killing nearly 300 people in haiti. hurricane winds of more than 100 miles an hour tore through neighborhoods in daytona beach ripping roofs off of businesses and homes and knocking out power to more than a million people. the real damage comes from the record amount of inundated many areas that rarely have seen flooding. in towns along the shore along cocoa beach saw the worst of it with entire sections of the downtown areas flooded by the storm surge waters. despite the devastation, officials say as of right now, there has been two storm fatalities but they are warning the storm is far from over. parts of northeastern florida and parts of georgia and south carolina. president obama warned people to be ready. >> this is a dangerous hurricane that the potential for storm surge, flooding, loss of life and severe property damage continues to exist and people continue to need to follow the instructions of their local officials. >> reporter: with a couple more hours of this storm to go, we're already seeing significant flooding n jacksonville beach where the first blocks of the town from the ocean are now completely flooded. in jacksonville, florida, i'm garett tenney. more than a dozen red cross volunteers have been sent to the east coast to help with the victims out there. two more volunteers are driving in an emergency response car to orlando. they will hand out hot meals, snacks, and others affected by >> volunteers are desperately needed and we're able to do this. i feel like what's a few weeks out of your life for what all these people are going to be going through. they are going to be going through a disastrous time. >> they also need blood out there. blood drives along the east coast has been canceled because of the storm so red cross is asking skwraoeubl donors to go donate blood. >> reporter: hurricane matthew is continuing to rage along right alongside the shoreline and that has been devastating for a lot of areas. it is a category two hurricane at this point in time. look at that, 110-mile an hour winds moving north at 12 miles around in the futurecast of what might happen with this. heading back toward the bahamas or florida. there is your saturday timeline. your sunday timeline up by nor folk as it makes its turn. lots of tphoeufp associated with this storm. savannah is where it is right now that is the location of the eye. charleston is notorious for flooding. it has a low flood plane. it will probably extensively in this storm system. we follow it up to norfolk, the raleigh area. watch what happens here. it goes a little bit east off tornadoes and cause up. >> all right, dave, thanks. back here in the valley, crews rescue a horse after it fell into an irrigation canal in avondale. the 23-year-old horse named mister got stuck in a canal behind the stable area and the back leg was cramped in the canal tube. it took crews several hours and neighbors helped out. >> a livestock officer arrived and we grabbed all of the straps and backed the horse out of the tube. another neighbor came with his forklift and we lifted him out of the canal. >> a big group effort there and it paid off. the horse was tranquilized as crews worked to get him rehydrated and he is expected to be ok. >> reporter: i'm marcy jones. sunday night's presidential debate may be more contentious donald trump on a hot mic were released. he says he
