You also get additional training. In 2012 all of our personnel underwent active shooter training, which involved building searches and clearing rooms. Our detectives have been involved in 18 probation searches, follow up probation searches last year. Reporter those 18 searches were for the entire department. 18 residential searches in a years time is not enough for being prepared for a life and death decision. The tragedy was during the clearing where they were way out of practice. It is for serving the peace calls. They are familiar in terms of rendering a house safe.
