Reporter the latest scandal to rock the department involves racist Text Messages sent between africanamerican opd officers. One person is currently on leave and others have either sent or received the text and will receive punishment. They are inappropriate and not acceptable. Not from anyone who wears a badge. Reporter the texts were sent in 2014, mayor schaaf says her team just learned of them. She would not say how many officers are involved or how far it goes up the chain. Its fewer than the number of officers involved in the opd sex scandal involving and underage prostitute. All this happens while the department is under federal oversight, as it has been for the past 13 years. The problem of a toxic, macho culture is not unique to our police department. She is been city administrator for just over year, before this post, she was a city manager in emeryville and a native in oakland, she worked as a budget director and deputy city administrator. Now, she is in the spotlight, once again and Oakland Police department is seeing something different. Shes had sex with officers in richmond, San Francisco and deputies from alameda and contra costa counties, when she was not having sex with officers, she was sex sting them.
