loss in the stanley cup finals today. cars set on fires, people through bottles after the loss to the bruins. flames shot 30 feet into the air from burning cars. people chanting obscenities. riot police moved in to try to restore order. if vancouver won tonight it would have been their first stanley cup championship. new details in the rape case out of oakland. we have cell phone video taken by the victim. according to the victim the suspect broke into her house, sexually assaulted her and left with her electronics and now that suspect is in police custody. kron 4's dan kerman has more. >> reporter: police say it's this video recorded by the victim that led to his capture. >> we definitely believe the video helped us because we were able to get tips. >> reporter: those in thes with the work of investigators, led police to identify the man as dion mcdaniel. >> dion mcdaniel is basically a career criminal. he has a long rap sheet. he has been convicted of 11 felonies and done 6 different stints in prison. >> reporter: he was arrested tuesday morning, hiding in the backyard of this house. >> he jumped over the fence and came over here, in this house, with the tires. >> reporter: kevin and his family live here. he says the suspect was hiding in this play house. >> my daughter's old play house. he was hiding out. i don't know how long he has been there. that's why the police couldn't find him. >> it's spooky. i am taking it out. somebody else might try to do that. >> reporter: his mother is relieved the suspect is caught. >> i am glad he is caught. the idea they came into my yard. you know?
