supporting the whole you. >> today marks 6 years since the deadliest fire in the history of oakland. was terrible. december second, 2016. that's what 36 people attending an event at the ghost ship warehouse lost their lives. kron 4 ella sogomonian joins us now with a look back. >> a warehouse in oakland that went by the name ghost ship was converted into both the home and event space years ago. it drew partygoers for many nights filled with music and fun. but for 36 people, a dance on december second, 2016 would be their last. i just heard somebody. >> out, well, fire. give me a fire extinguisher. it all happened really quickly. fire went with a really >> was a window of maybe 5 minutes between the fire happening. and you just didn't get out. >> the artists collective wasn't set up or permitted to support the vision of derrick coleman. a the master tenant was held criminally responsible for illegally using the building as a live work space. prosecutors described that makeshift 2 story structure as dangerously designed and decorated with flammable material, essentially a tender box fire trap with just a narrow staircase for an escape route. there were no smoke detectors or sprinklers. amanda pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to serve 12 years. well, his artistic director max harris was acquitted, but friends and family of the fire victims were enraged to learn that aumenta would avoid prison and instead serve a fraction of that time from home. before just to get justice today when he was convicted in 2021. had accumulated credit for sitting in jail for 3 and a half years and good behavior. he was then under house arrest with family for another year and a half because of the pandemic. and now i'm anne. could face jail time for possibly violating probation after weapons were allegedly found in his lake county home. there was more uproar when the property owners weren't criminally charged. instead, the name family settled a lawsuit with the families of both victims and survivors. last year to file bankruptcy to pay them 11.8 million dollars. the city of oakland also settled a lawsuit in the deaths paying out 10's of millions more. >> the ruins of that former warehouse still stand today. it is not clear what will take the place of the debris once the property is sold. but family members and many of the victims have shared that they do not want a memorial and would instead like to see it put to other uses. that would really benefit the community. ahmed up, by the way, is due back in court december 16th for a hearing that will look into whether he violated his probation. let's go live outside now. a look here at the san mateo bridge on this friday night. yeah, getting darker and certainly colder kron four's. meteorologist kyla grogan joins us now with a look. >> down the line. what's going to be like this weekend? yeah, we're going to be chilly. we're going have a little rains are going to talk about all of that. but i probably started a little perspective of temperatures, right? take a look at is 76 degrees in miami at this hour. it is 42 in new york. >> and it's -4 and my not north dakota. so we're doing not so bad rate compared to a lot of other people here in california. you can see sacramento about 42 degrees and 59 in los wind is relatively calm as well. we've got a little bit of when they're in livermore about 13 miles per hour, but not bad. so tonight is going to be all about those dropping temperatures for those of you in our inland, in our inland valleys, for the most part are going to feel this. we drop into the 20's and low 30's. get down to that freezing mark cold again tonight. and then i want to track this for you. just show you how this plays out. so we get into tomorrow morning. you start to see that southern system bringing some scattered showers from south to north. they take you into saturday evening. there's 03:00pm. now here comes the evening where you get that next line coming in from the northwest rates. you see this kind of 2 coming together. it continues with scattered showers as we get into sunday. and it wants to kind of hang out a little bit for monday morning. we'll see if that holds. but all together, you know, i think between about a half an inch, maybe a little more, maybe a little less is what we're looking at. and that's a good thing. we need the rain, but it's means that you're going to kind of make your plans around that. so that also includes if you're driving, right? the shooting death of migos rapper takeoff. the suspect identified as 33 year-old patrick xavier clarke has been charged with murder. it happened on november. first outside a private party at a bowling alley. the 28 year-old rapper born kirsnick curry bell was struck by gunfire and he died at the scene. he was with his uncle and wrap partner quavo and was engaged a heated argument with another group of men at the time of the shooting. >> west is making headlines again this time for saying he likes hitler and nazis and spreading just general antisemitic propaganda on twitter. now he's banned from twitter again. kron 4 sarah stinson has the latest. >> it's been months of ye making antisemitic comments and his latest tweet became the last straw for twitter ceo elon musk yesterday yea went on a podcast. he was posting online. let's break it all down. yeah, i did an interview on a podcast with conspiracy theorist alex jones. jones said to ye, quote, you're not see. you don't deserve to be called out and demonize. and this is how responded saying, quote, i see good things about hitler. also, every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially hitler. jones said, well, i have to disagree with that. a string of anti semitic comments by day resulted in him losing out on several business deals including adidas. the latest being with parler yea made an offer to buy the right-wing leaning social media site. but now parlor says the deal is no longer. that leads us to the twitter suspension. ye posted a picture of a swastika merge with the star of david ye. also posted a photo of elon musk shirtless calling it his final tweet. that's when elon musk responded. someone us saying please fix yea. musk wrote, i tried my best. despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement of violence. his account will be suspended. musk also tweeted just to clarify he was suspended not because of the photo he posted of me but because of his incitement of violence. musk allegedly even texted yea saying sorry, but you have gone too far. this is not love to which responded. who made you the judge musk is under pressure right now to clean up twitter after changes he made resulting in watchdog groups calling him out for a rise in racist antisemitic and hate speech on the social media platform. even a top european union it goes through 09:00am tomorrow morning. so you can see interior parts of santa clara county and also our valleys and into portions of the north bay are set to get down into that freezing or below level. so just be careful out there. and then let's track this rain so you can make your plans for the weekend we get into tomorrow morning. we have scattered showers starting to roll in as we get into our evening. notice our second system from the northwest coming in. so it's going to be scattered as we get throughout saturday and sunday. you're likely to see some of these unfortunately, it could mitt factor into some of your plans being a little bit difficult, but just make sure you have your umbrella with you and stay chilly as we head into next week. you can see that we do clear out as far as the rain is concerned. so that will be the difference in the forecast after we get past the weekend. guys, back to you. >> thanks, kyle. is the east bay set teamed up with danville police in the u.s. marine corps to collect toys for christmas this year. this is a look at some of the toys they've already been collected for the toy drive. organizers are looking for new and unwrapped toys to give to kids in need this holiday season. the toys will be given the nonprofits across contra costa county throughout the next few weeks. and then those programs will distribute the toys to families 80's. that is crazy. but, you know, fact can be stranger than fiction. yeah. knoxville, tennessee reporter kristen spoke with former sheriff who worked the case. it was almost like a movie. >> you know, you wouldn't wouldn't believe, you know, it was it seemed too good to be true. former knox county sheriff jimmy jj jones had only been on the force for a few years when the metro narcotics unit got an unusual call. the way the call came in was an elderly gentleman had called the dispatch and say that they were somebody in his yard and he didn't look like he was moving in that they need to send the police out there. see what was going that's jones in the white short sleeved shirt. according to the georgia bureau of investigation, former kentucky narcotics investigator turned smuggler, andrew thorton fell to his death, caring too heavy of a load of cocaine while pair shooting the story startling the knoxville community back then i saw this parachute and gentlemen landing on the ground. >> and this was according to the gbi. the cocaine found in knoxville was part of the trail left behind by the parachutist several days after he was found a black bear was found dead from apparently ingesting the drug in the mountains of fannin county, georgia. next to it was 40 packages of cocaine that had been ripped open and scattered over a hillside. but to do together, then we started tracking where the where the bags of cocaine were thrown out. it was a multi-agency case, fbi, the tbi. everybody got involved with it. jones said it was a case that sounded like it was out of a movie not to be a father was a huge amount of cocaine. i mean, we did about 300 pounds of cocaine. >> and that the 95, that's a lot of cocaine. >> and although the new movie cocaine, there doesn't
