Tonight a family is speaking out after their loved one was shot and killed in the west valley that teenager was shot late last night near 67th avenue and bethany home road and he died this afternoon. Stefania okolie was at a vigil held by the family and friends and brings us the latest tonight. Thats right. A very emotional vigil indeed a were at the exact plaza where juan diaz was shot and killed. This is hard for some friends especially since they were with the victim as of late last night when things when terribly wrong inside that plaza. He was everything. Im sorry. He was my best friend. 17yearold victoria salinas has had a shattered heart. She has to live with the of her life. I hear the glass break and all of a sudden i could see him jerk a little and i got scared. She was sitting in the passenger seat. Diaz was in the driver seat. Someone started shooting at him. I felt his hand and there was so much blood. And it was going everywhere and i freaked out. Victoria says she struggled to pull juan from the car. He was shot in the back of the head. I yelled for help and then thats when the security saw me someone call 911. And they came and they took him and they pulled me off him. She learned this morning juan was brain dead and on life support. Just before 1 00 tey pulled the plug. Today family and friends are grieving. They say juan was a man who was turning his life around for the better. He and victoria became parents to baby boy just five months ago. He was a good father. He really was. You know, just because of the way he looks didnt mean anything. He really did love him. He would come for his lunch break from just play with him and he would talk to him and make him laugh. Such a tough time for victoria. Such a traumatic thing to go through. Police have arrested and charged 19yearold Javonte Baker young with first degree homicide. They have not said anything about a motive. Friends tell me this all stemmed from drama that started on facebook. They say it was a very stupid reason to take someones life. One of the officers killed, she was just 27 years old. And she recently given birth to a daughter. Four months ago. And the other a 35 year veteran of the force who was set to not clear if the suspect is still inside that home or police they say they have it surrounded. We will keep it updated. Police back here in the valley are asking for help catching a guy accused of robbing a shell gas station. Robbery happened a few weeks ago at the shell gas station near 40th street and southern.
