children. kron 4 news standing by from palo pinto now with details. >> reporter: pam, you hear it all the time that children should travel in pairs and that their strength in numbers will do what police say were going on yesterday with these two kids. that did not stop the man from making his approach. >> word is quickly spreading. >> i feel worried. that a stranger maybe lurking around jordan middle school. >> they're all around, not sitting well with parents in the community >> when your kids is this this school. >> after school hours, children still frequent the area. >> you see kids walking home. >> thursday night, all the more troubling. >> at around 5:45 evening, police say a caution man in his late 20s or 40s pulled up the two twelve-year-olds a boy and a girl as they massed down middle field school. >> they ignored him and he drove off. then a block later, he stopped by again. this time telling the girl she was beautiful and asked that the two children plan on getting married. spooked. they stayed away and the man drove off. parents fear this incident will happen again. >> police need to be cautious about the area. >> investigators are. it was a similar incident reported a week ago on liewe road. the vehicles are different and the description of the man were similar. >> you don't think it happens in palo pinto. >> reporter: i spoke with neighbors, and they say they'll report any suspicious stories if they see it. police in the east bay are on the hunt for a man who groped several young girls. kron 4news emily turner has more on that incident and two police are looking for. >> under the watch watch of three life guards. this man managed to touch several young girls. >> i was surprised. >> yeah. >> i was surprised of hearing from it. >> police are now looking for this man. he battered several nine to 13 years old girls. he grabbed their legs and buttocks. >> i am sure if my girls would say if something like that would happen to them in the pull. iam glad other children came forward. >> parents are keeping a close eye out for the man described as an adault man. wearing a red, bathing suit. he has a pot belly. >> this mom says he will be back today but is worried it will not be the same. >> emily turner, kron 4 news. a public hearing will take place in fair view to decide whether or not not a violent sexual predator should be placed home in concord. smith was sentenced to prison back in 2006. smith is currently living in a state hospital, once he's released, the state will place him in a single family home in concord. >> concord police, the district attorney or neighbors all strongly opposed in their city. >> i am shocked and appalled. there are plenty of rural areas and not highly populated areas within the state of california and if they want to use taxpayers', my dollar and your dollar to buy this guy a house or rent this guy a house then it needs to be in a less populated location. >> the public is being urged
