( darya ) most of the discussion at last night's dinner were about foreign policy and small business regulations. ( mark ) and opposition is growing against a right-wing rally that is scheduled for august 26th in san francisco. now the anti defamation league is cautioning people against possible counter protests. they say that the group "patriot prayer"... who is behind the planned rally at crissy field... is not like the group that marched in charlottesville, virginia over the weekend. the anti defamation league says that the patriot prayer group actually tends to reject white supremacy. but they are still offering advice for possible counter protesters. ( mark ) the us park service is expected to decide whether or not to issue a permit for that crissy field rally within the next week. (darya) coming up... another football game another protest. we'll talk to gary about the movement gaining momentum from sport to sport. and how local sports super stars are getting involved. and... another case of west nile virus in the bay area... we'll show you where after the break. an injury accident nb at vist apoint blocking the left lane. major delays on nb doyle an parl presideo. golden gat bridge drive time less than 40 min toll to san rafael. hwy 4 still closed in discovery bay due to a fatal accident. (james) i'm tracking your forecast. (darya) welcome back to the kron 4 morning news... every morning at 7:45 we talk sports with gary radnich. and in case you missed it gary's world rewind. ( darya ) good morning gary! we are starting off with another football game. the same thing as last season. it's really becoming more wide spread.( darya ) more players are standing up and taking kaepernicks place in the fight for racial equailty. eagles safety malcom jenkins raises his fist with defensive end chris long putting his arm around him in support. it is an issue of right and wrong. gary's says long's father used to play for the oakland raiders. long grew up and played his college football at the university of virginia. we are seeing it gain steam with every game. it will probably come to a team near you like the san francisco 49ers niners coach kyle shanahan says he thinks it's divisive, but respects the players' decisions. here's what he said. "i'm not going to tell anyone what to do or not to do. i see stuff on tv also, things that are going on in this country and this world. i think anybody who sees that stuff and doesn't get the feeling that they'd like to do something about it to end that stuff, i think something's wrong with you. for a player, if they see that differently and they want to do something about that, i completely understand their intentions and why. because i think everyone can agree there's lots of stuff that's pretty sad to see right now."( darya ) we were waiting to hear what marshawn lynch would say when he sat on a water cooler during the national anthem. it happened during the raiders preseason opener. he did talk to the media about it. here's a bunch of gobblety gook."marshawn, the elephant in the room on saturday there was a lot of attention with you not standing for the national anthem.""i think the elephant just left the room cause a little mouse ran in here. didn't they say elephants are scared of mouses or something?"( darya ) lynch was just not going to answer. he was asked a second question after that. no answer. gary says he normally sides with the players. when you are doing something of a serious nature like not standing for the national anthem, you answer those questions. you don't mess around with something like that. you answer it seriously. the fact that you are not talking about it is kind of silly. lebron just said it's their job to speak out and kevin durant just agreed with him with a strong statement about the president.( darya ) "it just felt like we took a turn for the worse, man. it all comes from who is in the administration. it comes from the top. leadership trickles down to the rest of us. so, you know, if we have someone in office that doesn't care about all people, then we won't go anywhere as a country. in my opinion, until we get him out of here, we won't see any progress."( darya ) they are using their platform. gary says no matter how you feel about the media, you just don't mess around with that subject. he doesn't know why it soured him so much. if he was some young guy just trying to do his job about something serious and someone laughed in his face, that would bother him. the media is a different world now. people will ask stupid questions. but you have to answer that one question about the anthem. if you don't stand for the anthem, you got to answer that. let's end this friday on lighter note. don't ever air punch. ( darya ) conor mcgregor will face undefeated floyd mayweather on saturday, august 26. now other fighters are "challenging" each other to make fun of his unusual workout regimen. during friday's workout mcgregor warmed up by swinging his arms. this is not his actual fighting technique. light welterweight champion terence crawford started the trend of copying mcgregor's moves and started a challenge to all boxers to follow his lead. unless you are mcgregor, don't do this in the gym. don't act like a boxer if you are not. ( darya ) a new jersey woman lost her engagement ring in italy and found it after returning to the country nine years later.( mark ) breaking news...cnn is reporting that president trump has decided to remove steve bannon as the chief white house strategist. the report says it was the president who insisted that bannon resign. . seven day (darya)that's it for us this morning... our next newscast is at 5 o clock tonight.
