( mark ) breaking news we are following... one person is killed after a stabbing in oakland. it happened just after midnight on macarthur boulevard. officers are still on the scene. no arrests have been made. ( darya ) our top story this morning... details are beginning to emerge about the gunman who opened fire at a u-p-s facility in san francisco.( mark ) kron 4's averi harper is live at that u-p-s facility this morning with the new information about the shooter. averi. ( averi ) it happened on wednesday morning when a u-p-s employee shot and killed three co-workers before killing himself. the shooter has been identified as 38-year-old jimmy lam. right now police and colleagues are having trouble finding a motive in the shooting. a u-p-s union official says lam filed a request back in march to reduce his overtime hours... but it was resolved immediately because it never escalated to a formal grievance. the union says there was no indication of any other problems. police say it appears lam specifically went after the three drivers he killed. two other people were hurt in the shooting, but they are out of the hospital this morning. lam worked for u-p-s for 18-years. ( mark ) thanks averi. we will check back with you through out the morning. ( darya ) and communities all over the bay area are mourning the victims of the shooting. they have been identified as 46-year-old mike lefiti, 50-year-old benson louie, and 56-year-old wayne chan. right now there are growing memorials along the drivers' routes. chan's route was in cole valley and the haight-ashbury neighborhoods in san francisco. employees at stores he delivered to daily say they were more than just clients and he made an effort to get to know everyone. ( darya ) chan worked for u-p-s for nearly 30 years... and he had been on the same route for at least time. ( mark ) happening today - the man charged with the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will be back in court. derick alemna is expected to enter a plea later this morning in oakland. almena is facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire that broke out last december. almena was the man in charge of the warehouse. max harris was also arrested in connection with the fire. investigators say he is the man who organized party the night of the fire. if convicted, each man faces up to 39 years in prison. ( mark ) breaking news we are following this morning... the leader of isis may have been killed in an airstrike. the russian military claims that it killed abu bakr al- baghdadi last month. russian officials say the strikes targeted an isis meeting that was being held in syria. they claim that the strike also killed 30 mid-level isis leaders and about 300 other fighters. u-s officials have not yet confirmed russia's claims. there have been multiple reports of baghdadi's death in the past that have turned out to be false. ( darya ) and more breaking news... the death toll from the deadly london apartment fire increased overnight to 30. dozens of people are still recovering and officials fear that the death toll could still rise. 125 families were inside the building sleeping when the fire broke out. fire officials are still trying to figure out how the fire started wednesday morning. earlier today...queen elizabeth and prince william spent time visiting the victims at the hospital. ( darya ) today... the jury in the bill cosby rape trial will begin their fifth day of deliberations after signaling that they are deadlocked. the jury has been deliberating since monday and yesterday the judge ordered jurors to continue deliberating. the jury told the judge they were unable to find unanimous consensus on any of the three charges against cosby. cosby is accused of drugging and raping andrea constand in 2004. cosby's publicist says this deadlock is a good sign for the defense team. ( mark ) the american college student released from prison in north korea is back with his family...after being detained for more than 17 months. but doctors say that he is in a vegetative state and has suffered serious brain damage.. otto warmbier landed in cincinnati tuesday night. doctors say he has not spoken or moved on his own since he arrived back in the u-s. otto's parents say they learned of his condition just last week even though north korean officials say that he had been in a coma for at least a year. he was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in 20-16 for committing "hostile acts" against the north korean regime. (darya) a rare moment of bipartisanship in the nation's capitol. republicans and democrats faced off in the annual congressional baseball game, just one day after an attack on the republican team during practice. capitol police officer, david bailey, who helped end the attack threw out the first pitch. on wednesday morning, a gunman shot four people at the republican practice field including the majority whip steve scalise. the gunman was killed by police. doctors say congressman scalise remains in critical condtion but his health has improved. (mark) a warning for dog owners... several rawhide pet products are being recalled because of chemical contamination. the products affected are from three brands under the united pet group brand. it includes several products from american beefhide, digest-eeze, and healthy hide. the products were sold in stores across the nation, as well as sold online. the company says they have received a few reports of pets getting sick from the chemical. they say it came from the manufacturing equipment not being cleaned properly. (darya) a new delhi woman who was raped by an uber driver is suing the company for a second time. she claims that uber executives got her private medical records and made false statements that she fabricated the attack in 20-14. the driver was convicted of rape and sentenced to life in prison. it is another incident in a long string of problems for the ride-hailing company. uber's c-e-o travis kalanick took a leave of absence earlier this week after an investigation found a dysfunctional culture that allowed sexual harassment. (darya) a singer with hundreds of thousands of teenage followers online is facing child pornography charges. and this morning a judge has released him from jail. 24-year-old austin jones is from chicago... he is a star on youtube and his music videos have millions of views. police say he asked two young female fans to send him sexually explicit videos of themselves. the victims were around 14-years-old. a judge freed jones yesterday as he awaits his trial. the judge also ordered him to stay off the internet and remain in his mother's home in chicago. jones is facing a minimum of 15-years in jail. ( mark ) the pentagon is considering sending nearly four-thousand american troops to afghanistan. the decision could come by the end of next week. the trump administration is hoping to break the standstill in a war that has now passed on to a third president. this would be the largest american military deployment so far under donald trump's presidency. (mark) take a look at this... the u-s coast guard seized 36-thousand pounds of cocaine off the coast in san diego yesterday. coast guard crews stopped fifteen boats suspected of smuggling drugs into central and south america. they seized the drugs from late march through this month. in 2016... the coast guard seized more than 400-thousand pounds of cocaine. (darya) two teenagers are rescued after spending three days trapped in the catacombs under paris. the 16 and 17 year old boys ended their trip getting lost in what was once known as the "empire of the dead". the late 18th century tunnel network stretches about 150 miles under paris... and contains the remains of around six million people. search crews with sniffer dogs were able to rescue the boys. the teenagers were treated in the hospital for hypothermia. the catacombs are a popular tourist attraction.... but most tunnels remain closed off to the public. unauthorized entry is against french law. (mark) the t-s-a is testing new baggage scanners that are supposed to make flying easier. the scanner creates a 3-d graphic of your carry-on luggage... and then t-s-a agents can virtually move your items around so they can see all parts of your bag. if the 3-d scanner is successful... it could mean you would no longer need to remove laptops or liquids from your bag. american airlines partnered with the t-s-a to test it out, and right now it's only at the phoenix and boston airports. the same technology is already used by the t-s-a to screen checked bags. (darya) the number of complaints about airline service is skyrocketing... that is according to a new government study.(mark) the department of transportation said it received more than 19-hundred complaints from people in april.(darya) that's up nearly 70-percent from march and another 70-percent from april of last year. the biggest complaint was flight problems... over 750 people complained about cancellations, delays and missed connections. the vast majority of those complaints were against airlines based in the u-s. (mark) popular tourist destination muir woods will be getting a makeover to help accommodate parking needs. the national park service says they will redesign parking areas and the visitor entry plaza. officials say the park receives about a million visitor's every year and parking can be a problem. construction is supposed to start in 20-19 and will be completed within a year. ( darya ) and communities all over the bay area are mourning the victims of the shooting. they have been identified as 46-year-old mike lefiti, 50-year-old benson louie, and 56-year-old wayne chan. right now there are growing memorials along the drivers' routes. chan's route was in cole valley and the haight-ashbury neighborhoods in san francisco. employees at stores he delivered to daily say they were more than just clients and he made an effort to get to know ( mark ) breaking business news. amazon has just announced that it is buying whole foods market in a deal that is valued at more than 13 billion dollars. amazon says it will pay 42 dollars a share for the comnpany. whole foods has been under pressure recently to sell itself. investors have criticized the company for its poor performance, and have suggested the chain could be merged with another grocer. recently amazon has been pushing to expand its online grocery business. the deal is expected to close in the second half of this year. ( mark ) happening today - the man charged with the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will be back in court. derick alemna is expected to enter a plea later this morning in oakland. almena is facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire that broke out last december. almena was the man in charge of the warehouse. max harris was also arrested in connection with the fire. investigators say he is the man who organized party the night of the fire. if convicted, each man faces up to 39 years in prison. ( darya ) four years after an east bay man was murdered, his mother is pleading for the public's help in finding her son's killers. aya (eye-yah) nakano was 22-years old when he was shot and killed in oakland. he was on his way home after playing basketball on the cal campus when his car was rear ended. when he got out of his car the other driver and passenger shot and killed him. the murder happened an hour before his birthday. the oakland police department to investigate the murder. 125-thousand dollars is being offered for information that leads to the arrest. aya's mother says she is still hopeful that police will eventually for the ( mark ) a man has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend seven years after her body was found in a suitcase along san francisco's embarcadero. a jury found 54-year-old lee bell guilty of killing pearla louis. louis's body was found near folsom street in may 20-10. bell's d-n-a was found on the suitcase. louis was last seen arguing with bell at a hotel where the two were staying. louis' daughter says she wants her mom to be remembered as a strong woman who tried to leave an abusive relationship, but it was too late. she has some advice for women in similar situations: force you to go backmax szabo, district attorney's office// you understand that in a lot of instances a lot of victims do not want an arrest or prosecution and that's okay. if someone comes to our office we will help that victim get what they need.>( mark ) the san francisco district attorneys office says women should reach out to local groups like the domestic violence consortium if they are ever in a similar situation. ( darya ) a three-year-old girl in stockton has died after undergoing dental surgery. a dentist recommended for three-year-old daleyza (duh-lay-sah) hernandez to have the surgery. she was supposed to have two teeth removed and two teeth capped. the little girl was taken away from the dental office in an ambulance after she went into surgery. a nurse told her parents that her heart had stopped durning the children's dental surgery center: "this is not an easy thing to deal with, i've been doing this for almost ten years had a situation like this.">( darya ) the stockton police department is investigating the case. the child's death is not considered suspicious or criminal. ( mark ) two escaped inmates from georgia who are accused of killing two guards on a prison bus have been captured. donnie rowe and ricky dubose were taken into custody in tennessee last night. the two had been on the run for the past two days. police say they stole multiple cars and robbed two homes during that time. yesterday afternoon a homeowner spotted the men trying to steal his car and called for help: happening along interstate 280 and in the coyote meadows area between the freeway and senter road. firefighters have been called to that area several times recently. they suspect the fires have been set either accidentally or on purpose by the homeless. park rangers have reported new camps and campers popping up in the area. ( darya ) low-income families often times, find themselves having to stretch every dollar... and sometimes that means sacrificing foods with nutritional value.( mark ) for those who do need a hand to get by and survive, there are programs here to help. kron 4's jeff pierce shows us how one group in the south bay makes sure people are getting fresh food every day. the second harvest food bank of santa clara and san mateo county parks it's eighteen wheeler in the court yard of the katherine smith elementary school in san jose. from there they unload pallet after pallet of fresh fruits and vegetables and a variety of kitchen staples for the hundreds of low income families that rely on them each month.here in silicon valley just because we have a strong economy doesn't mean we don't have a hunger problem. in fact we call it the silicon valley paradox because the cost of living is so high.we serve over a quarter of a million people a month and that is the equivalent of three sold out crowds a month. so the need in silicon valley is huge.many of those that the second harvest food bank serves are from immigrant communities that are discovering foods they've never encountered before. second harvest has a nutrition program to introduce them to what are their first experince to many foods.we have a lot of people from latin america, vietnam, china and other countries so some food is not familiar to them. so we come out to sites do food demonstrations and cook with food they'll be receiving that day. so they taste the sample they have recipes and when they go home they feel much more empowered to cook with those items.we feel very strongly about getting nutritious food into the hands of families with children.if we start early when kids start to learn to eat and we incorporate these food items already in their diet chances are we are already to fight against future diseases like diabetes and obesity. whether the focus of the second harvest food bank is disease prevention or maintaining a balanced diet for struggling families, it is a mission approached with enthusiam.the more we can do to help them and provide them with resources to get on their feet and to be healthy and to do well in school and at work the better we are for everybody. it's just amazing to be out at sites, engage with clients, learn about their cultures and really help promoting health. it's amazing.in san jose jeff pierce kron four news. ( will )fresh produce is something californians enjoy as almost a given but for many in our communities it is a difficult choice when they try to feed their families. that's why hundreds of people rely on the contra costa solano food bank's trucks that provide this important nutritional help. the food bank's two refreigerated trucks make stops throughout the two counties every day distributing more than a million pounds of fresh produce every month. while the trucks were part of a grant the produce and the upkeep now depend on the community. hundreds of those living on meager incomes depend on this source of fresh produce they might not otherwise have in their diets. ( mark ) breaking news we are following... one person is killed after a stabbing in oakland. it happened just after midnight on macarthur boulevard. officers are still on the scene. no arrests have been made. ( darya ) our top story this morning... details are beginning to emerge about the gunman who opened fire at a u-p-s facility in san francisco.( mark ) kron 4's averi harper is live at that u-p-s facility this morning with the new information about the shooter. averi. ( averi ) it happened on wednesday morning when a u-p-s employee shot and killed three co-workers before killing himself. the shooter has been identified as 38-year-old jimmy lam. right now police and colleagues are having trouble finding a motive in the shooting. a u-p-s union official says lam filed a request back in march to reduce his overtime hours... but it was resolved immediately because it never escalated to a formal grievance. the union says there was no indication of any other problems. police say it appears lam specifically went after the three drivers he killed. two other people were hurt in the shooting, but they are out of the hospital this morning. lam worked for u-p-s for 18-years. ( mark ) thanks averi. we will check back with you through out the morning. ( darya ) and communities all over the bay area are mourning the victims of the shooting. they have been identified as 46-year-old mike lefiti, 50-year-old benson louie, and 56-year-old wayne chan. right now there are growing memorials along the drivers' routes. chan's route was in cole valley and the haight-ashbury neighborhoods in san francisco. employees at stores he delivered to daily say they were more than just clients and he made an effort to get to know everyone. ( darya ) chan worked for u-p-s for nearly 30 years... and he had been on the same route for at least time. ( mark ) happening today - the man charged with the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will be back in court. derick alemna is expected to enter a plea later this morning in oakland. almena is facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire that broke out last december. almena was the man in charge of the warehouse. max harris was also arrested in connection with the fire. investigators say he is the man who organized party the night of the fire. if convicted, each man faces up to 39 years in prison. ( mark ) breaking news we are following this morning... the leader of isis may have been killed in an airstrike. the russian military claims that it killed abu bakr al- baghdadi last month. russian officials say the strikes targeted an isis meeting that was being held in syria. they claim that the strike also killed 30 mid-level isis leaders and about 300 other fighters. u-s officials have not yet confirmed russia's claims. there have been multiple reports of baghdadi's death in the past that have turned out to be false. ( darya ) and more breaking news... the death toll from the deadly london apartment fire increased overnight to 30. dozens of people are still recovering and officials fear that the death toll could still rise. 125 families were inside the building sleeping when the fire broke out. fire officials are still trying to figure out how the fire started wednesday morning. earlier today...queen elizabeth and prince william spent time visiting the victims at the hospital. ( darya ) today... the jury in the bill cosby rape trial will begin their fifth day of deliberations after signaling that they are deadlocked. the jury has been deliberating since monday and yesterday the judge ordered jurors to continue deliberating. the jury told the judge they were unable to find unanimous consensus on any of the three charges against cosby. cosby is accused of drugging and raping andrea constand in 2004. cosby's publicist says this deadlock is a good sign for the defense team. ( mark ) the american college student released from prison in north korea is back with his family...after being detained for more than 17 months. but doctors say that he is in a vegetative state and has suffered serious brain damage.. otto warmbier landed in cincinnati tuesday night. doctors say he has not spoken or moved on his own since he arrived back in the u-s. otto's parents say they learned of his condition just last week even though north korean officials say that he had been in a coma for at least a year. he was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in 20-16 for committing "hostile acts" against the north korean regime. (darya) a rare moment of bipartisanship in the nation's capitol. republicans and democrats faced off in the annual congressional baseball game, just one day after an attack on the republican team during practice. capitol police officer, david bailey, who helped end the attack threw out the first pitch. on wednesday morning, a gunman shot four people at the republican practice field including the majority whip steve scalise. the gunman was killed by police. doctors say congressman scalise remains in critical condtion but his health has improved. (mark) a warning for dog owners... several rawhide pet products are being recalled because of chemical contamination. the products affected are from three brands under the united pet group brand. it includes several products from american beefhide, digest-eeze, and healthy hide. the products were sold in stores across the nation, as well as sold online. the company says they have received a few reports of pets getting sick from the chemical. they say it came from the manufacturing equipment not being cleaned properly. (darya) a new delhi woman who was raped by an uber driver is suing the company for a second time. she claims that uber executives got her private medical records and made false statements that she fabricated the attack in 20-14. the driver was convicted of rape and sentenced to life in prison. it is another incident in a long string of problems for the ride-hailing company. uber's c-e-o travis kalanick took a leave of absence earlier this week after an investigation found a dysfunctional culture that allowed sexual harassment. (darya) a singer with hundreds of thousands of teenage followers online is facing child pornography charges. and this morning a judge has released him from jail. 24-year-old austin jones is from chicago... he is a star on youtube and his music videos have millions of views. police say he asked two young female fans to send him sexually explicit videos of themselves. the victims were around 14-years-old. a judge freed jones yesterday as he awaits his trial. the judge also ordered him to stay off the internet and remain in his mother's home in chicago. jones is facing a minimum of 15-years in jail. ( mark ) the pentagon is considering sending nearly four-thousand american troops to afghanistan. the decision could come by the end of next week. the trump administration is hoping to break the standstill in a war that has now passed on to a third president. this would be the largest american military deployment so far under donald trump's presidency. (mark) take a look at this... the u-s coast guard seized 36-thousand pounds of cocaine off the coast in san diego yesterday. coast guard crews stopped fifteen boats suspected of smuggling drugs into central and south america. they seized the drugs from late march through this month. in 2016... the coast guard seized more than 400-thousand pounds of cocaine. (darya) two teenagers are rescued after spending three days trapped in the catacombs under paris. the 16 and 17 year old boys ended their trip getting lost in what was once known as the "empire of the dead". the late 18th century tunnel network stretches about 150 miles under paris... and contains the remains of around six million people. search crews with sniffer dogs were able to rescue the boys. the teenagers were treated in the hospital for hypothermia. the catacombs are a popular tourist attraction.... but most tunnels remain closed off to the public. unauthorized entry is against french law. (mark) the t-s-a is testing new baggage scanners that are supposed to make flying easier. the scanner creates a 3-d graphic of your carry-on luggage... and then t-s-a agents can virtually move your items around so they can see all parts of your bag. if the 3-d scanner is successful... it could mean you would no longer need to remove laptops or liquids from your bag. american airlines partnered with the t-s-a to test it out, and right now it's only at the phoenix and boston airports. the same technology is already used by the t-s-a to screen checked bags. (darya) the number of complaints about airline service is skyrocketing... that is according to a new government study.(mark) the department of transportation said it received more than 19-hundred complaints from people in april.(darya) that's up nearly 70-percent from march and another 70-percent from april of last year. the biggest complaint was flight problems... over 750 people complained about cancellations, delays and missed connections. the vast majority of those complaints were against airlines based in the u-s. (darya) the city of san jose now has an arson team investigating a series of suspicious fires. they are happening along interstate 280 and in the coyote meadows area between the freeway and senter road. firefighters have been called to that area several times recently. they suspect the fires have been set either accidentally or on purpose by the homeless. park rangers have reported new camps and campers popping up in the area. answers.uh, the hard thing about arson is it is really hard to track down and find the people who are the culprits.">(darya) people are encouraged to report anything suspicious ans use the city's arson tip line. ( mark ) breaking news we are following... one person is killed after a stabbing in oakland. it happened just after midnight on macarthur boulevard. officers are still on the scene. no arrests have been made. ( darya ) our top story this morning... details are beginning to emerge about the gunman who opened fire at a u-p-s facility in san francisco.( mark ) kron 4's averi harper is live at that u-p-s facility this morning with the new information about the shooter. averi. ( averi ) it happened on wednesday morning when a u-p-s employee shot and killed three co-workers before killing himself. the shooter has been identified as 38-year-old jimmy lam. right now police and colleagues are having trouble finding a motive in the shooting. a u-p-s union official says lam filed a request back in march to reduce his overtime hours... but it was resolved immediately because it never escalated to a formal grievance. the union says there was no indication of any other problems. police say it appears lam specifically went after the three drivers he killed. two other people were hurt in the shooting, but they are out of the hospital this morning. lam worked for u-p-s for 18-years. ( darya ) and communities all over the bay area are mourning the victims of the shooting. they have been identified as 46-year-old mike lefiti, 50-year-old benson louie, and 56-year-old wayne chan. right now there are growing memorials along the drivers' routes. chan's route was in cole valley and the haight-ashbury neighborhoods in san francisco. employees at stores he delivered to daily say they were more than just clients and he made an effort to get to know ( mark ) breaking business news. amazon has just announced that it is buying whole foods market in a deal that is valued at more than 13 billion dollars. amazon says it will pay 42 dollars a share for the comnpany. whole foods has been under pressure recently to sell itself. investors have criticized the company for its poor performance, and have suggested the chain could be merged with another grocer. recently amazon has been pushing to expand its online grocery business. the deal is expected to close in the second half of this year. ( mark ) happening today - the man charged with the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will be back in court. derick alemna is expected to enter a plea later this morning in oakland. almena is facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire that broke out last december. almena was the man in charge of the warehouse. max harris was also arrested in connection with the fire. investigators say he is the man who organized party the night of the fire. if convicted, each man faces up to 39 years in prison. ( darya ) breaking news we are following this morning... the leader of isis may have been killed in an airstrike. the russian military claims that it killed abu bakr al- baghdadi last month. russian officials say the strikes targeted an isis meeting that was being held in syria. they claim that the strike also killed 30 mid-level isis leaders and about 300 other fighters. u-s officials have not yet confirmed russia's claims. there have been multiple reports of baghdadi's death in the past that have turned out to be false. ( darya ) four years after an east bay man was murdered, his mother is pleading for the public's help in finding her son's killers. aya (eye-yah) nakano was 22-years old when he was shot and killed in oakland. he was on his way home after playing basketball on the cal campus when his car was rear ended. when he got out of his car the other driver and passenger shot and killed him. the murder happened an hour before his birthday. the oakland police department to investigate the murder. 125-thousand dollars is being offered for information that leads to the arrest. aya's mother says she is still hopeful that police will eventually for the ( mark ) a man has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend seven years after her body was found in a suitcase along san francisco's embarcadero. a jury found 54-year-old lee bell guilty of killing pearla louis. louis's body was found near folsom street in may 20-10. bell's d-n-a was found on the suitcase. louis was last seen arguing with bell at a hotel where the two were staying. louis' daughter says she wants her mom to be remembered as a strong woman who tried to leave an abusive relationship, but it was too late. she has some advice for women in similar situations: force you to go backmax szabo, district attorney's office// you understand that in a lot of instances a lot of victims do not want an arrest or prosecution and that's okay. if someone comes to our office we will help that victim get what they need.>( mark ) the san francisco district attorneys office says women should reach out to local groups like the domestic violence consortium if they are ever in a similar situation. ( darya ) a three-year-old girl in stockton has died after undergoing dental surgery. a dentist recommended for three-year-old daleyza (duh-lay-sah) hernandez to have the surgery. she was supposed to have two teeth removed and two teeth capped. the little girl was taken away from the dental office in an ambulance after she went into surgery. a nurse told her parents that her heart had stopped durning the children's dental surgery center: "this is not an easy thing to deal with, i've been doing this for almost ten years had a situation like this.">( darya ) the stockton police department is investigating the case. the child's death is not considered suspicious or criminal. ( mark ) two escaped inmates from georgia who are accused of killing two guards on a prison bus have been captured. donnie rowe and ricky dubose were taken into custody in tennessee last night. the two had been on the run for the past two days. police say they stole multiple cars and robbed two homes during that time. yesterday afternoon a homeowner spotted the men trying to steal his car and called for help: happening along interstate 280 and in the coyote meadows area between the freeway and senter road. firefighters have been called to that area several times recently. they suspect the fires have been set either accidentally or on purpose by the homeless. park rangers have reported new camps and campers popping up in the area. ( mark ) people are encouraged to report anything suspicious ans use the city's arson tip line. ( mark ) happening today... president trump will announce major changes to the u-s relationship with cuba. the president is expected to roll back the obama policy that re-established relations between the country after more than 50 years of isolation. the new policy is expected to restrict travel between the two countries and have new restrictions on american companies trying to do business in cuba. the president plans to announce the new policy during a speech in miami later today. (darya) the number of complaints about airline service is skyrocketing... that is according to a new government study.(mark) the department of transportation said it received more than 19-hundred complaints from people in april.(darya) that's up nearly 70-percent from march and another 70-percent from april of last year. the biggest complaint was flight problems... over 750 people complained about cancellations, delays and missed connections. the vast majority of those complaints were against airlines based in the u-s. ( darya ) breaking news we are following... one person is killed after a stabbing in oakland. it happened just after midnight on macarthur boulevard. officers are still on the scene. no arrests have been made. ( darya ) our top story this morning... details are beginning to emerge about the gunman who opened fire at a u-p-s facility in san francisco.( mark ) kron 4's averi harper is live at that u-p-s facility this morning with the new information about the shooter. averi. ( averi ) it happened on wednesday morning when a u-p-s employee shot and killed three co-workers before killing himself. the shooter has been identified as 38-year-old jimmy lam. right now police and colleagues are having trouble finding a motive in the shooting. a u-p-s union official says lam filed a request back in march to reduce his overtime hours... but it was resolved immediately because it never escalated to a formal grievance. the union says there was no indication of any other problems. police say it appears lam specifically went after the three drivers he killed. two other people were hurt in the shooting, but they are out of the hospital this morning. lam worked for u-p-s for 18-years. ( mark ) happening today - the man charged with the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will be back in court. derick alemna is expected to enter a plea later this morning in oakland. almena is facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fire that broke out last december. almena was the man in charge of the warehouse. max harris was also arrested in connection with the fire. investigators say he is the man who organized party the night of the fire. if convicted, each man faces up to 39 years in prison. ( mark ) breaking news we are following this morning... the leader of isis may have been killed in an airstrike. the russian military claims that it killed abu bakr al- baghdadi last month. russian officials say the strikes targeted an isis meeting that was being held in syria. they claim that the strike also killed 30 mid-level isis leaders and about 300 other fighters. u-s officials have not yet confirmed russia's claims. there have been multiple reports of baghdadi's death in the past that have turned out to be false. ( darya ) and more breaking news... the death toll from the deadly london apartment fire increased overnight to 30. dozens of people are still recovering and officials fear that the death toll could still rise. 125 families were inside the building sleeping when the fire broke out. fire officials are still trying to figure out how the fire started wednesday morning. earlier today...queen elizabeth and prince william spent time visiting the victims at the hospital. ( darya ) today... the jury in the bill cosby rape trial will begin their fifth day of deliberations after signaling that they are deadlocked. the jury has been deliberating since monday and yesterday the judge ordered jurors to continue deliberating. the jury told the judge they were unable to find unanimous consensus on any of the three charges against cosby. cosby is accused of drugging and raping andrea constand in 2004. cosby's publicist says this deadlock is a good sign for the defense team. ( mark ) a rare moment of bipartisanship in the nation's capitol. republicans and democrats faced off in the annual congressional baseball game, just one day after an attack on the republican team during practice. capitol police officer, david bailey, who helped end the attack threw out the first pitch. on wednesday morning, a gunman shot four people at the republican practice field including the majority whip steve scalise. the gunman was killed by police. during the game last night, leaders from both parties called for less heated ( mark ) doctors say congressman scalise remains in critical condtion but his health has improved. ( darya ) low-income families often times, find themselves having to stretch every dollar... and sometimes that means sacrificing foods with nutritional value.( mark ) for those who do need a hand to get by and survive, there are programs here to help. kron 4's jeff pierce shows us how one group in the south bay makes sure people are getting fresh food every day. the second harvest food bank of santa clara and san mateo county parks it's eighteen wheeler in the court yard of the katherine smith elementary school in san jose. from there they unload pallet after pallet of fresh fruits and vegetables and a variety of kitchen staples for the hundreds of low income families that rely on them each month.here in silicon valley just because we have a strong economy doesn't mean we don't have a hunger problem. in fact we call it the silicon valley paradox because the cost of living is so high.we serve over a quarter of a million people a month and that is the equivalent of three sold out crowds a month. so the need in silicon valley is huge.many of those that the second harvest food bank serves are from immigrant communities that are discovering foods they've never encountered before. second harvest has a nutrition program to introduce them to what are their first experince to many foods.we have a lot of people from latin america, vietnam, china and other countries so some food is not familiar to them. so we come out to sites do food demonstrations and cook with food they'll be receiving that day. so they taste the sample they have recipes and when they go home they feel much more empowered to cook with those items.we feel very strongly about getting nutritious food into the hands of families with children.if we start early when kids start to learn to eat and we incorporate these food items already in their diet chances are we are already to fight against future diseases like diabetes and obesity. whether the focus of the second harvest food bank is disease prevention or maintaining a balanced diet for struggling families, it is a mission approached with enthusiam.the more we can do to help them and provide them with resources to get on their feet and to be healthy and to do well in school and at work the better we are for everybody. it's just amazing to be out at sites, engage with clients, learn about their cultures and really help promoting health. it's amazing.in san jose jeff pierce kron four news.
