Dozens of restaurant Health Reports this week have people you dont know touching things you dont want to know before handling your food like at daddy o grill where inspectors found an employee repeatedly touching his shirt and apron with his hands and preparing your food without washing them. They cut someone else slicing onions with bare hands. Over at boasted doughnuts, an employee was handling money before preparing food. Money is dirty. A lot of people touch it. Reporter and no trip to the sink. When youre touching money, then you go to touch the food, all of that bacteria gets on the food. Our other big story tonight at 10 00. The woman seen being punched point blank in the face by a Police Officials also release a cops body camera video which was turned off during the actual punch. That officer is under internal investigation. And a closer look at what happened in the moments leading up to the hit. Niko santos went to flagstaff looking for answers. Took the video clearly shows the officer punching the woman in the face but what we dont see is she was in the process of moving out. She was evicted which is why the officer was on the scene. She has her exclusive reporter the jodi arias murder case made international headlines. Jodi arias behavior is textbook stalking. Sex lies and murder. Salacious details revealed in court about a scorned woman killing her boyfriend, travis times, had millions riveted. Jodi arias was convicted of murder, sentenced to life in prison. The man who signed off on the toxicology report is this man, norm wade, the toxicology manager and chief toxicologist. My name is mormon wade. Reporter he has helped put away countless criminals. It was june 1990 when norm wade was hired by the Ventura County Sheriffs Office has crime lab manager. Management sections and thats where his crimes began. He checked out a handgun and pawned it. He did the same with a camera, lens, and other property. According to a the investigative report, he was also investigated for stealing a license plate registration sticker from the evidence section for his personal vehicle. He pled no contest to the theft and was placed on probation for two years. He decided to resign before he after leaving, it would be discovered that 14,000 was stolen from evidence envelopes in the money safes. Wade is a possible suspect. He denied taking the money and agreed to a polygraph. A voice stress analyst confirms wade lied on two questions. Did you take the money from the room and did you know the combination to the safes . Another colleague dropped a bombshell on investigators, questioning his ethics in court, saying she feels he would testify or steer towards what the District Attorney wanted. She described wade as a yesman and said he would say whatever the client was paying him to say. Your colleagues from the Ventura County Sheriffs Office that you would testify to anything that the District Attorney wanted you to say. Is that true . Reporter wade would eventually be arrested for embezzlement by a public official and grand theft of a firearm. A jury convicted him of stealing the gun. Investigators did not have enough evidence to prove he stole the money. He served 30 days in jail and three years probation. I committed a crime and was convicted. Reporter he had already quit the job in california so right here at Maricopa County medical Examiners Office as a forensic toxicologist. He resigned am only telling the then chief article examiner that he had legal troubles in california. But five years later with this criminal history, he was somehow hired back at the office, this time as lab director. In a position of authority serving as Expert Witness for the Maricopa County Attorneys Office in some of the highest profile cases in the county. He got the job by failing to this probably would have kept him off the stand in the trial of officer richard chrisman. The Jeffrey Martinson case. In 2011, convicted of first degree murder for killing his son. Do you think you a criminal conviction out of Ventura County was relevant to any of the cases he testified in . Its a disadvantage and its unfairness that Defense Attorneys didnt know this. Reporter Kendra Fleming is a staff attorney at the arizona Justice Project and says the felony conviction should have been disclosed to Defense Attorneys. Wade could have been impeached as an Expert Witness during crossexamination, especially any significant cases where people are now spending their lives in prison are sitting on death row. The men and women doing their civic duty were also denied. I think juries have the right to at least hear it to evaluate for themselves whether credibility. Reporter the chief medical examiner who was involved in wades hiring was shown his application, where he checked the box no, he hadnt been can have a crime other than a minor traffic violation. Do you think he was being deceitful at the time . Thats deceptive. Thats disappointing. Reporter he acknowledged he knew about wades legal problems but that they were even if wade had been truthful on his application we might still have hired him. Reporter Court Records show wade had his felony record expunged but was required to disclose it on an application for public service. We need claims his attorney told him he didnt have to. I just dont know why im in this situation. I always tell the truth. I try to never do anything wrong and i try to make up what happened make up for what happened in 1992. Reporter but that is not investigators. Do you feel you deceived the medical Examiners Office . No i do not. Reporter without a shadow of a doubt, some at the met office knew about this. As part of the hiring process wade was fingerprinted and an fbi track check revealed his previous arrest. But at no time did the medical Examiners Office terminate wade, still with all this after case for 17 years. This is an embarrassment for me and the whole medical Examiners Office. Reporter do you have anything to say . No. Reporter and no real answers as to what will happen next in those cases. Reporter the county has kept you in the dark on this. I brought this matter to the attention of the county six months ago. Dps recommended a felony charge against wade for false swearing. The attorney general tacked on fraudulent schemes but has county attorney Bill Montgomery put weight on his waiting list. Others who testified with questionable credibility, and have lied under oath. In august i was told norm weight has been employed with Maricopa County for almost 20 years and is an employee in good standing. His annual salary is 115,000. It wasnt until i requested an interview with the county manager a few weeks ago that norm wade was brought into her then wade immediately retired. New tonight, another plot twist in the infamous jodi arias trial. 12news confirming that the defense attorney who represented her has signed an agreement to be suspended from practicing law for four years because he published a book about the case. The agreement claims that he violated attorney ethics rules by revealing confidential conversations that he ha jodi arias and her family and evidence ruled inadmissible in court. It also claims that he made disparaging remarks about jodi arias in media interviews promoting the book. The agreement is not yet final and the judge still has to accept, reject or modify it.
