So a lot of upper 80s. Well see a few more low 90s out in the east bay. The delta all expected to be around that 89 to 92degree range. Slightly cooler along the east bay shoreline, 83 will be the expected high in oakland. 78 for San Francisco. Even along the east the shoreline or the coastline, i should say, the peninsula, it will be mild, 72 at ocean beach and well finish our tour in the north bay, upper 80s in there, mildner san rafael, and mostly clear skies. Things will change as we head into tomorrow. We have a system in the pacific that should bring us rain by tuesday night. As we push the clock forward, by 6 00 in the evening on tuesday, maybe a few light showers up in the north bay. The bay bridge backup breaking up a bit here, though its still slow in the maze. The 880 approach, much improved. San mateo bridge still backed up end to end, 4 minutes from heyward out to san mateo. Golden gate bridge ride, this is about 20 minutes early for the peak of the commute but even so the traffic is crowded but moving. Were backed up through richmond for the westbound ride from richmond parkway to the toll plaza. We got word a while back of a fire that was burning under the freeway, 238, the connecting freeway that runs from the Castro Valley y to the freeway. It turned out that fire was not only adjacent to the freeway, but also adjacent to the bart tracks here at the bay fair station, so because of that, they had to service a while between bay fair and heyward. That was affecting trains on both of these lines, fremont San Francisco and Fremont Richmond and they had to stop service there for a while, which also affected trains on the dublin pleasanton line as well. The good news is theyve managed to extinguish the fire and trains are running again. They have reestablished service between bay fair and heyward but they are looking at 20 minute delays. Remember, thats sufficient to be classified as a major delay. We have video of the bart station . I know we had some available earlier. Im not sure if its Still Available now. But trains are running once again, though it had been delayed for a while. And we will be in recovery mode and remember when bart talks about major delays of 20 minutes, theyre talking about the train delays, passenger delays could actually be considerably more. Lets look at some other traffic issues here. As we look at the ride through palo alto, jammed up in both directions leading to embarcadero road. Still jammed up in and out of San Francisco. Solano county finally in recovery after earlier recurring problems. Your ride to the bay bridge westbound, still slow out of the maze but the drive times are right around 20 minutes. The san mateo bridge still solid from heyward all the way out to san mateo, not a very good ride and your trip here at the Richmond Bridge still slow enough that 580 westbound backs up from just before castro as you try to get out toward midspan. The clouds could build up along the coasts with we head through the mid afternoon but the bay area will be nice. Just a touch cooler than yesterday. Our inland valleys will still be upwards of upper 80s and low 90s, they tuesday, that cooldown goes bay areawide. We have the clouds rolling in and light rain possible late tuesday into early wednesday. Thats when those showers are expected to impact the bay area, mainly the north bay, but it could drop a few drops here and there on the east bay and the peninsula. This individual is in the hospital and precautions are in place to clean all known potential areas of contact to ensure Public Health. That was the Public Health alert sent out to dallas residents about the hospital worker whos now infected with ebola. Authorities say while they are concerned, theres no danger to Residents Health and ebola is not spread through casual contact. The city of dallas now working with the cdc as well as Community Leaders to protect the virus from reaching the public. Airports and hospitals are on high alert. New ebola screenings are in place at jfk and new yorks Public Hospitals are on high alert, too. Bellevue hospital has four isolation rooms where patients could be quarantined. Hospitals have intensified their drills. Theyve sent an actor into the emergency room pretending to be sick to test their staffs readiness. Doctors claim the Public Hospitals are ready to prevent an outbreak. Hospitals, theyre as prepared as they possibly can be to manage and assist patients who present as potential cases of ebola. One of the stories were following this morning, nearly a dozen passengers injured after a ferry boat accident at pier 41 in San Francisco yesterday. Reporter heres what you need to know. The blue and gold fleet, they carry passengers from Fishermans Wharf to alameda and back. This is where the ship or boat slammed into the pylon. Talked to one of the workers with blue and gold. He believes the captain probably was only going 1 to 2 miles an hour. Heres a ship and i want to give you a reference point, its even smaller than this one. The problem is the captain sits on the opposite side of the boat, so there was no way when he backed out could he have seen the pylons, so thats a different issue. This accident injured 10 people, back, neck injuries. They were taken to the hospital, checked out, no life threatening injuries, of course. The peralta was checked out by the coast guard as well as the blue and gold fleet. Its been cleared. Around 12 30 at rodeo beach, coast guard Officials Say the men had been fishing on the rocks when they were swept off the rocks by a sneaker wave. The helicopter crew was able to locate the second man. He died shortly after being brought back to shore. One person is dead, killed in a double shting in oakland shooting in oakland. When officers got there, they found a man and a woman who had been shot. The woman died at the scene. As we continue to track delays in and out of San Francisco, and because of a fire here near 238 and also near the bay fair bart station tracks, we had problems with the delays coming out of Castro Valley on 580 westbound and bart is still recovering now 5 to 10minute delays between heyward and bay fair stations. Looking at the bridges, the bay bridge ride breaking up nicely, finally, so definitely a little lighter here. The san mateo bridge, sadly, no relief. Were looking at solid conditions still from heyward all the way to san mateo, 28 minute drive times. This is the peak time for the Golden Gate Bridge but you wouldnt know it to look at it. It was actually a little earlier than this and for your ride to the Richmond Bridge, were no longer westbound on 580. The police are tell us they have arrested the driver that struck the pedestrian for being under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. That whole area of the east bay shore and embarcadero is going to be shut down for several hours because of the investigation into this vehicle that struck a pedestrian. I had a chance to talk to one of the growers of the pumpkins out here that has worked all year long and they take it very seriously, darya.
