House speaker john buy tpher is doubling down on his close relationship with benjamin netanyahu. He invited him to speak to Congress Without informing the president. Now he is planning a visit to israel. Cbs News National security analyst joins us from our washington bureau. Juan, good morning. Reporter good morning, anthony. Is the house speakers trip a jab at the white house juan . Reporter well, its a bit of a politics still playing itself out. But clearly Speaker Boehner has a very Good Relationship with benjamin netanyahu, likely wants to pay his respects after the elector a al victory and certainly wants to send a message that it remains strong. So there is a diplomatic purpose for this. Certainly there is some politics still involved. As you know juan the president took several days to officially congratulate the Prime Minister. On that call he said we want to reassess expects of our relationship with israel. What do you think that means . Are we talking about u. N. Sanctions . Well, the u. S. Certainly would not support u. N. Sanctions. I think what the u. S. Is talking about there is in part measures that would force beating netanyahu tostep back from his remarks of needing a twostate solution. Certainly for the palestinians. This has been the baseline of u. S. Policy. And certainly International Negotiations for the past six, seven years. And so i think what you have there is a reassessment as to whether or not the u. S. Would support the israelis at the u. N. When a resolution comes up for framework for that kind of solution. But certainly the u. S. Is recognizing theres International Pressure growing on israel. And even palestinian attempts to bring the israelis before the International Criminal court. So the president is trying to send a signal. But certainly support for israel will remain. Juan, how deeply do you think relations between the u. S. , the administration, the Obama Administration and israel have deteriorated at this point . Reporter i think this is not a good moment, clearly, anthony. You have a problem of personalities and policy. The president and the new Prime Minister of israel certainly dont like each other. Thats clear. The president didnt appreciate the address to congress about the iranian issue and the negotiations. That was a problem. Clearly now you have two contentious issues. The issues of the Palestinian Peace process which remains a major stumbling block. And of course a question as to whether or not the israelies will support ultimately any teal that the u. S. Negotiates with iran. Thank you, juan, for being with us. Reporter thank you. Knight has been taken by ambulance from a courthouse four times since he was charged with killing terry carter in february the ncaa tournament suspect called march madness for nothing. Yesterday pwraupt yet anotherbrought yet another upset. John rothstein is a look at where we could be headed here. Good morning, john. Good morning, guys. How are you doing . Cinderella teams all over the place already. Indeed indeed. Who are for real . In the ncaa tournament thats to be determined. I think dayton is a team that really took a step forward this week, especially last night against providence. The unique thing about dayton when you see them benefiting from their home court its going they are a higher seed. Day ton made the first four. The first four happens to be played on daytons home floor. Then because the flyers won in advance, they played providence in the round of 64 last night in a game that was in columbus. So a pseudo home game. Unique circumstances but a remarkable remarkable run so far for dayton this season. You talk about remarkable. Lets talk about georgia. I love this father son story. A lot are wondering, yes, the dad celebrates too hard. Right. Can they really make it . Well its going to be difficult for Georgia State against xavier. One of the more unique players we have seen in college basketball. Great size. Can pass at the low post. A point center with the way he facilitates on offense. The way Georgia State beat baylor was one of the more miraculous things i have seen. Hes like baylor. Im going to pick them all the way. Think about this for ale second. Baylor led Georgia State with 2 54 by four points. Georgia state still needing two 30foot shots in the last minute. Georgia state closed it on a 130 run. March madness . You Better Believe it. Truly unexpected memorable moments. Ron hunter pulling up that chair. We all think what it is going to be one shining moment a couple of weeks from now when the tournament is over and we see the montage on cbs. That was one of the more unbelievable things i have seen. Ron hunter for people in the sport, he is a tremendous guy, passionate guy. He got a chance at Georgia State. He is making the most of it. Day one we had so many upsets. Day two it was one upset. What do you think the momentum will be like Going Forward . Are we going to see a lot more upsets . I always felt saturday and sunday, the next two days are the best days of the ncaa tournament. Thursday and friday is a weeding out process. If youre a cinderella uab, Georgia State, youre playing right now for the honeymoon theory. If Georgia State or uab wins one more game they get to go back to campus with four or five days of media. There is a twoday turnaround. They will really soak themselves up in march madness. The big story was kentucky. They won big in the first game. Are they still the team to beat . Hands down. The most unbelievable thing about kentucky when this team took a trip to the bahamas last summer, their best player was alex a key cog in their run to the National Title game the last year. He has not played since december because suffered a torn acl. They are still 350 and a clear favorite to win the national championship. I dont think people understand the depth on this team you know, in terms of people who watch sports from a periphery. John cal peri needs to empty his bench. The guys on the bench if they went to other programs would have their numbers retired. Everybody wants a cinderella. We all want teams we know and can identify with. Interesting to watch. Thats the interesting thing about the ncaa tournament. If you look at what transpired last year uconn and kentucky are the two teams that played for a national championship. Even though they came from two blue blood programs, they werent ranked at the end of the regular season. Tune in to march madness when uab takes on ucla at 12 10. In addition should we be thinking about heart health in childhood . I think so. Nobody had the right diet. There was a stove by steve nissen that blue me away. By the time they get in their 30s half the people have laying down of plaque in their arteries. We have to start reallyarily. What do we have to do as a trend . In his case born biologically a female but living as a male. His Commanding Officer uncovered his secret at the end of 2013 while reviewing then 23yearold wilson for a promotion. He was forced to leave the mill tai with an honorable discharge. What went three your head and you were packing up your gear to leave . My main concern is whos going to take my spot. When youre in a place like that, you cant afford to lose anybody. You were worried about your buddies, about the mission. Absolutely. Wilson had enlisted as a female and then decided to transition. That meant living and expressing himself with the gender he identified with. He took male hormones and by the time he deployed to a new unit he looked and sounded masculine and was placed in a metal barracks. What was it like . It was probably the only time i could focus on my job without wore worrying about my gender coming into play. Transgender people are people whose gender identity that is their internal sense of their gender, just doesnt line up with what the doctor told our parent whence we were born, is it a boy or a girl. Reporter since 3 or 4, wilson felt his gender was male. I wreck announcing proudly to my mom this whole girl thing wasnt cut out for me. I recognize the reaction i got wasnt the best. You recognized it was something people didnt want to hear about. This was how things are and how theyre going to be. They found 41 of transgender people had attempted suicide. The decision to transition can bring a sense of peace. Theres a relief in saying this is what i am, theres relief in saying this is what u im going to do . It may or may not involve surgery. Can you explain why you have the vurj i or orr not is relevant to you . It doesnt change who you are as a person. How we see ourselves and present ourselves to the world is much more important than the underlying layers of whats understood our colors or what can be under your clothes. Landon wilson told me its so important to remember hes not the only one transitioning. His friends, family, colleagues are also tran sessioning. It shoeses the journey of a transgender woman who coming out later in life. Its played brilliant bibi jeffrey tam bauer. And youre going to see him explaining exactly whats going on trying to whos played by his daughter amy landecker. Can you just help me out here . In effect this issue has been on the table for a long time. You can go back to christine bjoergensen in the50s to Rene Richards in the 70s but the publy never wanted to look at it. No. I think its so important. Were learned the words. The vocabulary. People are nervous about this. They say he instead of she, parent instead of dad. Its okay. We talk to use your words we need to have a conversation learn the vocabulary. This is what transgender means and what transitioning means and this will get better. I agree. So much is about having the conversation and being unguarded about society as they learn more about people who have been part of our society forever and i think thats where the support comes is from truly understanding people. If youre a fan of the 1960s and 70s rock and roll, its likely you heard of this group wrecking ball. They played background for the likes of beach boys elvis presley, simon garfunkel, even frank sinatra. They story is the feature of a history documentary. Its available on itunes. Heres a peek. The musicians were the Unsung Heroes of all those records. When i listen to the record it is so apparent that these guys were really so good and you can see why everybody use them, you know, because they were so tight. They were the stone cold rock and roll professionals, and there may never, ever be a group of rock and roll musicians of that caliber again. Danny ted isco is the director and the son of the late tommy tedesco. Good morning. Good morning. That was your father in that clip. Yes. In that last little clip. Why did it take so long . I started in 96. Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I wanted to tell his story as well as his friends. I knew the beginning and the middle and the end. The reason it took so long is the licensing. Music rights. Music is not free. It shouldnt be free. And you had to buy music from all these different artists. The labels and the publishers. They werent the problem. It was about the economics. You have music going to cost this much. Music docus are going to make this much. At its heart, its about two dozen musicians, not a formal group, and one woman everybody wanted. They could go in and out of the studio. They could do three or four sessions a day. Guitar players were my dad, glen campbell. Piano players. Randy and russell. They didnt tell people who were on the records but they were loved by the artists, loved by the labels, and loved by the musicians. They were the stars among their own. So they didnt need the recognition. They were paid well made a great living. Even seems like a normal person too. You have an image of what a rock and roll crew would be. Exactly. People always expect we had a hoot in nanny at home. Dad went to work like everybody. But instead of in the trunk he didnt have a hammer. He had a guitar and sheet music. They created some of these. My father would say sheet music is not music. Its what you put into it. I want to ask you about the seoul woman, carol kay. She did the baselines for good vibrations california dreams. What was it like to be a woman in this group . I cant imagine. They treated her as a base player or guitar player. Thats not an easy world now. She held her own and she was there because of that. She was a musician. You know shes great musician. The remarkable think thing about these musicians is their range. Most of the beach boys songs, all of phil spector. I mean these guys created the sound we all grew up with. Yeah. Its bizarre, really crazy. Ultimately why did the wrecking crew essentially disperse . It was the matter of time. Dad went into tv and film. Carol was doing teaching and books and stuff like thatch. Hal went on the road with john denver for a while. Sooner or later times changed. Congratulations on getting it released. I even seen it. Its a great film. Danny tedesco. The film is wrecking crew. Up next the family revolution. Make easter pop the board game monopoly has been around for a very long time and American Families still love playing it even if it can drag on too long earning the name monotony but it has a remarkable history dating back to the early century. Good morning david. Good morning. The history is legendary. The beatles played monopoly in a hotel room. The game was used to smuggle maps and money during world war ii. It turns out the games history is scan laldalous and today its nothing like what it was. Its a Tuesday Morning in Southern California and timothy vandenberg, the second ranked competitive monopoly player in the country is using the game to teach math to his sixth grade class but his tips are the tools that every monopoly player should know. Number one, the oranges are king but anything can win except for the browns nchl berm duo built build to the three house level. And number 3, i think ahead. Thats a major life skill we want our children and adults these days. Plan ahead. Reporter its aronnic that he uses the board game to educate because thats exactly what it was created for before it became an american icon. If monopoly had a detech tifb to it it would go to mary pilon. Part journalist part sleuth. Pilon searched it. I set out the truth to find out about monopoly. Her findings are revealed in the mon on lists,. I like most people thought it was inverted during the the great depression. I heard it was rags to riches the problem is thats not exactly true. The truth is that a woman Elizabeth Mcgee invented the game in 1903 as a protest against big money at the gilded age. The carnegies, rockerfellersrockefellers, and advantage denburgs. She made a board game to teach about the evil board. She called her board with the jail spal. It spreads as a folk game. It goes viral like turn of the century still. As people are playing i it theyre making board their own sfloo by the 1930ers the quakers of Atlantic City renamed the space on the board with Iconic Properties like portlandwalk and park plachls by then the entire game had changed. Who came up with monopoly. She talks about the rules of monopolies and antimonopolies. 6 it was immediately after people started calling it the monopoly game. It was when a friend discovered it. He made his own version and in march 1935 he sold the executives along with mr. Moopoly. By ringing the closing bell at the nasdaq. Over its 1er fish. Hasbro has acknowledged that monopoly was inspired by lizzie mcgee but since her death her story has been lost to history. Charles dare rowe is the one that rolled the tice and got all of the credit. When he becomes a millionaire does anybody say, hey, a woman started this. Lizzie mcgee actually speaket out. She holds up her bofrds the early game and said, hay i was the long time before. That by then they were so wrapped up. It was so much the even cham democratment. The informer dredger says the company paid 50 trees for the rights to a board game and they put her fate on the cover. She died in 1948. Up until then she and die were given credit. After she passed away yes, she was forgotten. Today monopoly is a real sport. Under the boardwalk highlights come pettories in a u. S. Championship. Players like Tim Vandenberg who is now yous the tool as intended. A tool too teach minus the company. What to you think about it being the sop sit . Be careful what you puts out there. Fouchl. You do may noltd know a San Francisco state profess ear suit. He won. Over the ten years the cord bat el went on, lizzie mick guys story was finally told on the roared. Fascinating. At one point he said, yes, are you shoe you want to get into this. It was either that or art and i liked to draw when i was growing up and everything. But i really saw myself making more of a career out of cooking this type of cooking food in general. So he was like go for it. So and i chose to the cooking thing. So many of your early influences were french but you ended up opening an italian restaurant. What happened . Okay. All right. You know everything comes back to the foundation of cooking is the backbone of cooking. It always comes back to the french, you know. Its a lot of technique involved and all that stuff. Thats why i really enjoyed learning all about that stuff and working for great chefs and french food and everything. But, again when i was so young and your mind is just a sponge again, working for todd or even barbara lynch, that italian that like making pasta and everything, you know it came back to me like oh man, i had such a great time learning about that and making that pasta and just being cooking rustic. So i like to i like to cook with a lot of refinement but i still like for it to be rustic. Yeah. Its a nice family style presentation too. You can never win . No. I think probably just i made less and les mis stakes is the biggest victory you can get out of it. As brock labored over the bands new record modest mouse continued to perform on the festival circuit. Whats tell best moment of being up there for you . When we go off script and it actually works. When things lock in properly, your brain goes to a special place. I think that would be pretty cool. Yeah. I think thats great. I think thats why people do it or were supposed to be doing it.
