loss in the stanley cup finals today. cars set on fires, people through bottles after the loss to the bruins. flames shot 30 feet into the air from burning cars. people chanting obscenities. riot police moved in to try to restore order. if vancouver won tonight it would have been their first stanley cup championship. new details in the rape case out of oakland. we have cell phone video taken by the victim. according to the victim the suspect broke into her house, sexually assaulted her and left with her electronics and now that suspect is in police custody. kron 4's dan kerman has more. >> reporter: police say it's this video recorded by the victim that led to his capture. >> we definitely believe the video helped us because we were able to get tips. >> reporter: those in thes with the work of investigators, led police to identify the man as dion mcdaniel. >> dion mcdaniel is basically a career criminal. he has a long rap sheet. he has been convicted of 11 felonies and done 6 different stints in prison. >> reporter: he was arrested tuesday morning, hiding in the backyard of this house. >> he jumped over the fence and came over here, in this house, with the tires. >> reporter: kevin and his family live here. he says the suspect was hiding in this play house. >> my daughter's old play house. he was hiding out. i don't know how long he has been there. that's why the police couldn't find him. >> it's spooky. i am taking it out. somebody else might try to do that. >> reporter: his mother is relieved the suspect is caught. >> i am glad he is caught. the idea they came into my yard. you know? it's scary. >> reporter: police won't say how long the suspect was hiding in this doll house. in oakland, dan kerman, kron 4 news. we talked to the victim who did not want her face shown on camera for her reaction to the arrest. >> i guess it's a good thing. i am really overwhelmed. i wish i could say there is relief but i still -- i don't feel safe. >> the suspect has been charged. the family of nursing student michelle le will lead their own search for her. they are asking for volunteers to help look for her who has been missing since may 27. kron 4's reggie kumar has more. >> reporter: three long weeks have gone by and still no sign of michelle le. she was last seen at kaiser permanente hayward medical center last month where she was taking classes. her brother met with marc klaas of klaas kids foundation, who helps families find missing children. her brother says they are planning three searches on friday, saturday, sunday. >> we hope to have at least 100 people. she hasn't been found yet. who knows, maybe they made a mistake, overlooked something. if she is not found, if she was your daughter, sister, cousin, friend, you would hold out home. >> reporter: marc klaas finds it unusual that investigators classified this case as a homicide without a body. >> i was in the same position that the lee family is in right now. the police came to me and said that you have to get used to the idea that your daughter is dead and i rejected that theory at that point, like they have. we will send out volunteer teams. each team will be led by a search professional and we will be looking for items that might help us -- that might help lead us to where she is. >> they have to continue looking for her. they have absolutely no choice. if they were to fold up and walk away from this then she would never bine ball three found. the family needs volunteers. log on to www.kron.com ask click on news links for information on how to help. reggie kumar, kron 4 news. >> stay with -- and www.kron.com for continuing coverage of michelle le. a teacher has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a young student. she committed lute acts with a student -- lewd accounts with a student. >> reporter: shown here in photos from her myspace page is embarrassed by her arrest and the charges. >> she is distraught. she is -- this is a very difficult time for her. she is very distraught over this whole circumstance. >> reporter: she has been a teacher for the past five years in san jose. police are saying only she is accused of two felony accounts of mubest a young student. they won't say if the studentset a boy or a girl. steve clark says his client is a well respected teacher. >> there is no past history of any relevance in this case. and we invite them to conduct further investigation. she is a long time resident, respected member of the community. she worked with young people in her career and it's -- that's something that is very important to her. >> in a statement they said as soon as the school received award of her arrest she was suspended and has been terminated from her job. he is expected to enter a plea on july 8. rob fladeboe, kron 4 news. a hot day today. high temperatures from today. a lot of places hit the 90s. 90 in sacka rosa. 90s in inland valleys. 95 antioch. 80s south bay. this warmer weather isn't going to stick with us tomorrow. we are seeing temperatures cool down. it's mild out there for most of the bay area. 46 half moon bay. 70s inland. look at what we can expect tomorrow. coastal fog. mostly sunny skies into the afternoon. 5-15 degrees cooler. we will look that temperatures and your forecast for how long the cooler trend will last. programming note, tomorrow kron 4 news bringing you a special edition of kron 4 news. community at 8:00. 30 rock 830. 9 the office, kron 4 news at 9:30. that's tomorrow night on kron 4. we will be back. ñwkó ♪ ♪ stay inside?
