and momentos for muhammad ali. days like today you realize how overused the word legendary is. he will be celebrating here in louisville today. it was here that cassius clay started his boxing career that led to him becoming one of the most famous people on earth, maybe the most famous. the mayor said muhammad ali belongs to the world, but he has only one hometown. and that hometown is welcoming the world to celebrate the champ's memory. >> it was a somber moment when his body arrived at louisville's freedom hall on thursday. his wife sat in silence as islamic prayers filled the room. more incredible career. >> a really nice man. >> this morning it appears a long and hard fought democratic race is over. they welcomed the support saying "we started off as fierce competitors and we ended up as true friends and partners." the president is ready to campaign for clinton starting next week. good morning. >> good morning. that is right and the endorsement was not a surprise to bernie sanders. obama told sanders he would be endorsing hillary clinton when he spoke over the phone last sunday, but the senator asked the presidential hold off until after they had a chance to meet in person. >> here we are in mid june, and we're still standing. >> in a speech free of attacks of presidential promises, benny sanders told the ground in washington his fight is not over. >> together we are going to chane our national priorities. earlier in a video posted on hillary clinton's facebook page, president obama officially endorsed his one time democratic rival and secretary of state. >> i following the final race next tuesday. >> i will work as hard as i can to make sure that donald trump does not become president of the united states. >> sanders travelled to capitol hill for meetings with democratic leaders who rallied to support clinton and praised sanders. >> he made our country and party a better place. >> what bernie sanders did was powerfully important. he ran a campaign from the heart. >> minority leader harry reid said sanders knows his run is over. >> i think he accepted that she is the nominee. >> hillary clinton and senator elizabeth warren are meeting this morning, fuelling more speculation that warren could be clinton's running mate, but it is also a way for clinton to start reaching out to progressive democrats that are so energized by the campaign. >> with the democrats closing ranks, republicans are vowing to raid all of the money that donald trump needs to run against her. trump met with dozens of g.o.p. donors to kick started fundraising that lags behind. clinton. chip that'd shows us what is next for the republican national committee. >> donald trump is trying to get his financial house in order. he is relying on the rnc and state parties for the presidential election? >> he'll get as much as he needs to win. >> paul manifort had a magic number in mind. >> they're candidate threw out a grandoise number. >> he dialled back this week saying he would not need as much money because he gets so much publicity, but he will be fashioning a multipronged attack. >> we will not deal with this want to be tyrant or his allies in the senate. >> senator elizabeth warren lead the charge. >> i find donald trump's conduct in this regard inappropriate. >> he characterized his party's nominee as a work in progress. >> this is a long campaign with a ways to go. >> with president obama now ready to hit the trail for hillary clinton, donald trump will need cash if he wants to counter her high-powered campaign. she is behind by a lot. there are reports her campaign and allies expect to raise a billion dollars and the republican team is caming for less than half of that. >> good morning. >> a big day for hillary clinton again, not only getting the endorsement of the president, the vice president, and the two of them will meet this morning. what does that mean for her? >> it is what unity looks like. the worry it would linger on. i think bernie sanders is the next step. >> what sort of change, if any, do you think it gives her? >> it helps as a contrast. one of the things that the democrats have going for them now in comparison to trump, is they can be seen as the party of grown ups. two former presidents -- in so many words, two former candidat candidates. i think that is a healthy contrast to draw. as elizabeth warren was on a talk show last night, asked about her qualifications and capabilities, i want you to see this. >> do you believe you would be capable of stepping into that job and doing that job if you were ever called to do it? >> yes, i do. >> well, she didn't stutter. >> she didn't stutter and she has been demuring the whole time. i think that was a data point. i think she would like a big role all of a sudden. i don't know if this was her plan all along. >> is she on the vp list? >> she is certainly on the public vp list. but i think it is a very -- yeah, i think they would consider her. i think it is still a long shot. >> how effective was president obama's endorsement yesterday. he said i know how hard this job is, she is qualified, and saying "i'm with her." >> i think we will hear variations on that in the next few months. and it draws the question of decency. >> this is the front of "usa today." trump's string of unpaid bills. what does that hack away at for his credibility and strengths going into this campaign? >> all of those things. >> i think there is a whole flood of these things and not because of opposition research. it has been out there or it has been mined for the last several weeks and months. we will see. i think there is a lot of doubt around him already. >> if you look at the washington journal poll, trump beating hillary for handling the economy. >> stories like there are unhelpful. >> what about the financial disparity that chip reid referred to. >> it could be less than half of that. he doesn't have the happen rapp. when you have been saying the whole time i'm self funding my own campaign, it's not a great sales pitch to fundraisers. an earthquake overnight likely shook many southern californians out of bed if hit south of palm springs around 1:00
