Vin as a dungeons and dragon player as a kid, i was very much into fantasy. I liked how it was a fantasy story told in a modern day setting. The idea of immortality is fascinating, the idea of playing an 800yearold character is challenging in a fun way. I do gravitate towards these characters that could be challenging at times, but i also dont know if i would have filmed it right when i filmed it. I was preparing to take a yeye off after r urious 7. Last year was a dark year and were just kind of coming out of that but then the studio successfully secured michael cane because he was retiring and he said he got an offer he couldnt refuse. Rose theyve long held a kind of malevolent hold on our imagination, witches have, and thats dating back to a very long time, and so it was cool to play a witch whereby she is modern day and she doesnt necessarily dress like one would assume, and you know shes essentially good. Shes nononasty. Shshs not kind of like out for your blood. So it was a good kind of like, it wasas good way to shift it. One means nothing, two a coincidence, three trouble. Elijah its like a modern action fantasy with witches. Its an entirely new mythology, the film sets it up with a little bit from the past, establishing who kaulder, vin diesels character is. How he became immortal and how hes this immortal witch hunter keeping black magic at bay and humanity safe, then thrust into the modern world and you realize that were surrounded by witches. All of them are legal, its ok, theyre white witches. Theyre not going to going to hurt humanity, but theyre around us and i found that kind of fasasnating. It was a real interesting worldd to be sort of in a modern day setting and to sort of populatee it with thesespeople that could say witch hunter. Witch hunter. Stefanie one cool thing about the film is that a lot of the original fans of the show jem and the holograms got to be involved with the making of the films so people were cast off youtube. I know zipper was cast off of youtube and a lot of the characters, well, obviously in the movie, they show a lot of people submitted videos about how jem inspired them and what they like to do with their lives and how they want to help people in the world with inspiring people. Jem is glamour and glitter, fashion and fame, and i cant imagine how tempting it might be to lose yourself to Something Like that. When i look at you, i dont see jem. In my eyes, youre the same incredible girl that i sang with under the pier that night. Ryan it was just, it was very eccentric, very vibrant lively cartoon n d this film just captured this aw this energy that jem originally had in the 1980s and then just amplified it with all the viral videos and the social media content now and everything has just become this massive jem and the holograms. Stefanie we had so much fun. We performed for 12 hours straight overnight, so it would be like 6 00 p. M. To 6 00 a. M. , same crowd over and over, the crowd was into it at all hours. It was amazing. It was like a huge party. I love the hair and makeup. It took us, i think, around three hours to get our makeup and hair done in the performance scene. Aubrey the hair and makeup is really kind of the most or the thing thth translates most from the series to the movie. I think we really did a good job, in my opinion, of paying homage to the looks of the characters. Haley my favorite moment was the hair and makeup. There was no rules, no boundaries. And it was like, go crazy. And we were just it was just so awesome. Aurora i did two weeks of drum lessons with a teacher and then we all together rehearsed as a band without the instruments turned on or without my full drum set and kind of just ran around and acted crazy. Jon when you have actors that can sing like aubrey, like stefanie, like haley, like aurora, the world is our oyster when you get them on stage. They come to life, their characters come through their song, comes through their movement and i think thats the power of our story. Yes, its a coming of age story. Yes, its a rise to fame story. And at that point, you know these things just keep happening to him and a social worker comes to the house and questions her as a mother, and how you deal with those things. Shes just trying to piece her life together after the loss that theheve had and you seeeeer really doing anything she cann for r r children, and i think thats sosothing that i was really interested in and the humanity within that. For me, this kind of movie, and not really a trick, is just the living and believing it. You know youre with these children, you connect, you do the work, youre actually shooting in the house for 30 days in a row and you make it as real as possible to you and then you really start to believe it. Elijah i i ink the reality of vin, i think a lot of people know already, but hes a big d d fan, hes hugely into fantasy, he knows a lot about toking, tolkien, talked to me a lot about lord of the rings and the silmarillion, so in a way, theres aspect of this character that are very steeped in that realm and its very true to who he is and, and i think he was very excited about wielding a flaming sword. Breck vin is the only man who can play the last witch hunter truly, from my point of view, from the studio, from cory, who wrote this script, vin is the last witch hunter. I mean, he is, he embodies this idea, he envelops the world ere he comes from, you know whatateriod he comes from, he is just, he embodies what i wanand out of this role and it was thats it for this week.
