>> good evening, marc. walter cronkite school at a.s.u. in downtown phoenix, and it was broadcast here in the valley. it was a wide ranging debate focusing on a number of topic, senator mccain seeking his sixth term as the senior senator in arizona, and his challenger ann kirkpatrick, who has been through a number of hotly contested races herself. they talked about immigration, voicing their opinions about the minimum kirkpatrick supports, john mccain does not, but the most harsh language for ann kirkpatrick's support of hillary clinton and john mccain's once support of donald trump and now his nonsupport of donald trump. take a listen. >> when mr. trump attacks the women and demeans the women in our nation and in our society, that is a point where i just have to part company. it's not pleasant for me to renounce the nominee of my party. has been supporting donald trump. over 60 times has endorsed him. so it wasn't enough when trump insulted the khan family, a gold star family, who called on john mccain to renounce trump. it wasn't enough when trump made fun of a disabled reporter. >> and the moderators pressed john mccain on who he would vote for now that he has unendorsed donald trump. he kind of jokingly said he would write this his good friend, lindsey graham, and then said in could not vote for either candidate. marc?
