And an extremely disturbing case involing a baby. Not year one year old. That baby was shot at. Inside a san leandro mc donalds. pam stunningly, from one foot away. The baby was not hit. But police say. This is not the first time the woman arrested. Has tried to kill that baby boy. Grant lodes is here to sort out how this horrible story. Is the result of an apparent love triangle. grant thats what police and prosecutors say. They also say its a miracle the shooter missed. Firing that gun at the infant. From point blank range monday afternoon at the mcdonalds in san leandros washington plaza. Police say. Adana ibe. Entered this mcdonalds, and at some point pulled out a gun and from a foot away and opened fire at an 11 month old baby who was sitting in a booth with her mother. According to detectives. The 11 month old baby is the son of ibes boyfriend marcel brooks. Now brooks and ibe. Both from antioch. Have both been charged with 5 counts of attempted murder. Court documents indicate brooks told the mother to meet him at the mcdonalds with the baby then once he knew she was there, he contacted ibe by cell phone and told her to carry out the plan. Lt. Isaac benabou, san leandro pd in all my years as an officer ive never seen an infant shot at at point blank range, so it is very disturbing. Santa Clara County
about the problem. For the past four years, the bay area has been dealing with drought conditions. That meant relatively little standing water on the ground and the mosquitoes tended to be concentrated near those pools of moisture. Now, after a wet winter, theres a lot of water out there and that could mean more mosquitoes which could be carrying disease like west nile virus or even possibly zika virus. Sotruss parman is the assistant manager at the
Santa Clara County
Vector Control
district. He says that they have already been out looking for standing water and trying to spot potential mosquito breeding spots. Sot in addition to trying to keep west nile virus under control,

districts across the bay area are also on the lookout for zika virus. So far, the two types of mosquitoes that spread zika dont live here in the bay area, but they are found in the
Central Valley
and in
Southern California
so its quite possible these insects could show up here. Parman says that in addition to possibly carrying zika virus, these mosquitoes are very annoying. Sot the daytime, they are very fast and persistent and aggressive. Even without the disease factor they are a terrible nuisance and they really do interfere with quality of life during the day time.
