You can see the plane coming in on approach. Then, it hits the seawall and almost jumps onto the runway. The momentum of the crash sends the plane spinning in the air, before finally resting off the runway. The plane was found to be too low on approach. The pilot disconnected the autopilot, and set off the Chain Reaction that ended up killing three people and injuring 180 more. The ntsb has wrapped up its public hearing into the crash. And that hearing provided new and sobering details into what happened. Here are some of those findings. Investigators determined the flight came in too low and too slow investigators also revealed the pilots were deeply concerned before landing and relied too heavily on automated control systems. The pilot flying told investigators that he was uncomfortable landing visually without an instrument approach to guide him.
