jose, they have the money to hire these officers but they have been working on this for the past couple of years. they stated that the academies have not been giving them quality recruits. they have not been able to hire as many as the like. >> that want to use this money to get these other officers on the force. that will patrol some of the areas that they already are doing. they will not be asked to join the gang task force. according to the mayor, they will have to look at the dialyzing did the areas under control. right now, it is in the early stages, they will come back to revisit
