the heaviest rain is over, at least for now, but the runoff is still pouring down out of the mountains here along highway 9 in felton. i found joe english sand-bagging what was once a small drain beside his home. but after a tree came down, the drain became a torrent and english is trying to divert the water away from his home amid the potential for a slide. sot joe english/home threatened by run off highway nine is closed at glen garry drive. a half mile ahead a the road is again blocked for the second time this week by a large slide. as much as an inch of rain per hour overnight has created waterfalls where before there was just a trickle. here in felton grove, just south of the covered bridge, the flashy san lorenzo river stopped just short of flood stage as residents are keeping their fingers crossed. sot karen durham/lives next to river on the border between santa cruz and scotts valley, a 100-foot tall fir tree came down, grazing a home here on carbonera drive, but smashing a pick up in the driveway. no one was hurt. owner david potts, who had play lumber jack to get out, suspects the tree was weaken by the drought. sot david potts/home and truck damaged by tree once again, mountain roads like granite creek in scotts valley are swamped amid dozens of new rock and mud slides. the water is undermining culverts and driveways. and here in paradise park, also along the san lorenzo river, a few low lying garages are under water, but the river stopped just short of causing serious damage and the worst is over, at least for now. hollister is experiencing another wave of heavy flooding. pacheco creek began overflowing just before one p-m this afternoon. causing the levee gave way again. you can see the flooding in this video from our helicoptor partnership with abc7. residents on lovers lane and san felipe road were forced to evacuate for the second time in two weeks. heavy rainfall is expected to continue through the weekend. pit has been raining off and on through out the day all across the bay area. in the east bay, there have been reports of downed trees and flooded roadways. kron 4's charles clifford is live for us tonight in martinez with a look at some of the problems. charles? weather in the bay area calls for fresh snowfall in the sierra mountains. another 2 to 3-feet could fall between now and tomorrow morning..and the heaviest snow will fall on sunday into monday. this footage from truckee near lake tahoe.shows northstar ski resort today. employees there have been working almost constanly to carve out walkways to the lifts. outdoor seating areas were completely covered overnight. though today it looked pretty calm.high winds and heavy snowfall is on its way.which cold bring periods of white out conditions. parts of southern california are still being hit almost around the clock to pump water from yards and garages. this is the lakeside neighborhood of the city.where not only has a nearby creek caused serious flooding.people who live here say it happens every time there's heavy rain. it's just one of the places where stormy weather is creating an ongoing headache for homeowners. some argue the county hasn't been helping much. county leaders say there's a project on the books to prevent the creek from flooding homes.but argue there's just no money right now. it doesn't sound like the problem will be fixed soon. the overflow from the creek is supposed to be diverted onto the main road.but instead the water flows into the nearby yards. san diego county says the 'ultimate responsibility' of protecting property belongs to the homeowners. showers will continue on and off tonight with the possibliliy of an isolated thunderstorm. more showers are expected on saturday before turning to rain with gusty winds on saturday ight. a new study the 45th president of the united states. the inauguration parade for president trump took place down pennsylvania avenue this afternoon. now the focus is on the three official inaugeral balls. trump and first lady melania are expected at all three. meanwhile today's events were met with some backlash. in total, more than 200 people were arrested during protests throughout the day in washington, d.c. organizers say far fewer people were at president donald trump's inauguration than attended president barack obama's first swearing-in eight years ago. in san francisco. nats- "two, four, six, eight. no to trump, no to hate." while president donald trump was taking the oath of office. protestors took to the streets. a demonstration carried out by hundreds, denouncing president trump along market street and into the financial district. protestors made stops at financial institutions and government agencies, blocking traffic along the way. the san francisco police department was along just popped. at four in the morning we heard the gurgling from the toilet. this time we were able to move our car before it floated away. we got it out of the driveway just before the whole street became an ocean of water. i thought it would be okay because the firefighters came and unclogged everything but i guess it was too late the damage was already done. raoul cobar was not so fortunate. he was vacuming sewer water out of his car. backs up out of the sewer, sewer can't take it, popped the manhole covers off, there you are. this is not the first time this block on cayugo avenue flooded with a sewer backup. residents thought public works had taken care of the problem two years ago. wrong end of the sewer, that was like a swimming pool back there, second time. we thought the city would take care of things and we would be safe and it's a year and a half later and it happened again. as many as twenty homes have been affected, they are facing sewer contamination issues. two years ago they said we had to get rid of everything, our furniture, we couldn't have things cleaned,they said there's bacteria that can kill you in three days. city officials say that each home will be tested for contamination and they can apply for damage claims. while residents wait to hear from city officials there is little they can do now but sort through what they might be able to save. there york authorities. he was extradited from mexico late yesterday. he was brought to a brooklyn courtroom today.after being indicted on charges that he ran a huge drug trafficking operation. and oversaw murders and kidnappings. the government also wants a 14- billion dollar forfeiture order as part of its prosecution. u.s. prosecutors say guzman was frighteningly effective at running his business.
