here. >> reporter: an argument that started 3 blocks avenue ended in a shooting at the park. >> i've been looking around to see everything is safe around here. >> reporter: two men were shot during the altercation. one of the victims didn't survive surgery and died at the hospital. police say the other victim is in stable condition. now authorities are looking for 19-year-old christian omar cruz, a person of interest they say ran off with a gun in hand. during the time of the shooting students were getting out of school. >> snortly after the shooting the schools in the area as -- shortly after the shooting the schools in the area as well as the boys and girls clubs were initially put on lockdown. >> reporter: police say cruz should be considered armed and dangerous last seen wearing a blue wind break are with yellow stripes. -- breaker with yellow stripes. we are learning more tonight about the husband and wife killed over the weekend in san jose. the couple was members of the evergreen islamic center for more than 30 years. they both immigrated to this country from bangladesh. yesterday they were found dead in their home on lucas court. police have not said now they were killed or who they think did it. a family friend tells us they were very loved in their tight community. >> they were actually just trying to adjust to the -- we are actually just trying to adjust to the loss and suddenly you realize how fragile life is. >> the islamic center plans to hold a prayer service for the couple soon. san jose has had 16 homicides so far this year. that's compared to 30 in all of 2015. a nanny is under arrest tonight after parents say they caught her hurting their baby today. kron 4's charles clifford was in danville where the disturbing incident was reported. he has the details. >> reporter: according to the danville police department, this incident occurred along bordeax court monday. this is a very quiet upscale neighborhood. let's go ahead and look at some video from bordeax court. the parents of a 10-month-old child reported seeing their nanny allegedly shake and strike the baby on the nanny cam, a video camera. they called police. officers arrived here monday afternoon and arrested 23-year- old antioch resident mikayla ririe. she was booked into the martinez jail on child abuse charges. the 10-month-old was taken to a hospital in san ramone as a precaution. the family was home monday afternoon and declined to go on camera. the police department said this case is still under investigation. in danville charles clifford, kron 4 news. the big question, dove fans across the bay area are asking, when will steph curry be okay and well enough to return to the playoffs? curry hurt his knee on the final play in the 2nd quarter of last night's game against the houston rockets. he limped off the court after he was helped up. an mri today revealed that the mvp suffered a grade 1mcl sprain. the good news is curry is only expected to miss about two weeks. >> we're exploring different things as far as treatment options, but at this time it's just rest, ice, things like that, nothing we haven't all seen before. >> doctors say another bright side to curry's injury is he did not tear the right mcl ligament. the warriors say he will be reevaluated again in two weeks. we'll have more on curry and all of the sports coming up later in this newscast. strong winds and a big warm- up for this coming weekend are setting the stage for the fire season. hillsides, mountains, lawns in the bay area are all greener than this time last year, but firefighters are issuing a warning. intense winds are drying everything out. firefighters say we can easily speed back to a situation where wildfires can rage without notice. >> this year it's just a question of time before the area behind me is available to burn in entirety and that the trees and brush around it can threaten houses. >> the firefighters are using this time before fire season officially starts to look for potential fire triggers and remind people all over the bay area about cleaning out brush around their homes. let's take a live look outside along the embarcardero in san francisco. there is a chance of rain in the forecast in week. kron 4's meteorologist britneyship has detail -- brittney shipp has the details. >> i am still tracking windy conditions heading into wednesday. we're right in between two systems. you can see the circulation of the one pushing away from us. that helped bring us all the windy conditions today and here's the next system that's going to move in and bring us a chance of rain heading into wednesday, even a chance of a few isolated thunderstorms. your planner for tomorrow, we have are going to see a chilly -- we are going to see a chilly start to the morning. futurecast 4 shows us as you go into the rest of tomorrow, clouds will continue to increase. wednesday we'll start to see rain moving in closer to 8 a.m. where you'll see rain filling in for the north bay transitioning through san francisco as we get into the late morning hours. then into your lunchtime hour we expect most of the rain to be in the east bay and south bay a few lingering showers expected by 8 p.m. on wednesday as well. once you get through with those showers, everything clears up and we are tracking a warming trend as we head into the weekend. tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. expect to see clouds increasing through the day, lots of locations starting off in 40s. have your jacket tomorrow. 51 in san francisco, 49 in oakland and our highs tomorrow girl in his truck in belmont. it happened about 3:40 this afternoon along hiller street near rolston avenue. officials say a 12-year-old girl was walking home when a man driving an older rusty brown truck pulled up alongside her. when the driver tried to call the girl over to the truck, she ran away towards her home and the man drove off. the suspect is described as a hispanic male in his late 40s with short straight hair. the suspect arrested in a fatal attack at a south san francisco gym back in 2014 will get 17 years in prison for a steroid fueled gym flame. plumber kenneth osaca received the sentence earlier today. his attorney admitted steroid use prompted fits of uncontrolled rage which led to the beating death of a south san francisco butcher two years ago. prosecutors say osaca thought he heard the spanish word for fight during a conversation the two men had in a locker room. osaca attacked the victim with a heavyweight lifting bar leading to the man's death. california's election season is officially underway. tonight the five candidates looking to replace retiring u.s. senator barbara boxer took part in a debate. it was held at university of the pacific in stockton tonight. front runners attorney general kamala harris and representative loretta sanchez. the democrats on the stage. tom debacaro, george duff sunheim and software developer ron untz were the three republicans. the topics ranged from immigration to gun control and more. >> i think the president deploying more troops in syria is a step in the right direct. it's something we should the east bay authorities are searching for the suspect behind an armed robbery that happened at a casino. it happened at the california grand casino just before 5:00 this morning. surveillance cameras caught a series of pictures of the gunman wearing a halloween mask, orange gloves and had a semiautomatic weapon. officials are not elaborating on exactly what was taken from the casino. investigators are looking into whether the gunman was alone or whether there were others involved in the crime. no one was injured. new tonight at 11:00 airbnb could be held responsible for policing san francisco listings which violate the city's short term rental law. the san francisco board of supervisors planned to introduce legislation tomorrow which holds sites like airbnb responsible for verifying that hosts are following the city's laws. the potential law would penalize booking platforms like airbnb $1,000 a day for any hosting site that does not fully follow the mandate. the city legislative analysts report released this month found more than 75% of current hosts have failed to share data with the city which would have assisted in enforcement. happening tomorrow severe weather predicted including tornadoes to hit large parts of the midwest. forecasters say that it will affect parts of nebraska, kansas, oklahoma and texas. the storm system is expected to produce heavy winds, tornadoes and hail the size of baseballs. school district officials near oklahoma city have already announced school closures for tomorrow. i'm kron 4 meteorologist brittney shipp. by tomorrow we'll see dry conditions, but breezy conditions will remain for us and our clouds will increase going into the rest of the day. as we push into the rest of the week, especially wednesday we track a chance of rain and then warmer temperatures friday right into the weekend. right now our temperatures are in the low 50s in san francisco, 57 in oakland, san jose 54 degrees, livermore low 50s, santa rosa 51 degrees. our satellite and radar shot shows the tail end of this system as it continues to push away from our region, but this is what brought us wind gusts upward of about 40 miles per hour. you can see the leading edge of the next system where the clouds are developing. this next system will get here wednesday. that's why you'll see our clouds increasing as we go through the day tomorrow, but we should stay nice and dry. it won't be until wednesday morning closer to 7:00, 8:00 in the morning we'll start to see some of this rainfall moving in. here's 8 a.m. wednesday. you'll notice it moves into the north first in parts of cloverdale, santa rosa and slowly transitions over san francisco, the east and south bay as we go through the day wednesday. by 4 p.m. we're still dealing with scattered showers from livermore up through fairfield and concord and have a chance of a few isolated thunderstorms associated with this next system moving through. after that we'll see our wind speeds going down and then we'll see our temperatures going up. our wind speeds now breezy in half moon bay sustained at 13 miles per hour. tonight we'll drop down to 49 in daly city and heyward, 43
