pittsburgh reignited last night and moved towards a decommissioned power plant. today. the marsh fire burned more than 100 acres back in mid-june. firefighters prevented it from destroying any property back then, but they were unable to fully extinguish the blaze due to its location today. it's parked up yet again. contra costa fire devoted extra resources from the air and on the ground to try and battle those flames. it grew to about 200 acres beftre forward. progress was stopped. thick smoke from that fire did reach into the surrounding areas of antioch and oakley. but they were able to keep the flames away from nearby homes. the fire department says they're going to continue to monitor this one daily. turning now to the latest on the electra fire, which is burning in amador county. cal fire reporting just over 70% containment tonight. >> the fire has grown 50 acres in size since last night reaching nearly 4500 acres in total. the number of structures threatened has dropped from nearly 900 to around 430 firefighters say that they are anticipating the fire to be fully contained in about a week. >> we do want to get you a check of your 4 zone forecast. looking at conditions out there as track these fires. rodriguez, what's going on? yeah, let's take a look at electoral fire conditions because firefighters finally starting notice some relief from the heat. mid 70's out there right now near where that fire is burning and smoke and ash is actually spreading into yosemite and even into south lake tahoe. and most of this year because of the electra and washburn fires. so hopefully they get full containment on that soon. but we are tracking moisture content increasing in that area. thanks to the cooler temperatures. very pleasant in the mid 70's with wind drought conditions, even with our mini heat wave that we've been having. >> the good news is we haven't reached a dick's stream or exceptional territory, but we're tracking another round of hot temperatures going to be short-lived sunday and monday, but still unseasonably hot for this time of year. we are seeing some relief right now this evening along the coast golden gate bridge getting a shallow marine layer influence. so that's why downtown san francisco just cool down into the mid-fifties about 10 degrees cooler than those of you in concord at 68 degrees and seeing widespread 60's with the exception of petaluma at 57 degrees with the widespread mid 50's for most of our bay area coastline. so taking a look ahead at our next 7 day outlook. this is going to be hot, but we are tracking a mini heatwave. so we have the next 2 days to get through sunday and monday going to see mid-nineties when we should be in the low to mid 80's for our warmest inland valleys. this time of year really for really arrive until midweek. and we're going to see seasonal temperatures for the next 7 days. but check out our 10 outlook coming up in a few minutes to see if any more heat waves are department there says 2 of those voters or says 2 or 3 of those voters suffered injuries in the crash. first responders received reports of the accident just before one 30 at the alviso marina. this is along the southern end of the san francisco bay. firefighters used a search and rescue boat to bring those passengers back to shore because of this crash. it's still not yet know. >> in the north bay, drought conditions are not only a risk of fire danger. there are also impacting water. quality signs have been posted at beaches along the russian river, notifying the public to keep a lookout for algae blooms as kron four's gayle on report. certain allergies can be harmful and cause health issues in both humans and pets. >> along the russian river, you'll find check for algae educational signs like this one posted at area beaches. the water quality at monte rio beach has the green light for swimmers to enjoy the water. but sonoma county's environmental health program manager leslie choate says harmful algae was found in one of the beaches. there was that evidence that there was some algae related says cyanobacteria. >> and we've posted talks and just patterson point. in this case, the ongoing drought is the culprit harmful algal blooms are formed by bacteria that multiply as the water gets warmer. when we talk about blue-green algae, there's lots of different types of blue green cyanobacteria is something that can have toxins associated with that exposure could cause health issues for humans like a rash, vomiting, diarrhea, cold and flu-like symptoms. but pets are more vulnerable symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, difficulty breathing and seizures, or death. in santa rosa, howard park closed boat rentals as a precautionary measure after blue green sent him to the hospital. police have identified the woman in the video as 48 year-old patricia castillo. further investigation revealed that the 43 year-old man there on your right leonard hawkins those of you in downtown san francisco. so right about where we should be for this time of year. temperatures cooling down into the 50's along the coast with 60's as you make your way inland. concord trying to flirt with 70's but 68 degrees. but you are about 15 degrees. warmer. then those of you in pacifica currently in the mid-fifties. and here's another shot of the soon to be buck moon. that's going to arrive next week. and that is actually going to tie in to our king tides event. that's going to tuesday through thursday in the bay area. and that's when the new or full moon is closest to earth. and we're going to have both because that full moon is going to be out there by next wednesday. let's take a look at radar for because we are tracking remnants of what was foggy also going to make its way into the bay area by the middle of next week, bringing us some cloud cover and also some muggy tropical conditions. but from now, until then, though, we're going to stay warm, hot and dry for your sunday afternoon after tonight's drizzle fest along the coast and bay area shoreline, we're going to see less and less of that marine layer with these warm temperatures heading our way. the good news is our upcoming mini heatwave going to be short lived just lasting sunday and monday. but overnight lows tonight, mid 50's along the coast and east bay shoreline. upper 50's as you start to make your way inland. but antioch, the mall, the city cooling down to 62 degrees for your overnight lows in. we're going to be 5 to 10 degrees warmer than where we were today and also 5 to 10 degrees above average. because remember, we are very seasonable today mid-nineties for concord n livermore at 95 degrees. 94 for those of you in santa rosa. low 80's for oakland and mid 70's for downtown san francisco. so if you want some relief, make sure to head to the beach, especially half moon bay. temperatures there expected to be in the mid 60's. but take a look after monday. cooling down very seasonal temperatures for the next 10 days. so after this, no major heat waves in sight. so that's the good news we just have to get through today's. i think we can do it. we can do get to get to the alameda county fire department doubled its resources to fight the bully conference. really just all reports. this is the latest of several fires to pop up in the area. >> not long ago will elden eventually called off. the fire was under control in less than 90 minutes. chief cooper says there is no live electricity in the building and believes it caught fire by people seeking shelter. has we the mother of 2 was found dead on harriet street. anyone with information on this is asked to contact san francisco police major highway work being done right now in the north bay. and it could reach for us in the bay area sunday and monday for those of you in this year, you're going to start warming up tomorrow and we're going to see it peak by around monday and tuesday of this upcoming week. so let's take a look at temperatures for your 2nd half of the weekend. mid 80's for truckee in south lake tahoe, 5 to 10 degrees above average. turning into upper 80's by monday and tuesday. that's when you're going to flirt with 90's for the sierra temperatures going to be hot. in fact, you're going to be flirting with those low 90's by early this upcoming week for us here in the bay area. our heat wave going to start tomorrow and peak for most of our warmest inland valleys sunday afternoon. so just keep that in my 50's along the coast. 60's as you make your way inland, conquer those 68 degrees. >> 66, for those of you in paulo alto with mid 60's for vallejo at 65 degrees. cooling down along the coast of downtown san francisco at 57 degrees. thanks to that cool sea breeze and the return of that marine layer. but temperatures really going to heat up 5 to 10 degrees above average mid 90's for concord n livermore at 95 degrees. santa rosa nevado very similar conditions there. low 80's for hayward at 82 degrees with half moon bay, the coolest city at 67 degrees. so we are tracking heatwave sunday and monday. fortunately short-lived, but then cooling down with very seasonal averages. 10 say inflation should be one of the government's top 5 priorities for next year. >> 44% say they consider their personal finances to be a major issue. both of these numbers are higher than what they were in december. among the specific concerns people mentioned include gas, energy and food prices. >> and for your money this evening, the latest u.s. jobs report is surprisingly good showing that the economy added 372,000 jobs last month. basil, john has more. >> even as inflation continues to plague americans. the latest jobs report shows the job market remains strong. my economic plan is moving this country in a better direction. u.s. national economic council director brian deese said the u.s. has now recovered all private sector jobs lost during the pandemic. the strength of the job market recovery has meant more opportunity, higher wages for 10's of millions americans. it's meant stronger household balance sheets. people have been able to save a little bit and that creates a more resilient economy. but even with job growth, recession worry still linger. george washington university professor tara sinclair. i think those fears are their own problem. if people really buy this message that recession is coming, they may cut back on spending and that action and cutting back on spending could suffer a recession. sinclair says the federal reserve's priority is slowing down. demand to better max supply without triggering a recession. but they haven't been so successful that in the past. >> and so there's a lot of concern that if they're really going to fight off the inflation we're experiencing right now, that may come at the cost of a recession. sinclair believes of americans are worried they can focus now on building up their savings. but i think what actually facility. that's shutdown whose shutdown triggered a national shortage. abbott nutrition recall their baby formula back in february because of bacterial infection. concerns that one of just 4 companies that produce about 90% of us baby formula. fda inspectors closed the facility after discovering a host of violations, including bacterial contamination, a leaky roof and lax safety protocols. on wednesday, though, the fda announced plans to help overseas makers of infant formula that have sent supplies to the u.s. during the shortage. california is going to make its own insulin.
