( james ) our top story comes from san francisco... where the hunt is on for the gunman who shot and killed a 15-year old. the shooting happened in the city's sunset district right in the middle of the day. kron four's j-r stone talked to people in the neighborhood who are stunned by what happened. .. well if they are, they aren't telling us. only saying that no arrests have not been made in this case. one that ended within fifty feet from where i'm standing tonight.soti'm making lunch and it was kinda pow pow powall of a sudden boom boom boom boom at least six or so witnesses describing the moments when gunshots rang out in the sunset district of san francisco just after noon on monday. a short time after those shots were fired emergency crews arrived. they immediately began performing cpr on the 15-year-old victim. sot we saw the young boy he was just laying there he was not moving he was not moving so we didn't know.sot the car that he was driving had anywhere from 4 to 5 bullet holes on the driver's sidethe teen was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead a short time later. we broke the news to at least one witness.sot he died??? oh i didn't know he died. okayhe wasn't moving when we saw him but we didn't know if he was dead or alive. oh wowthat's too badi don't know if it was in the ambulance or at the hospital buti didn' tknow that oh wow. news of the killing spread quickly in the neighborhood. at this point though, no word on what led up to the shooting. sot just saw the car sitting there stopped then it went a little bit more and a little bit moreit's just not right.sot we've never experienced anything like this sunset district is a very safe neighborhood you know we have a lot of homeowners here who have lived here for 30 or 40 years so to have something like this happen at home and in the middle of the day is scaryyeah really scary. no descriptions of the gunman or a possible suspect vehicle have been released. the identity of the 15-year-old vicitm also has not been released. live in san francisco, j.r. stone kron 4 news. ( james ) breaking overnight... a car smashes into a pet store in the north bay. this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa. the store is called village pets. it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to the crash. ( james ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( james ) happening today. closing arguments in murder trial of sierra lamar's accused killer are set for this morning. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. 15 year old lamar went missing in march of 20-12. 26-year-old antolin garcia- torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four will be there. ( james ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( james ) a deadly day in texas. two separate violent incidents happened in two major cities: dallas and austin. both situations claimed lives and may become more deadly. mary moloney explains. dallas -- a paramedic treating a gunshot victim -- was shot.a police sergeant pulled the injured paramedic to safety. chief david pughes/dallas police dept.: "as a result of those actions, that paramedic's life was saved." police acting on a tip searched a house.and found the suspected shooter dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. crews also found another person dead.about two hundred miles away at the university of texas, at austin -- police say a student armed with a knife stabbed several people. rachel pritchett/ut freshman: "while i was running away, i saw this other guy that was kind of bloodied up sitting at a table slumped over. there was someone standing next to him yelling, get away!"one person died on campus -- three others were taken to the hospital.police took the suspected stabber into custody. gregory l. fenves/university of texas at austin president: "at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and the families of this incredibly senseless attack."governor greg abbott released a statement about the violence saying in part"our prayers go out to all those affected... as the investigations into these heinous crimes continue, i have offered all available state resources to both dallas and the university of texas to assist in any effort."i'm mary moloney reporting. ( james ) a barrage of police bullets brought to an end a deadly shooting rampage in san diego. we are learning new details this morning about the gunman who shot seven people at a pool party in san diego before being shot to death ( james @ landing ) one of his victims died, two others remain in critical condition this morning. the shooter is being identified as 49- year-old peter selis ((suhl- us)). kron four's catherine heenan shows us what may have motivated the shooting. chief shelley zimmerman/san diego police> "selis does live in the complex and he entered the complex and lay on a lounge chair." "he was very docile, in his facial expression there was no smiling, laughing, talking for that matter. he did kind of, i'm not gonna say stare at our party but he looked over at our party multiple times." "no one knew him but one of my friends who actually got hit multiple times saw him sitting there so he went over there and offered him food, drink, whatever. said hey. introduced himself. said this is my party, you're welcome to hang out. can i get you something." natthat is when the shooter opened fire, striking the host and one other person,neighbors used their phones to record the scene as police responded. "rp heard five or six gunshots and now people are screaming ... more nat "suspect is reloading his gun in the pool area. ... he's sitting in a lawn chair, telling people to leave."police say selis was despondent over a breakup with his girlfriend a few days earlier... and called her after he began his shooting rampage. "selis told his ex girlfriend that he had just shot two people and that police had arrved on the scene. selis stayed on the phone talking to his ex girlfield as he continued to fire his weapon." according to police, four women and three men were shot, one man broke his arm as he tried to run from the scene. "there is zero information to indicate race played a role," catherine heenan, kron four news ( james ) in the east bay. investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at two buildings in concord. several homes in the neighborhood were threatened. it happened yesterday afternoon on concord boulevard. the fire burned two garages. one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. ( james ) a hiker is recovering this morning after a rattlesnake bit him. authorities say the 47-year- old man was at the top of mission peak yesterday afternoon when he was bit on the hand. the response by emergency crews was delayed because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( james ) m-l-b star adam jones says he was taunted with racial slurs at fenway park in boston. he claims this happened during last night's orioles-red sox game. someone in the crowd threw a bag of peanuts at jones. red sox officials say the fan who threw the bag was ejected from the stadium. jones, who is african-american says he was also called the n-word quote "a handful of times." the outfielder called it pathetic and one of the worst experiences in his 12-year- career. ( james ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. but those close to him say his mental health was never in question back in high school. ( james ) butler will be back in court on june 8th. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) the search continues this morning for the gunman who shot and killed a 15- year-old in san francisco. it happened in the sunset district yesterday afternoon... right near st. ignatius high school. police say the teen was not a student at that school. he was driving in the area when someone opened fire. people who live nearby say they are shocked this happened in their neighborhood. ..( mark ) right now police do not know what led up to the shooting and there is no description of the gunman. the teen who was killed has not been identified. ( darya ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( mark ) breaking overnight... a car crashes through a pet store in the north bay. anny hong is following the latest from the breaking news desk. anny. (anny) this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa and this morning we are getting our first look at the damage. take a look at these pictures. the store is called village pets. it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. you can see the car went right through the front of the store. police say there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to the crash. i will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom. back to you. . ( darya ) at least 4 people are under arrest after the may day protests in oakland. hundreds of people turned out to the city's fruitvale district in support of workers right's and immigrants.( darya ) those taking part were a broad coalition of unions, workers, and students from a variety of schools that walked out earlier in the day. ( darya ) and the may day protest in san francisco was mostly peaceful despite the large crowds. the event yesterday targeted president trump's policies on illegal immigration. many people took the day off work to send their message. they say the only reason they are in the u-s is for a better life. ( darya ) people who participated in the event say it was not just a protest... but a celebration of what immigrants bring to the u-s. ( darya ) not all of the protests remained peaceful across the country. in several states there were clashes between protesters and police. in both oregon and washington state police say several protesters started throwing things at officers including molotov cocktails. a dozen protesters were arrested in new york on charges of civil disobedience. ( mark ) happening today. closing arguments are set this morning in the trial of the man accused of killing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. sierra went missing in march of 20-12. she was 15 years old. her body has never been found. 26-year-old antolin garcia-torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four news will have a reporter in the courtroom. ( mark ) a dish washer at a half moon bay restaurant is arrested and accused of recording women and children inside a restroom. police say 27-year-old pedro jeronimo- gonzalez hid a cell phone in the woman's bathroom at "jersey joe's coastside." he was a part-time employee who had been working there for about six months. a woman found the phone on saturday and called police. the phone captured video of two women and four children using the restroom. the restaurant's owner says he can't believe what his employee is accused of doing: because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( darya ) the city of san francisco has settled a lawsuit with short-term rental website air b-n-b. the company took the city to court saying regular registration requirements don't apply to air b-n-b because it's an online company. the settlement now requires air b-n-b hosts to register on the site before they can list a property. the company will also have a monthly list of short-term rentals in san francisco. that's so they can verify and enforce registration. ( darya ) the settlement will start impacting new renters in about four months. current renters will have a few months after that to start following the new requirements. ( mark ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( darya ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. butler will be back in court next month. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) two of the students injured in a stabbing attack on the campus of the university of texas at austin were released from the hospital overnight. the attack happened yesterday when a student armed with a knife stabbed several people...killing one. police say the suspect is 21-year-old kendrex white. police say white surrendered after the stabbings and they are trying to figure out a motive. one victim is still recovering from their injuries. ( mark ) police believe there is no longer a threat to the school community but there will be extra officers on campus today as a precaution. ( mark ) and in dallas, a man opened fire on paramedics who were responding to a call. one of those paramedics is in critical condition this morning. police say the man shot and injured his neighbor yesterday morning. the shooter then started firing at emergency workers who responded to the scene. police say the gunman killed himself inside a home after a standoff with police. ( mark ) a man and a young girl killed in a crash on i-880 have been identified. police say 23-year-old dion christy and 5-year-old neveah brown were both from oakland. the crash happened just after 5:00 yesterday morning... south of fifth avenue on 880. our robin winston alerted you to the crash yesterday morning when it happened. police say a speeding black b-m-w veered off the road and hit the truck on the shoulder.... then the b-m-w was hit by a pickup truck. the man and little girl who were killed were sitting in the back of the b-m-w. ( mark ) police in los alto arrest a man in connection with several cases of indecent exposure. police say 25-year-old christian itule has targeted at least seven victims ranging in age from 11 to 16. the latest incident happened on april 26th. police say itule was driving a tan sedan when he approached one of the victims. the victim contacted police who found the car and the suspect. he was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure and seven counts of annoying a child. ( darya ) new this morning... we are hearing from one of the victims injured in a deadly shooting at a pool party in san diego. police say the man who opened fire at the party was upset about a recent breakup and even called his ex-girlfriend during the attack so she could listen. the shooter has been identified as peter selis. six other people were injured in the shooting. one of the victims says he is grateful for the first responders. minor injuries. ( mark ) president trump says congress has enough votes to pass a new healthcare bill but some congressional leaders say they are not there yet. republicans are trying to get the bill passed before congress takes a recess on thursday. but some members of congress say they still lack the 216 votes necessary to pass the bill. there is now a debate between conservative and moderate republicans over a new amendment that allows states to opt out of providing coverage for pre-existing conditions. < i have concerns about the health care bill in its current form. amendment that's offered does weaken protections for people with pro exist with pre-existing conditions. that's a big concern for many of the center right members with whom i'm affiliated with. >( mark ) some members of congress say a vote on the healthcare bill could come this week. but congressional leaders say they will not move forward with the vote until they are certain they have enough votes for it to pass. ( darya ) happening now... police are looking for a german shepard that was stolen from his home in castro valley. murfee is a rescue mentor dog. he was stolen from his home on palomares road over the weekend. police say murfee has helped to mentor hundreds of rescued german shepherd dogs to help them learn proper social skills before they moved on to their homes. murfee was taken into police protective custody after he was thrown against a wall during a domestic violence dispute. there is a 7-thousand dollar reward for murfee's safe return. ( mark ) two people are rescued after their raft flipped over on the american river. it happened when the raft hit the sunrise boulevard foot-bridge. five people were on-board the raft. three made it to shore, but the other two got stuck in the current. firefighters were nearby and rescued them. rescue crews say no one was wearing a life jacket when the boat flipped. ( mark ) experts say you need to be very careful getting into rivers and lakes this summer because water levels are higher than normal. ( darya ) this morning we are learning details about an f-b-i translator who went rogue and married an isis terrorist. daniela greene went to syria in 2014 after telling the f-b-i she was going on vacation. that is where she married an isis operative who she had been assigned to investigate. the man greene married is an online recruiter for isis. within weeks of the marriage greene came back to the u-s and was immediately arrested. she was sentenced to two years in federal prison and was released last summer. ( mark ) the state department is issuing a travel warning for americans going to europe. the warning cited several recent terror attacks in europe including the most recent attacks in france and the u-k. the state department says the terror threat in europe is as high as it has ever been. u-s officials estimate that nearly two-thousand foreign fighters have returned to europe and many of them are still committed to terror groups like isis. ( darya ) the healthy school lunch policy started by former first lady michelle obama has ended. the agriculture secretary announced yesterday changes to school lunches that reduce whole grain requirements and lowers sodium levels in food. the new policy also changes the rule requiring schools to serve non-fat milk. also, the "let girls learn" initiative... which was championed by the former first lady... was abolished. that program was meant to encourage education for young girls in developing countries. ( darya ) president trump has now opened the door to a future meeting with north korean president kim jong-un the president says he would be "honored" to meet with him if it is under the right circumstances because he thinks kim is a quote "smart cookie." no sitting u-s president has ever met with the leader of north korea. president trump's comment about meeting kim comes as tensions have risen in recent months between the u-s and north korea as pyongyang advances its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. white house press secretary sean spicer says the trump administration would have to see changes with north korea for a potential meeting to happen. ( darya ) the north korean nuclear issue has quickly become one of the top national security concerns for the trump administration and officials have repeatedly stressed the increasing urgency of the situation. ( darya ) the search continues this morning for the gunman who shot and killed a 15-year-old in san francisco. anny hong is here with the latest on the shooting. anny? ( anny @ flash ) it happened in the sunset district yesterday afternoon... right near st. ignatius high school. police say the teen was not a student at s-i. he was driving in the area when someone opened fire. people who live nearby say they are shocked this happened in a neighborhood that's usually quiet and family friendly. ( anny @ flash ) right now police do not know what led up to the shooting and there is no description of the gunman. the teen who was killed has not been identified. ( mark ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( mark ) breaking overnight... a car crashes through a pet store in the north bay. take a look at the damage. this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa at a store called "village pets." it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. you can see the car went right through the front of the store. there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to teh crash. i will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom. ( darya ) at least 4 people are under arrest after the may day protests in oakland. hundreds of people turned out to the city's fruitvale district in support of workers right's and immigrants.( darya ) those taking part were a broad coalition of unions, workers, and students from a variety of schools that walked out earlier in the day. ( darya ) and the may day protest in san francisco had huge crowds turn out for the event. the event yesterday targeted president trump's policies on immigration. many people took the day off work to send their message. they say the only reason they are in the u-s is for a better life. ( darya ) people who participated in the event say it was not just a protest... but a celebration of what immigrants bring to the u-s. ( darya ) not all of the protests remained peaceful across the country. in several states there were clashes between protesters and police. in both oregon and washington state police say several protesters started throwing things at officers including molotov cocktails. a dozen protesters were arrested in new york on charges of civil disobedience. ( mark ) happening today. closing arguments are set this morning in the trial of the man accused of killing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. sierra went missing in march of 20-12. she was 15 years old. her body has never been found. 26-year-old antolin garcia-torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four news will have a reporter in the courtroom. ( mark ) a dish washer at a half moon bay restaurant is arrested and accused of recording women and children inside a restroom. police say 27-year-old pedro jeronimo- gonzalez hid a cell phone in the woman's bathroom at "jersey joe's coastside." he was a part-time employee who had been working there for about six months. a woman found the phone on saturday and called police. the phone captured video of two women and four children using the restroom. the restaurant's owner says he can't believe what his employee is accused of doing: by emergency crews was delayed because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( darya ) the city of san francisco has settled a lawsuit with short-term rental website air b-n-b. the company took the city to court saying regular registration requirements don't apply to air b-n-b because it's an online company. the settlement now requires air b-n-b hosts to register on the site before they can list a property. the company will also have a monthly list of short-term rentals in san francisco. that's so they can verify and enforce registration. and it better protects the city's housing supply."peter kwan, airbnb host: "hopefully in this way the listing websites will be purged of all those bad actors.">( darya ) the settlement will start impacting new renters in about four months. current renters will have a few months after that to start following the new requirements. ( mark ) new this morning... we now know the hoverboard brand linked to a house fire that killed two girls in pennsylvania. the u-s consumer product safety commission is warning people to stop using and charging "lay-z board hoverboards" investigators directly linked that hoverboard to a deadly fire on march 10th. a two-year-old and ten-year-old girl were killed in that fire. the safety commision says more than three-thousand "lay- z board hoverboards" were distrubed in the u-s. ( darya ) president trump is making headlines for some questionable comments he made about the civil war and president andrew jackson. and this morning he is sticking by what he said. anny hong is here with president trump's claims and how a bay area congresswoman is responding. anny. ( anny @ flash ) during an interview with the washington examiner, president trump suggested that president andrew jackson might have been able to stop the civil war before the conflict started. take a listen. he later sent out this tweet yesterday saying in part that president jackson would have never let the civil war happen. president jackson died more than a decade before the civil war started in 18-61. historians say president trump's comments about both the war and jackson disregard key historical events. slavery was the underlying issue fueling the fight over states' rights that ultimately led to the civil war. u-s congresswoman barbara lee - who represents parts of the east bay.... responded to president trump's questions about the civil war. the representative tweeted quote 'president trump doesn't understand why there was a civil war. it's because my ancestors and millions of others were enslaved.' ) back to you. . ( mark ) happening today... united airlines c-e-o oscar munoz is set to testify on capitol hill. congress is examining customer service by u-s airlines and how it can be improved. the hearing by the house transportation committee comes amid worldwide outrage sparked when a passenger was dragged off a united flight after refusing to give up his seat to a crew member. lawmakers are expected to ask questions about customer-service policies and what is being done to improve service for the public. last week, united reached a settlement with passenger doctor david dao and issued new policies to prevent customer-service failures. ( mark ) former "bachelor" star chris soules is due in court for his role in a deadly crash. police say he left the scene after his truck rear- ended a man on a tractor last week. that man later died. if convicted, he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison. ( darya ) gun sales spike after mass shotings due to concerns over safety. that is according to new information released this morning. the survey tracked handgun sales in california after two mass shootings. after the 20-12 newtown, connecticut shooting there was a 53-percent increase in gun sales across the state. after the 20-15 san bernardino shooting, there was a 41-percent increase. the findings support the notion that fear is partly behind the spikes in handgun buys after each tragedy. ( darya ) the co-president of fox news has been let go. the network says bill shine resigned from his position yesterday. this comes after fox news fired bill o'reilly and c-e-o roger ailes over sexual harrassment allegations. this also comes after o'reilly and fox news paid out millions of dollars to settle claims. insiders say shine did not properly investigate the sexual harassment allegations at the time and that ultimately lead to him stepping down. ( darya ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. butler will be back in court next month. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( mark ) a man and a young girl killed in a crash on i-880 have been identified. police say 23-year-old dion christy and 5-year-old neveah brown were both from oakland. the crash happened just after 5:00 yesterday morning... south of fifth avenue on 880. our robin winston covered the story for you yesterday morning when it happened. police say a speeding black b-m-w veered off the road and hit the truck on the shoulder.... then the b-m-w was hit by a pickup truck. the man and little girl who were killed were sitting in the back of the b-m-w. ( mark ) police in los alto arrest a man in connection with several cases of indecent exposure. police say 25-year-old christian itule has targeted at least seven victims ranging in age from 11 to 16. the latest incident happened on april 26th. police say itule was driving a tan sedan when he approached one of the victims. the victim contacted police who found the car and the suspect. he was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure and seven counts of annoying a child. ( darya ) new this morning... we have cell phone video showing the gunman in the deadly san diego shooting lounging in a chair at the pool with a gun. anny hong is here with a closer look at the video and what one of the victims injured in the shooting is saying about the incident. anny. ( anny @ flash ) polie say this all happened after peter selis broke up with his girlfriend... shooting and killing a mother and wounding six other people. police say selis sat down and called his ex-girlfriend to tell her he shot two people at his apartment complex during a birthday pool party. take a listen to this cell phone video of the shooter sitting by the pool. police say the 49-year- old kept his ex-girlfirend on the phone as he shot more people at random. a guest at the party even said the "birthday boy" approached selis initially to invite him into the party before the shooting began. police responding to the scene ended up shooting and killing selis after he turned his gun on officers. went through but i'm glad that i'm alright. i'm glad that most of my friends are alright.>( anny @ flash ) selis' was killed by police after he shot at them. they say he had no criminal history and did have a registered handgun. ( darya ) a fire ripped through a homeless encampment in oakland last night. it happened underneath the 580 overpass near the emeryville border. there are no reports of any injuries. ( darya @ land ) investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at two buildings in concord. several homes in the neighborhood were threatened. it happened yesterday afternoon on concord boulevard. the fire burned two garages. one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. ( mark ) president trump says congress has enough votes to pass a new healthcare bill but some congressional leaders say they are not there yet. republicans are trying to get the bill passed before congress takes a recess on thursday. but some members of congress say they still lack the 216 votes necessary to pass the bill. there is now a debate between conservative and moderate republicans over a new amendment that allows states to opt out of providing coverage for pre-existing conditions. < i have concerns about the health care bill in its current form. amendment that's offered does weaken protections for people with pro exist with pre-existing conditions. that's a big concern for many of the center right members with whom i'm affiliated with. >( mark ) some members of congress say a vote on the healthcare bill could come this week. but congressional leaders say they will not move forward with the vote until they are certain they have enough votes for it to pass. ( anny @ land ) murfee is a rescue mentor dog. he was stolen from his home on palomares road over the weekend. police say murfee has helped to mentor hundreds of rescued german shepherd dogs to help them learn proper social skills before they moved on to their homes. murfee was taken into police protective custody after he was thrown against a wall during a domestic violence dispute. there is a 7- thousand dollar reward for murfee's safe return. ( mark ) former 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick is lending a helping hand to people in new york city. he donated dozens of custom made suits to the company "100 suits." they are an organzation that helps give out free business clothes people who are looking for jobs. kaepernick says he will continue to donate his money to causes that promote social justice. he also recently donated 50-thousand dollars to "meals on wheels" and helped pay for an airplane that sent food to somalia. ( james ) our top story comes from san francisco... where the hunt is on for the gunman who shot and killed a 15-year old. the shooting happened in the city's sunset district right in the middle of the day. kron four's j-r stone talked to people in the neighborhood who are stunned by what happened. .. well if they are, they aren't telling us. only saying that no arrests have not been made in this case. one that ended within fifty feet from where i'm standing tonight.soti'm making lunch and it was kinda pow pow powall of a sudden boom boom boom boom at least six or so witnesses describing the moments when gunshots rang out in the sunset district of san francisco just after noon on monday. a short time after those shots were fired emergency crews arrived. they immediately began performing cpr on the 15-year-old victim. sot we saw the young boy he was just laying there he was not moving he was not moving so we didn't know.sot the car that he was driving had anywhere from 4 to 5 bullet holes on the driver's sidethe teen was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead a short time later. we broke the news to at least one witness.sot he died??? oh i didn't know he died. okayhe wasn't moving when we saw him but we didn't know if he was dead or alive. oh wowthat's too badi don't know if it was in the ambulance or at the hospital buti didn' tknow that oh wow. news of the killing spread quickly in the neighborhood. at this point though, no word on what led up to the shooting. sot just saw the car sitting there stopped then it went a little bit more and a little bit moreit's just not right.sot we've never experienced anything like this sunset district is a very safe neighborhood you know we have a lot of homeowners here who have lived here for 30 or 40 years so to have something like this happen at home and in the middle of the day is scaryyeah really scary. no descriptions of the gunman or a possible suspect vehicle have been released. the identity of the 15-year-old vicitm also has not been released. live in san francisco, j.r. stone kron 4 news. ( james ) breaking overnight... a car smashes into a pet store in the north bay. this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa. the store is called village pets. it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to the crash. ( james ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( james ) happening today. closing arguments in murder trial of sierra lamar's accused killer are set for this morning. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. 15 year old lamar went missing in march of 20-12. 26-year-old antolin garcia- torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four will be there. ( james ) officials are still working to figure out what sparked a fire at a homeless encampment in oakland. it happened just after 8:00 last night near the emeryville border. fire officials say the blaze was burning underneath the highway's overpass. there are no reports of any injuries this morning. ( james ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( james ) a deadly day in texas. two separate violent incidents happened in two major cities: dallas and austin. both situations claimed lives and may become more deadly. mary moloney explains. dallas -- a paramedic treating a gunshot victim -- was shot.a police sergeant pulled the injured paramedic to safety. chief david pughes/dallas police dept.: "as a result of those actions, that paramedic's life was saved." police acting on a tip searched a house.and found the suspected shooter dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. crews also found another person dead.about two hundred miles away at the university of texas, at austin -- police say a student armed with a knife stabbed several people. rachel pritchett/ut freshman: "while i was running away, i saw this other guy that was kind of bloodied up sitting at a table slumped over. there was someone standing next to him yelling, get away!"one person died on campus -- three others were taken to the hospital.police took the suspected stabber into custody. gregory l. fenves/university of texas at austin president: "at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and the families of this incredibly senseless attack."governor greg abbott released a statement about the violence saying in part"our prayers go out to all those affected... as the investigations into these heinous crimes continue, i have offered all available state resources to both dallas and the university of texas to assist in any effort."i'm mary moloney reporting. ( james ) a barrage of police bullets brought to an end a deadly shooting rampage in san diego. we are learning new details this morning about the gunman who shot seven people at a pool party in san diego before being shot to death ( james @ landing ) one of his victims died, two others remain in critical condition this morning. the shooter is being identified as 49- year-old peter selis ((suhl- us)). kron four's catherine heenan shows us what may have motivated the shooting. chief shelley zimmerman/san diego police> "selis does live in the complex and he entered the complex and lay on a lounge chair." "he was very docile, in his facial expression there was no smiling, laughing, talking for that matter. he did kind of, i'm not gonna say stare at our party but he looked over at our party multiple times." "no one knew him but one of my friends who actually got hit multiple times saw him sitting there so he went over there and offered him food, drink, whatever. said hey. introduced himself. said this is my party, you're welcome to hang out. can i get you something." natthat is when the shooter opened fire, striking the host and one other person,neighbors used their phones to record the scene as police responded. "rp heard five or six gunshots and now people are screaming ... more nat "suspect is reloading his gun in the pool area. ... he's sitting in a lawn chair, telling people to leave."police say selis was despondent over a breakup with his girlfriend a few days earlier... and called her after he began his shooting rampage. "selis told his ex girlfriend that he had just shot two people and that police had arrved on the scene. selis stayed on the phone talking to his ex girlfield as he continued to fire his weapon." according to police, four women and three men were shot, one man broke his arm as he tried to run from the scene. "there is zero information to indicate race played a role," catherine heenan, kron four news ( james ) in the east bay. investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at two buildings in concord. several homes in the neighborhood were threatened. it happened yesterday afternoon on concord boulevard. the fire burned two garages. one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. ( james ) a hiker is recovering this morning after a rattlesnake bit him. authorities say the 47-year- old man was at the top of mission peak yesterday afternoon when he was bit on the hand. the response by emergency crews was delayed because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( james ) m-l-b star adam jones says he was taunted with racial slurs at fenway park in boston. he claims this happened during last night's orioles-red sox game. someone in the crowd threw a bag of peanuts at jones. red sox officials say the fan who threw the bag was ejected from the stadium. jones, who is african-american says he was also called the n-word quote "a handful of times." the outfielder called it pathetic and one of the worst experiences in his 12-year- career. ( james ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. but those close to him say his mental health was never in question back in high school. ( james ) butler will be back in court on june 8th. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) the search continues this morning for the gunman who shot and killed a 15- year-old in san francisco. it happened in the sunset district yesterday afternoon... right near st. ignatius high school. police say the teen was not a student at that school. he was driving in the area when someone opened fire. people who live nearby say they are shocked this happened in their neighborhood. ..( mark ) right now police do not know what led up to the shooting and there is no description of the gunman. the teen who was killed has not been identified. ( darya ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( mark ) breaking overnight... a car crashes through a pet store in the north bay. anny hong is following the latest from the breaking news desk. anny. (anny) this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa and this morning we are getting our first look at the damage. take a look at these pictures. the store is called village pets. it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. you can see the car went right through the front of the store. police say there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to the crash. i will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom. back to you. . ( darya ) at least 4 people are under arrest after the may day protests in oakland. hundreds of people turned out to the city's fruitvale district in support of workers right's and immigrants.( darya ) those taking part were a broad coalition of unions, workers, and students from a variety of schools that walked out earlier in the day. ( darya ) and the may day protest in san francisco was mostly peaceful despite the large crowds. the event yesterday targeted president trump's policies on illegal immigration. many people took the day off work to send their message. they say the only reason they are in the u-s is for a better life. ( darya ) people who participated in the event say it was not just a protest... but a celebration of what immigrants bring to the u-s. ( darya ) not all of the protests remained peaceful across the country. in several states there were clashes between protesters and police. in both oregon and washington state police say several protesters started throwing things at officers including molotov cocktails. a dozen protesters were arrested in new york on charges of civil disobedience. ( mark ) happening today. closing arguments are set this morning in the trial of the man accused of killing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. sierra went missing in march of 20-12. she was 15 years old. her body has never been found. 26-year-old antolin garcia-torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four news will have a reporter in the courtroom. ( mark ) a dish washer at a half moon bay restaurant is arrested and accused of recording women and children inside a restroom. police say 27-year-old pedro jeronimo- gonzalez hid a cell phone in the woman's bathroom at "jersey joe's coastside." he was a part-time employee who had been working there for about six months. a woman found the phone on saturday and called police. the phone captured video of two women and four children using the restroom. the restaurant's owner says he can't believe what his employee is accused of doing: because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( darya ) the city of san francisco has settled a lawsuit with short-term rental website air b-n-b. the company took the city to court saying regular registration requirements don't apply to air b-n-b because it's an online company. the settlement now requires air b-n-b hosts to register on the site before they can list a property. the company will also have a monthly list of short-term rentals in san francisco. that's so they can verify and enforce registration. ( darya ) the settlement will start impacting new renters in about four months. current renters will have a few months after that to start following the new requirements. ( mark ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( darya ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. butler will be back in court next month. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) two of the students injured in a stabbing attack on the campus of the university of texas at austin were released from the hospital overnight. the attack happened yesterday when a student armed with a knife stabbed several people...killing one. police say the suspect is 21-year-old kendrex white. police say white surrendered after the stabbings and they are trying to figure out a motive. one victim is still recovering from their injuries. ( mark ) police believe there is no longer a threat to the school community but there will be extra officers on campus today as a precaution. ( mark ) and in dallas, a man opened fire on paramedics who were responding to a call. one of those paramedics is in critical condition this morning. police say the man shot and injured his neighbor yesterday morning. the shooter then started firing at emergency workers who responded to the scene. police say the gunman killed himself inside a home after a standoff with police. ( mark ) a man and a young girl killed in a crash on i-880 have been identified. police say 23-year-old dion christy and 5-year-old neveah brown were both from oakland. the crash happened just after 5:00 yesterday morning... south of fifth avenue on 880. our robin winston alerted you to the crash yesterday morning when it happened. police say a speeding black b-m-w veered off the road and hit the truck on the shoulder.... then the b-m-w was hit by a pickup truck. the man and little girl who were killed were sitting in the back of the b-m-w. ( mark ) police in los alto arrest a man in connection with several cases of indecent exposure. police say 25-year-old christian itule has targeted at least seven victims ranging in age from 11 to 16. the latest incident happened on april 26th. police say itule was driving a tan sedan when he approached one of the victims. the victim contacted police who found the car and the suspect. he was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure and seven counts of annoying a child. ( darya ) new this morning... we are hearing from one of the victims injured in a deadly shooting at a pool party in san diego. police say the man who opened fire at the party was upset about a recent breakup and even called his ex-girlfriend during the attack so she could listen. the shooter has been identified as peter selis. six other people were injured in the shooting. one of the victims says he is grateful for the first responders. minor injuries. ( mark ) president trump says congress has enough votes to pass a new healthcare bill but some congressional leaders say they are not there yet. republicans are trying to get the bill passed before congress takes a recess on thursday. but some members of congress say they still lack the 216 votes necessary to pass the bill. there is now a debate between conservative and moderate republicans over a new amendment that allows states to opt out of providing coverage for pre-existing conditions. < i have concerns about the health care bill in its current form. amendment that's offered does weaken protections for people with pro exist with pre-existing conditions. that's a big concern for many of the center right members with whom i'm affiliated with. >( mark ) some members of congress say a vote on the healthcare bill could come this week. but congressional leaders say they will not move forward with the vote until they are certain they have enough votes for it to pass. ( darya ) happening now... police are looking for a german shepard that was stolen from his home in castro valley. murfee is a rescue mentor dog. he was stolen from his home on palomares road over the weekend. police say murfee has helped to mentor hundreds of rescued german shepherd dogs to help them learn proper social skills before they moved on to their homes. murfee was taken into police protective custody after he was thrown against a wall during a domestic violence dispute. there is a 7-thousand dollar reward for murfee's safe return. ( mark ) two people are rescued after their raft flipped over on the american river. it happened when the raft hit the sunrise boulevard foot-bridge. five people were on-board the raft. three made it to shore, but the other two got stuck in the current. firefighters were nearby and rescued them. rescue crews say no one was wearing a life jacket when the boat flipped. ( mark ) experts say you need to be very careful getting into rivers and lakes this summer because water levels are higher than normal. ( darya ) this morning we are learning details about an f-b-i translator who went rogue and married an isis terrorist. daniela greene went to syria in 2014 after telling the f-b-i she was going on vacation. that is where she married an isis operative who she had been assigned to investigate. the man greene married is an online recruiter for isis. within weeks of the marriage greene came back to the u-s and was immediately arrested. she was sentenced to two years in federal prison and was released last summer. ( mark ) the state department is issuing a travel warning for americans going to europe. the warning cited several recent terror attacks in europe including the most recent attacks in france and the u-k. the state department says the terror threat in europe is as high as it has ever been. u-s officials estimate that nearly two-thousand foreign fighters have returned to europe and many of them are still committed to terror groups like isis. ( darya ) the healthy school lunch policy started by former first lady michelle obama has ended. the agriculture secretary announced yesterday changes to school lunches that reduce whole grain requirements and lowers sodium levels in food. the new policy also changes the rule requiring schools to serve non-fat milk. also, the "let girls learn" initiative... which was championed by the former first lady... was abolished. that program was meant to encourage education for young girls in developing countries. ( darya ) president trump has now opened the door to a future meeting with north korean president kim jong-un the president says he would be "honored" to meet with him if it is under the right circumstances because he thinks kim is a quote "smart cookie." no sitting u-s president has ever met with the leader of north korea. president trump's comment about meeting kim comes as tensions have risen in recent months between the u-s and north korea as pyongyang advances its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. white house press secretary sean spicer says the trump administration would have to see changes with north korea for a potential meeting to happen. ( darya ) the north korean nuclear issue has quickly become one of the top national security concerns for the trump administration and officials have repeatedly stressed the increasing urgency of the situation. ( darya ) the search continues this morning for the gunman who shot and killed a 15-year-old in san francisco. anny hong is here with the latest on the shooting. anny? ( anny @ flash ) it happened in the sunset district yesterday afternoon... right near st. ignatius high school. police say the teen was not a student at s-i. he was driving in the area when someone opened fire. people who live nearby say they are shocked this happened in a neighborhood that's usually quiet and family friendly. ( anny @ flash ) right now police do not know what led up to the shooting and there is no description of the gunman. the teen who was killed has not been identified. ( mark ) bart police have made a second arrest in connection to the mob attack that happened last month. police are using surveillance video to identify and search for up to sixty teenagers involved in the attack. the mob stormed a train at the coliseum bart station and robbed at least seven passengers and injured two of them in the process. ( mark ) breaking overnight... a car crashes through a pet store in the north bay. take a look at the damage. this happened just before 9:30 last night in santa rosa at a store called "village pets." it is at a strip mall on montgomery drive and summerfield road. you can see the car went right through the front of the store. there were no injuries and none of the animals in the store were injured. police have not said what led up to teh crash. i will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom. ( darya ) at least 4 people are under arrest after the may day protests in oakland. hundreds of people turned out to the city's fruitvale district in support of workers right's and immigrants.( darya ) those taking part were a broad coalition of unions, workers, and students from a variety of schools that walked out earlier in the day. ( darya ) and the may day protest in san francisco had huge crowds turn out for the event. the event yesterday targeted president trump's policies on immigration. many people took the day off work to send their message. they say the only reason they are in the u-s is for a better life. ( darya ) people who participated in the event say it was not just a protest... but a celebration of what immigrants bring to the u-s. ( darya ) not all of the protests remained peaceful across the country. in several states there were clashes between protesters and police. in both oregon and washington state police say several protesters started throwing things at officers including molotov cocktails. a dozen protesters were arrested in new york on charges of civil disobedience. ( mark ) happening today. closing arguments are set this morning in the trial of the man accused of killing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar. the trial is wrapping up after almost three months of witness testimony. sierra went missing in march of 20-12. she was 15 years old. her body has never been found. 26-year-old antolin garcia-torres could face the death penalty if convicted. prosecutors say d-n-a evidence links garcia-torres to the crime. closing arguments will happen at at 9:00 this morning and kron four news will have a reporter in the courtroom. ( mark ) a dish washer at a half moon bay restaurant is arrested and accused of recording women and children inside a restroom. police say 27-year-old pedro jeronimo- gonzalez hid a cell phone in the woman's bathroom at "jersey joe's coastside." he was a part-time employee who had been working there for about six months. a woman found the phone on saturday and called police. the phone captured video of two women and four children using the restroom. the restaurant's owner says he can't believe what his employee is accused of doing: by emergency crews was delayed because of bad cellphone service. a chopper eventually got him to the hospital where he was given an anti-venom antidote. he is in serious condition this morning. experts have some tips if you or someone you're with gets a rattlesnake bite. first, do not try to suck the venom out. do not apply a tourniquet or ice to the bite. they say you should stay calm, clean the bite and elevate the wound. ( darya ) the city of san francisco has settled a lawsuit with short-term rental website air b-n-b. the company took the city to court saying regular registration requirements don't apply to air b-n-b because it's an online company. the settlement now requires air b-n-b hosts to register on the site before they can list a property. the company will also have a monthly list of short-term rentals in san francisco. that's so they can verify and enforce registration. and it better protects the city's housing supply."peter kwan, airbnb host: "hopefully in this way the listing websites will be purged of all those bad actors.">( darya ) the settlement will start impacting new renters in about four months. current renters will have a few months after that to start following the new requirements. ( mark ) new this morning... we now know the hoverboard brand linked to a house fire that killed two girls in pennsylvania. the u-s consumer product safety commission is warning people to stop using and charging "lay-z board hoverboards" investigators directly linked that hoverboard to a deadly fire on march 10th. a two-year-old and ten-year-old girl were killed in that fire. the safety commision says more than three-thousand "lay- z board hoverboards" were distrubed in the u-s. ( darya ) president trump is making headlines for some questionable comments he made about the civil war and president andrew jackson. and this morning he is sticking by what he said. anny hong is here with president trump's claims and how a bay area congresswoman is responding. anny. ( anny @ flash ) during an interview with the washington examiner, president trump suggested that president andrew jackson might have been able to stop the civil war before the conflict started. take a listen. he later sent out this tweet yesterday saying in part that president jackson would have never let the civil war happen. president jackson died more than a decade before the civil war started in 18-61. historians say president trump's comments about both the war and jackson disregard key historical events. slavery was the underlying issue fueling the fight over states' rights that ultimately led to the civil war. u-s congresswoman barbara lee - who represents parts of the east bay.... responded to president trump's questions about the civil war. the representative tweeted quote 'president trump doesn't understand why there was a civil war. it's because my ancestors and millions of others were enslaved.' ) back to you. . ( mark ) happening today... united airlines c-e-o oscar munoz is set to testify on capitol hill. congress is examining customer service by u-s airlines and how it can be improved. the hearing by the house transportation committee comes amid worldwide outrage sparked when a passenger was dragged off a united flight after refusing to give up his seat to a crew member. lawmakers are expected to ask questions about customer-service policies and what is being done to improve service for the public. last week, united reached a settlement with passenger doctor david dao and issued new policies to prevent customer-service failures. ( mark ) former "bachelor" star chris soules is due in court for his role in a deadly crash. police say he left the scene after his truck rear- ended a man on a tractor last week. that man later died. if convicted, he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison. ( darya ) gun sales spike after mass shotings due to concerns over safety. that is according to new information released this morning. the survey tracked handgun sales in california after two mass shootings. after the 20-12 newtown, connecticut shooting there was a 53-percent increase in gun sales across the state. after the 20-15 san bernardino shooting, there was a 41-percent increase. the findings support the notion that fear is partly behind the spikes in handgun buys after each tragedy. ( darya ) the co-president of fox news has been let go. the network says bill shine resigned from his position yesterday. this comes after fox news fired bill o'reilly and c-e-o roger ailes over sexual harrassment allegations. this also comes after o'reilly and fox news paid out millions of dollars to settle claims. insiders say shine did not properly investigate the sexual harassment allegations at the time and that ultimately lead to him stepping down. ( darya ) there are new charges this morning against a man accused of killing an elderly woman during her morning walk in sacramento. neven butler is facing murder, assault and attempted rape charges. police say the 18-year old killed an 86- year old woman after sexually and physically assaulting her at a high school track last week. butler is also accused of assaulting a 61-year-old and 92-year-old on that same day. butler will be back in court next month. he's being held without bail. ( mark ) the father accused of abducting his 4- month-old daughter from a mountain view hotel last month is in jail this morning. 45 year old michael wallin turned himself in to police sunday night. officers say he drove away from the hotel with his daughter madilyn wallin on his lap back in early april. an amber alert was issued for madilyn and she was found the next morning. wallin is facing charges of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. ( mark ) a man and a young girl killed in a crash on i-880 have been identified. police say 23-year-old dion christy and 5-year-old neveah brown were both from oakland. the crash happened just after 5:00 yesterday morning... south of fifth avenue on 880. our robin winston covered the story for you yesterday morning when it happened. police say a speeding black b-m-w veered off the road and hit the truck on the shoulder.... then the b-m-w was hit by a pickup truck. the man and little girl who were killed were sitting in the back of the b-m-w. ( mark ) police in los alto arrest a man in connection with several cases of indecent exposure. police say 25-year-old christian itule has targeted at least seven victims ranging in age from 11 to 16. the latest incident happened on april 26th. police say itule was driving a tan sedan when he approached one of the victims. the victim contacted police who found the car and the suspect. he was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure and seven counts of annoying a child. ( darya ) new this morning... we have cell phone video showing the gunman in the deadly san diego shooting lounging in a chair at the pool with a gun. anny hong is here with a closer look at the video and what one of the victims injured in the shooting is saying about the incident. anny. ( anny @ flash ) polie say this all happened after peter selis broke up with his girlfriend... shooting and killing a mother and wounding six other people. police say selis sat down and called his ex-girlfriend to tell her he shot two people at his apartment complex during a birthday pool party. take a listen to this cell phone video of the shooter sitting by the pool. police say the 49-year- old kept his ex-girlfirend on the phone as he shot more people at random. a guest at the party even said the "birthday boy" approached selis initially to invite him into the party before the shooting began. police responding to the scene ended up shooting and killing selis after he turned his gun on officers. went through but i'm glad that i'm alright. i'm glad that most of my friends are alright.>( anny @ flash ) selis' was killed by police after he shot at them. they say he had no criminal history and did have a registered handgun. ( darya ) a fire ripped through a homeless encampment in oakland last night. it happened underneath the 580 overpass near the emeryville border. there are no reports of any injuries. ( darya @ land ) investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at two buildings in concord. several homes in the neighborhood were threatened. it happened yesterday afternoon on concord boulevard. the fire burned two garages. one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. ( mark ) president trump says congress has enough votes to pass a new healthcare bill but some congressional leaders say they are not there yet. republicans are trying to get the bill passed before congress takes a recess on thursday. but some members of congress say they still lack the 216 votes necessary to pass the bill. there is now a debate between conservative and moderate republicans over a new amendment that allows states to opt out of providing coverage for pre-existing conditions. < i have concerns about the health care bill in its current form. amendment that's offered does weaken protections for people with pro exist with pre-existing conditions. that's a big concern for many of the center right members with whom i'm affiliated with. >( mark ) some members of congress say a vote on the healthcare bill could come this week. but congressional leaders say they will not move forward with the vote until they are certain they have enough votes for it to pass. ( anny @ land ) murfee is a rescue mentor dog. he was stolen from his home on palomares road over the weekend. police say murfee has helped to mentor hundreds of rescued german shepherd dogs to help them learn proper social skills before they moved on to their homes. murfee was taken into police protective custody after he was thrown against a wall during a domestic violence dispute. there is a 7- thousand dollar reward for murfee's safe return. ( mark ) former 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick is lending a helping hand to people in new york city. he donated dozens of custom made suits to the company "100 suits." they are an organzation that helps give out free business clothes people who are looking for jobs. kaepernick says he will continue to donate his money to causes that promote social justice. he also recently donated 50-thousand dollars to "meals on wheels" and helped pay for an airplane that sent food to somalia.
