and who do they leave behind. we would share the new information in our team coverage. >> more on this tragic story out of santa cruz and just a bit, but we began with a developing story in san francisco. a water main break causes a big mess. crews have not shut off water to residents. it is in the area of 50 avenue and wawona, in west portal. kron4 jackie sissel is live on the scene. >> this is a 16 in. water main that broke gallons of water into the street and into cars. some of these areas were completely filled with water and you can see all the stuff that is floating in the water. all in all this stated that a dozen or more homes have been affected by this. here is video from early this morning where the water was actually washington restrained. it was thousands of gallons that were coming down. i had a chance to talk to someone from the public works department. >> the water came out and all of the dirt that called the silver was coming out. basically, we are treating this as a hazardous waste and we have to make sure that we get these phones cleaned up. >> i am not sure whether not the camera can show you how much mud as out here. but you are probably looking at about a foot of mud that is out here. >> last time jackie, when we have this a understood the amount of mud. where is all of this mud coming from? >> you have to understand that this is a 68 edge water main that is under the ground is covered. when that water main broke all of this was surrounding and that made history collapse. basically, all of this water that was covering this pipe send it down the street. you have yards, and yards of mud. >> oh my gosh! 6:00 a.m. is probably too early for these residents even be waking up. i saw the is a garage and it has a lot of damage. >> i tried to talk to if you are the residence and they were not interested in talking to me. this demonstrated that him and his wife were born to stand outside and that they see that the mud is up to their tires. you can imagine how much water when inside of here. this is also their car right here. >> it is amazing, the mud, and the damage. they have shut off water and they have to clean this up. did they say if this was going to be all day?
