pam. philippe djegal>>: last word from police is that the victims -- both men -- are still alive. but both are in critical condition. they were wounded here at 17th and capp streets just after seven o'clock tonight. investigators were here for about two hours, collecting evidence before leaing at around nine as for what happened -- not many details. police say two men got into an argument with at least one other man -- and at some point, shots were fired. police say one of the victims was shot in the upper body. an eyewitness says that man was on foot. and, the other victim was on his bike. both were taken to san francisco general hospital for treatment. an eyewitness tells us that the gunman was with at least two other men on foot -- all wearing red hooded sweatshirts. but he says they ran away shortly after the shootng. so far, no arrests have been announced. the police still have people out here looking at surveillance footage trying to track them down live in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. pam moore>>: san jose police said there have been a double sitting there as well tonight. we will continue to gather information on this and bring it to you as it comes and. outraged parents. speak out about cuts at the san bruno school district. a one percent pay cut across the board, several support postions on the chopping block and 14 teaching positions eliminated. kron-4's jeff bush is live in san bruno where there are a lot of disappointed people tonight.jeff. jeff bush>>: parents and teachers are mad about the decision but the school board says they had no choice but to make deep cuts to the budget. outraged and outspokenparents and teachers rallied outside the school board meeting in an attempt to persuade the board not to cut more than a dozen teaching positions. teachers and parents say the cuts are unfair. >>meghan clark : our district is not supporting us. they are asking for pay cuts and maximize all class sizes and we know that is not good for kids. we don't agree with what they are trying to do by giving each teacher 31 students. and we don't agree that they are trying to cut their salaries. they have not gotten a raise for the last nine years and we are totally against them combining grades. jeff bush>>: the district says they don't want to make the cuts but they have no choice. >>patrick flynn : this was a surprise to us it came up in december. we found that we had deficit and we need $2.5 million to solve that deficit. the district has been living beyond it's means for the last five years and that needs to end and we need to balance our budget. it's going to be painful and there is no way around that. i'm wearing red because i feel four our teachers. they deserve more but we can't give it to them. jeff bush>>: those pink slips go out on march 15th. i'm jeff bush, live in san bruno, kron four news. pam moore>>: san leandro police are releasing more information about the victim in an unsolved murder. 21 -year old joel ramirez was shot and killed december 14. while in the driveway of the san leandro home he rented. police say, they are releasing his name now. because they believe he was not the intended target. and they say someone likely knows who the killer is. ramirez rented an in-law unit in a home in the broadmoor neighborhood. but he reportedly did not know that the main home. housed an illegal marijuana operation. his girlfriend struggled to contain her emotions. when talking about the victim. >>:i just hope that people come forward. pam moore>>: the city is offering a 25-thousand dollar reward. for any information leading to an arrest and a prosecution in this case. a santa clara university student has been arrested. charged with attempted homicide. police say, dillon kim shown here with a self- inflicted wound, used a knife to stab his sleeping roommate numerous times. at their campus residence in graham hall, near 500 el camino real.it happened early tuesday morning. they say he then turned the knife on himself. word about the incident quickly spread among students. >>:sometimes schizophrenia comes out at this age group. sometimes it's pressure, and sometimes people just don't know how to live with people that are different from them. pam moore>>: both teens were taken to a hospital and are expected to recover. police haven't looked into whether kim has a prior criminal history. friends of the victim say before this incident occured kim asked for a room change, but the university declined his request. kim is being charged with attempted homicide. it's being called the "superbug". u-c-l-a says. this bug has infected seven people. and more than 100 other people have been exposed to it. the superbug is a potentially deadly and drug- resistant bacteria. u-c-l-a says, the patients affected. may have been infected during procedures using contaminated medical instruments. the procedures happened between october and january at the u-c- l-a medical center. experts say, outbreaks caused by the bacteria. can contribute to death. in up to half of those infected. >>:the pamphlets talk about sodomy masturbation, mercy killings. pam moore>>: parents crosswalk today. gonzalez attended oak grove middle school. and to get to his bus stop he had to cross clayton road. witnesses told police, gonzalez crossed the road against the signal. when he was hit. his friends were visibly shaken. hours after they learned of his death. as word quickly spread on social media. >>:"they all missed him.they are posting pictures of him on instagram.social media basically." pam moore>>: the 45-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. the driver appeared to be heeding the 35 miles per hour speed limit and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have contributed to the collision. christopher's family members say he had a massive amount of internal bleeding and died at the hospital. a close call in marin county today. a bus with dozens of school children got stuck in a sharp turn on highway 1.coming dangerously close to the edge of a ravine. this is video from our helicopter partnership with a-b- c 7 news. c-h-p says the sleep number. pam moore>>: a pamphlet distributed to students at a san francisco catholic school is stirring controversy. the pamphlet was given out to elementary students at the "star of the sea" school in the richmond district. it includes some basic church teaching like the 10 commandments. but there is one section that has dozens of questions identifying what the church considers bad behavior. including did i fail to pray daily or fail to keep secrets i should have kept? but some questions are raising eyebrows.such as "did i perform impure acts by myself or with another. one parent says handing out the pamphlet was a bad idea. >>:the first thing we have to do and always want to do is protect our children. when we have pamphlet's talking about masturbation sodomy, and mercy killings a i do not think that is appropriate for the schools at this age. pam moore>>: kron-4 reached out to san francisco's archdiocese but not one was immediately available for comment. four security breaches less than a year have led to a review of protocols at san jose international airport. this is video of the most recent breach from around midnight january 29-th. this is surveillance of the area where a person got through the airport's fence. now higher perimeter fences are being considered as part of security upgrades to the airport. the upgrades also include the integration of national program outside the military. the law requires kids entering head start to be vaccinated- unless they have a medical exemption. this program has 100 percent immunization. boxer wants the lesgislation to set an example and to become a model for every state to follow. some san francisco apartment hunters won the real estate jackpot today. they are moving into one of 69 brand new apartments offered at below market rent. it's part of the city's inclusionary housing ordinance.where developers building more than 10 units. must make 12 percent of their units affordable. mayor ed lee handed out housewarming gifts at the event today.but says more needs to be done because demand for affordable housing is very high. the rapper afro-man is in trouble with the law over what he did at recent show. this video from a concert last night shows him turning and punching a woman who got up on the stage. the woman then falls to ground. this happened in biloxi mississippi. some people in the crowded started to boo the performer and eventually the venue owner stopped the concert. police did show up.and arrested the rapper for simple assault. but he is out after posting 330 dollars
