No major delays along the stretch but chp issued a Traffic Alert and they look to have it cleared by 4 30 and thats within the next 30 minutes, i will keep an eye on it. Hose of you working you areas three right lanes are blocked. And one lane blocked out of hayward. Around the bay area, no major problems. If you need to get to San Francisco it is quiet at the bay bridge toll plaza. A live look at traffic. At the bay a good ride, no major troubled spots from the eastbound into San Francisco, 8 to 10 minutes for the average drive from the maze to the skyline. There was an arrest in a violent assault suspect on this 4th of july holiday. These two officers are a part of Concord Police departments illegal fireworks suppression team. Since july 1st, concordpolice have received sixty fireworks calls. It is illegal to set off fireworks anywhere in Contra Costa County. As of right now, it is zero tolerance. And to enforce the zero tolerance this Independence Day holiday Concord Police have ever available officer on duty. Our main goal is to keep people safe and to have a happy 4th of july. Happening right now in the south bay, police are investigating an officer shooting in san jose. We have video from the scene. It happened before 5 00 yesterday evening on feller avenue it is still unclear what exactly prompted police to start shooting. Police saying that officers respond to a call for service and that the shooting happened later. The man had a gun and bleeding from his forehead and not cooperating and that is confirmed by witnesses but not police. So far police are not commenting. We got a call about a vehicle that ran off of the road in an suv and flipped over on the hillsides and a second accident behind the scenes. Three lanes of traffic blocked off, east 4 at hillcrest and ch p wants it out of the way in the next 15 minutes. It is unclear if they will extend the closure or not. It is not causing any major traffic delays but heads up for the activity. You may see it if you are traveling westbound, the commute direction out of brentwood oakly and antioch. Heads up for the hot spot. Tracking the drive time to make sure it is not causing major delays for the westbound ride. There is the drive time there. 13 minutes from 160 to 242 and no other major problems. The south bay checking in problemfree. Lets check in on the bridge. 580 westbound towards the toll plaza light and get to go to north bay this morning. So no problems for you here. If you have to use it, 80 is looking good and 101 and the average drive time 8 minutes from the 101 connector and i have not seen problems from 101 into or out of san rafael. Marine layer is more of a hassle to get it mixed out. Here is the progress according to the fog liftoff as our models are telling us by high noon. Getting those numbers pretty good except the peninsula and the coast, that is where it is the most tenacious throughout the day with the low lying clouds, by 9 00 it covers a good bit of the urbanized bay area. The south bay has more trouble getting there. You can see the numbers lofty as late as one a. M. Tomorrow. We do get them down just before dawn. And then you can see the fog lifting off. 9 a. M. For the same process tomorrow morning. We are dealing with the process of onshore flow and a trough up to the north and to the east High Pressure that we have been talking about. So clearing in the east bay. Temperatures now, upper 50s and you can see in most locations, 54 San Francisco and 60 for san jose. The warmup today reflects that what we are talking about with the clearing. You can see the temperatures start to pounce by the noon hour we get reds involved but still on the east bay quite chilly with greens in the peninsula. Tonight 6 00 and ocean cooled air start to spill over in the valleys and flood much of the east bay region as we get chilly. 58 for San Francisco and the cloud cover lingering. 77 palo alto and 71 for san mateo. Pacifica 60. Pal owe alto 87 and 81 melpinas and san jose 80 and 81 for santa clear ras. The east bay shore. We are tracking the bill California Wildfires that are burning this morning. You see some of those action shots here behind me as firefighters are working to contain now nearly 4800 firefighters on the battle lines right now. 12 wildfires burning across the state. The wildfire in el dorado has burned 5000 acres. The trail head fire, it started tuesday and grew as it charge the through very rough and as you can see very inaccessible terrain. A tough fight. That fire 50 contained this morning. 2600 homes and businesses threatening. A wildfire is burning in fresno as well. Fresno county. Firefighters making progress on a fire near colinga. The curry fire and broke out on friday and grew to nearly 3,000 acres and that cause is still under investigation this morning. And illegal firework being blamed for this fire in the east bay. It sparked explosions that could be seen across Contra Costa County and investigators are trying to set down who set them off. We have the story from brentwood. Reporter it is almost hard to believe, a brushfire can get this big we had flames 50 feet in the air. Reporter but in dry, windy weather no surprise. Came home and looked down to the creek area and completely on fire. Reporter no surprise someone was fooling around with fireworks on the 3rd of july. Neighbors have told us that there was about 20 guys that came down our street all dressed in black and a look out down there at the end of the street and they heard fireworks going off. Even as i walked through a neighborhood in mars creek i heard fireworks. One woman says they have been going out since thursday. We try to watch out for each other. It is quite scary. Getting numerous hours across the county based on the fireworks. Reporter this fire that burned on both sides of the creek towards a roofing companys yard and the flames almost reached the home of an elderly woman. She was fine. We hopped the fence and got her out. It took 6 different Fire Agencies and one from livermore to get things under control. In Daylight Hours it is so easy to see how on dry everything is. Listen to how dry the plants are, the same type that has fueled the opposite side of the creek that is charred and blackened. This is why exactly fireworks are a big deal and why firefighters are asking you to turn people in, if necessary.
