doors opening at 5:00 tonight. now, washoe county republican chairman autumn kahn told me he expects this to be the most organized caucus they have ever hosted, really stream lining the process as well. we are here at the middle school which is one of 28 site locations in washoe county. in 2012, there were only 11 site locations in the county, so really making it easier for the republican voters to reach a site. now, for instance, there will be 25 precincts reporting at trainer middle school. this is how it all works out opening doors at 5:00. people here are checking, making sure they are registered republican voters, and you have to be a registered republican in order to participate tonight, so also if you are 17, 18 before the actual election so you can actually put in a ballot tonight. so if you see these envelopes here, everybody will put in their secret ballot, but it in an envelope for their candidate of choice and at 8:0, voting will be closed off that's when they will tally those votes. hoo ser what is new tonight. the site leaders at each location will use a photo and send it to the washoe county republican leaders to get those results quickly. as r for turn out, we are unsure of what the turn out will be, but that will be a big question and let's turn that over to terri hendry for details on that. >> well, van, the nevada republican party is really make nothing predictions about turn- out and i want you to take a look at. this there is a long line. they been lining up since about 4:30rbgs and they're getting checked in now to go ahead and caucus. i spoke with the washoe county he says they have to get it right this year. he says the national rnc is threatening to take away nevada's caucus, and taking the stay staw toc with it. that is because in the last presidential location in 2012, there was low voter turn out of about 3 3,000 registered republicans turned out to caucus. and that's only 8% of those registered voters. and that wasn't the only problem of the night. it took three days to verify the count. the number of ballots did not match the number of people who had registered. he says he is hoping that the new processes and streamlining thing also make for fewer problems this evening. meanwhile, some folks that i talked to came early because they were so excited to vote. take a listen. >> i wanted to make sure i was on months in prison. a pediatrician in reno is prescribing medical marijuana for some children with some health conditions. news 4 joins us to tell us what kind of effect it is having on these kids. emily? >> reporter: yes, i reached out to a local pediatrician who allows certain children with severe epilepsy to take medical marijuana. one of her patients has been using it for about two years know and the result have been eye opening. >> my son had no other choice. he was going to die. >> reporter: he is 15, autistic and epileptic. he would have more than 3,000 seizures per day. >> at one point he was taking the maximum of four different seizure medications and he was taking 20, 25 pills per day. >> reporter: once richards' son started medical marijuana in straight without a seizure. he also stopped taking three of the four pharmaceutical medications. this is the amount of medical marijuana he takes in place of the amount of pills. >> in 13 years my son has slept 50 nights. so the night we started medical marijuana, he slept through the night. and now he pretty much sleeps almost every night. right now medical marijuana isn't considered a treatment, accord okay the family's pediatrician. >>s a schedule one medication, it has to be approved by two different government agencies in order to even get asample to test on anyone, much less children. >> reporter: the doctor only
