>> reporter: looks like another punch tomorrow. more rain and wind. doesn't look like it will be quite as bad as the friday system but we could have another round of power outages as winds are forecast to pick up. here's a look at the storm and the -- clouds are just approaching the bay area. the rain still has a little ways before it arrives here. and now a live look at sfo where we have winds last night. up and over 50 miles per hour. we could get close to that again for tomorrow. so a wind advisory in effect for the south winds expected 40 to 50 miles per hour. strongest winds at the coast and then to the higher elevations and as i mentioned there could be more downed trees. especially the friday storm weak ened the trees with all the winds. so this next round could make it easier to down some of the trees and thus the powerlines. here's the timeline. the heaviest rain coming midday and late morning. then turns over to showers for sunday night. we have more showers monday with afternoon clearing. after monday night we're going back into sunny and warm once again. it will feel like january. midnight notice a fee spotty -- few spotty showers. clouds will be increasing through the overnight and eventually the rain arrives by 7:00 a.m. first light bands approaching. then heavier around 8:00 to 9:00. notice yellow and orange. that is heavy rain. downpours and possibly rumbles of thunder. it won't stick around long. rainfall amounts won't be too much. about half inch to an inch by the bay. look for scattered showers 3:00 p.m. and continue through monday afternoon before things wind down. then lots of sunshine with clouds in the morning after monday. look at the temperatures in the afternoon. low to mid-70s as we approach next weekend. >> reporter: brian williams is temporarily stepping away from the news desk amid questions about his memories of war coverage in iraq. he said it is painfully apparent he is a distracting news story. he apologized for saying he was in a helicopter hit by a grenade. questions have been raised about his claim he saw bod azies in the hurricane katrina flood waters. nbc is looking into the statements. six americans have been charged with helping terrorists overseas. the six were together to send materials and money to terror groups. now some of the materials sent to iraq and syria include u.s. military uniforms, boots, and tactical gear. the u.s. residents immigrated from bosnia and live in missouri, new york, and illinois. five people have been arrested and the other is overseas. they may be in the middle of winter here but giants are looking forward to spring. jeff pierce hit the ball park today for fan if est and spoke to fans welcoming the new baseball season. >> reporter: now once you get by the super bowl, you know it's getting close and then you come here and that locks it all in. >> reporter: tens of thousands of giants fans couldn't agree more as they lined up to get into at&t park. they braved what could have been a wet introduction to the season. >> no problem. we thought we'd take a chance. >> it could be snowing and the fans would be here. >> reporter: sandwiched between two rain storms, they celebrated the approaching season. >> the giants when you're a winner, even the weather cooperates. >> we've had rain on the parade and we loved it. we have sunshine today and we'll love that too. >> part of the reason i started watching baseball is because it has so much heart and love. >> reporter: for fans, the giants it means spring is shortly upon us. >> we're on center field. how great is that?
