river holds it will go back down and we will be fine. >> monday night the rain continued adding water to an area that has flooded home after home. more than 500 homes are in harms way in or near granville. this is what the area looked like monday afternoon as the russian rivers of water levels rose. >> you can have any fear you just watch it and keep your eye on it and don't let it surprise you. >> frank murphy is part of a small group living a mile down this flooded road. they voted to the end of the street to get medical supplies. some have evacuated but many have not. murphy says everyone is watching the water levels and helping one another as they do so. >> have people been able to help each other. >> that is what we do. that is what happens in a flood. you find out who your neighbors are. we're getting through it as long as mother nature holds back of the don't release any water from the dams. >> i've been talking with many folks who live in this neighborhood. they tell from scotts valley to the santa cruz mountain. >> one driver has been hospitalized after he was pummeled. northbound lanes are still close to many as crews scramble to try to clean things up. we take a look at that and a couple of other slides in the area. >> there were several. we will run for a couple and stay on highway 17 with both northbound lanes closed over here you go over the center divider and you see one lane in each direction. that is the go around that will still keep people moving. just one lane both in the southbound lane and this is expected to be the case for the morning commute. you can travel north on highway 17 it is just that you were in the southbound lane and you see the damage here. really a bad thing on highway 17 and we mentioned that one person had to go to the hospital. he is now home. he was actually a photographer with the abc affiliate here in the bay area. he was headed to work and you see some of the damage that he faced and the rocks in the mud and the trees and power lines. everything came down on him. fortunately he is just store and he will be okay . the chp says this is a q/ good reminder of what can happen to anybody. >> miracles happen used to drain8w ter from storm drains and then the back of their and some other large equipment a plow came through and do their best to clean up the mess and the roadway reopened just before 9:00 this morning struck so many areas have had reached a saturation point. a large rockslide near st. helena block all the lanes. that roadway will remain closed until tomorrow morning. crews are so worried about that area. >> silverado trail to the north of st. helena here in napa will remain closed overnight tonight and that is because of rockslide that fell around to p.m.. this rockslide happened near the ski intersection that was sent to us by of you work. we move in and you to the rocks actually covered the entire roadway. that is why the initially cold down -- closed on silverado trail. but this isn't rocket this is compressed volcanic ash. because it's soft crews are able to get in there remove it to move it and clear the roadway and just after sunset . the problem is there are thousands of cubic yards of this stuff is still hanging on the hill above the roadway and there is fear that could fall down and hurt them one. >> what is still hanging up there is hanging precariously and it is too much of a threat to the life and safety of a public so we will keep the road closed for the rest of the night reevaluated in the morning. >> silverado trail means closed for about 2 miles until at least tuesday morning. drivers in the area will ddd to war through side roads in st. helena. falling trees posing a serious threat everywhere around the bay area. >> on saturday a woman was hit and killed by a tree in san ramon took the victim debra makela was walking to the canyon golf course when it happened. >> we have advice about staying safe. >> reporter: before we get parked nearby. >> trees crushed cars and homes and fortunately this past weekend does unfortunately a woman was fatally struck on a golf course. >> i had been thinking about it yes i've seen on the 8:30 a.m.. the suv was found submerged in the water with the drivers body inside. no word yet on exactly what caused the crash. in the east bay a cab driver was killed when his taxi lost control and he is now been identified. darnell things died saturday when his taxi cab crashed into the water near the open airport. there pictures from the oakland fire department. it happened at 8:00 yesterday responded to more than 600 storm related incidents just between saturday and sunday. >> everybody concerned about flooding and now the preparing for the king tides that brittany just explained. we're live in an area that is well-known for flood a -- flooding. >> reporter: today was not only about cleaning up. marin county is making sure residents know about the expected flooding coming. >> drivers are ñrbeing warned. >> that area consistently floods almost anytime there is a moderate to heavy rain. >> marin county is expecting high tide up until next monday. this is video of previous flooding. the county wants to avoid any stalled vehicle. >> there are extensive portions of the roadway especially in the park and ride where you have to slow down or else you might hydroplaned. >> the low lying areas roadways underpasses and coastal trails are being carefully monitored but some folks are trying to get away from all this rain. >> i leave tomorrow. we say goodbye to the storms. >> this drainage system that leads to a flood canal so things are more dire at her place. >> what i when i got home last night i noticed that there was bark halfway up my driveway. a big line under the car wrappers even tennis balls and appear. here's a look inside with the storm drains with debris waiting to be flushed with the next rain despite the fact that it just rained. when it floods you can see all the trash drop by us in the water. i have to admit there's another problem. it's a homeless encampment right now near the water so some of the trash comes from the camp and. of a much of the trash comes from us haphazardly tossing our bottles and papers outside the car on the sidewalk not thinking of the results. the next on before you think about tossing something on the ground member not all
