coming up. >> happening now. coast guard boats. searching in san francisco's ocean beach for a 14-year- old boy. he was in the water with his dad and cousin and they were apparently pulled out by a rip current but the 14-year-old is still missing this morning. kron 4's mike pelton is live at ocean beach with the latest on the search, mike? >> right now this is a scaled-back searched due to how dark it is. the fire department has a command post in the coast guard is going to use this boat to look for it designs. the coast guard stated that after sunrise that would do is possibly another boat and helicopter depended on the weather. this are just passed a 12 hour mark suggested that we saw the fire to are using binoculars. they're trying to find him, authorities stated that a man, his son and his nephew were at the beach when the two boys ran into trouble in the water and the father tried to save them but he struggled. officials stated that a 17 year-old surfer was nearby pulled the nephew and then turned his attention to the father. >> drunk, i paddled command. once i got to shallow water, i saw a guy out there. >> authorities stated that he did not have a cole's and had to revive the man trends for him to the hospital. we're awaiting word on his condition but his son is the one who was missing, he is 14 years old. fire crews stated that he was not wearing a wet suit and located a new possible underwater signal. the search agency conducting the search off austrailia's west coast says a navy aircraft picked up a signal in the same area a ship heard sounds consistent with the aircraft's black boxes earlier this week. here is video of a map of the latest search efforts. the aircraft involved in the search dropped sound- locating buoys by parachute in a patterns near where the signals were last heard. an official who is leading the search said in a statement that the plane picked up a ""possible signal"" that may be from a man-made source. >> we have new information this morning on a police chase that ended in a shootout in vallejo: officers shot and killed a man they say was driving dangerously and putting people's lives at risk. it happened
