which was a remote area at the time. her little sister laura tells us she was 17 years old at the time. she believes her sister certainly was murdered. >> it's kind of of bars that cater to the lbgt community and police believe the same suspects are behind both of the robberies. danielle miller is live with more details on this. >> reporter: police have not
