The sinking of the city of chester was one of the deadliest accidents ever on San Francisco bay. Reporter according to noaa, on the morning of august 22nd, 1888. Decades before the Golden Gate Bridge was built. The city of chester was leaving San Francisco bay headed up the coast to eureka. There were 90 people on board. Pam the Investigation Continues into the mysterious deaths of two female hikers on mount tamalpais. 36 year old Magdalena Glinkowski disappeared two weeks before her body was found april 13th. 50 year old marie sanners body was discovered a little over a mile away, just five days later. Preliminarily the Marin County Sherriff Department believes marie sanner died after falling into the ravine where she was eventually discovered. Ms. Sanners injuries are consistant approximently 60 feet from a trail. Reporter the body of the other woman. Magdalena glinkowski. Did not have obvious signs of injury that would have caused her death. But she did suffer some scrapes. T this point there is no evidence that these two deaths are anything more than tragic accidents. Because there was no sign of struggle or suspicious activty at either location. But foul play hasnt been completely ruled out. Investigators are still following up the many leads coming in from concerned marin residents.
