57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. new revelations about meetings involving president trump and his son are rekindling for for over rush russia's election meddling. questions are being raised about the undisclosed talk between president trump two weeks ago and vladimir putin. he defended the story by tweeting fake news story with tower meeting with donald trump jr. mola lenghi is following the story in washington. good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. this is something the lawmakers have taken some issue with, this sort of drip, drip, drip of information that keeps coming out of the white house. instead of getting a full story, we tend to get sort of a detail a day, but president trump maintains that between his meetings with the russian president and his son's meeting with the russian attorney that we're now learning they've done nothing wrong. president trump took to twitter late tueday night insisting there was nothing wrong with his second undisclosed meeting with vladimir putin at the g-20 summit earlier this month. the president wrote the fake news is becoming more and more dishonest. even a dinner arranged for top 20 leaders in germany is made to look sinister. >> we look forward to a lot of great things happening for russia and the united states. >> that was the official meeting. the second took place later on undisclosed to the press. all leaders mingled and at the end of the night he walked over to vladimir putin. they spoke for an hour, although they had a brief conversation, and the only reason the sole translator thrust was present is because trump only had a japanese translator with him. they have someone else with whom they'd like to speak, an eighth person identified as being at the controversial meeting. the lawyer for ike kaveladze, a businessman, said he was at the meeting with donald trump jr. who was promising damaging information on hillary clinton. >> what we see here is again senior levels of the trump administration and now the trump family not coming clean with information. >> reporter: kaveladze's lawyer said investigators for special counsel robert mueller are asking to speak with this client. kaveladze's attorney said he fully plans to cooperate with the russian meddling in the 2016 election. anne-marie? >> mola lenghi. thank you. >> they'll meet at the white house. they're scrambling for ideas after the plan to repeal and replace obamacare failed for the second time. the senate's majority leader has another proposal, but it, too, looks doomed. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell appeared on the senate floor monday afternoon, announcing his chamber would hold a vote on a clean repeal of obamacare even if it failed. >> we'll have a motion to proceed to repeal the obama bill early next week. >> senator mcconnell reverted to the so-called plan c after the collapsed repeal and replace the law. >> in that proposal, there's a two-year delay, which would give us the opportunity to work out a complete replacement. >> but at least three moderate republicans including susan collin of maine have come out to reject it, including the insurance market. >> president trump who marks six months is throwing out another option, letting obamacare fail altogether. >> we'll let obamacare fail and then the democrats are going to come to us and ask how are we going to fix it. >> they'll work to fix it. >> te president's plan which is to sabotage the system and hope to hurt millions and millions of people make things far worse. >> when repealing obamacare without replacing it was proposed two years ago, the congressional budget office said 18 million people would lose health coverage in a single year. the partner of a police officer who killed a minneapolis woman says they were startled by a loud sound just before the shooting. justine damond was shot saturday night after calling police to investigate a possible assault. she was standing on the driver's side of the squad car when officer mohammed noor shot her from the passenger seat. noor won't talk. >> we cannot commit officer noor to make a statement. i wish we could. >> both officers are on paid leave while the case is investigated. the partner says a young man on the bicycle witnessed the aftermath of the shooting and officials are asking him to come forward. a state of emergency is in effect this morning in parts of central california as crews are trying to contain a wildfire. thousands living near yosemite national park were ordered to evacuate yesterday. eight buildings have been destroyed, but the fire has cut power and closed roads nearby. and the search for a man who vanished in a flash flood will resume today in arizona. officials say they do not believe he survived. the man's wife and three children were among the nine people killed saturday when a wall of water surged through the valley. heavy rains have stalled the search. a tragic case in miami shows the severity of the nation's opioid crisis. investigators are trying to find out how the fatal dose of painkillers reached the blood stream of a 10-year-old boy. omar villafranca reports. >> reporter: fifth grader alton banks died at this community pool in overtown neighborhood. he came home vomiting and later his mother found him unresponsive. the 10-year-old had a mix of fentanyl and heroin in his statement. the state attorney katherine run dell. >> we don't know where he got it. we don't believe at this point it was in his home. we believe it was somewhere between the park or the pool or the sidewalk or maybe he touched something. >> investigators say that alton may have been exposed to the deadly drugs during his walk home. police say the poverty-stricken town has seen an increase. overdoses in the past year. jessie davis is alton banks' neighbor. she worries for her own grandchildren. >> it can be nerve-racking. you have to pry don't pick it up. >> reporter: according to the medical examiner's office, there were nearly 300 overdose deaths last year in the miami area involving fentanyl. the drug is so powerful, a few months ago an ohio police officer allegedly been described as a model prisoner, but lawyers say he is still shadowed by till cannings of his wife and friend despite being acquitted. he would be free in october if he is paroled. former house speaker dennis hastert now faced court ordered sex offender treatment after his release from a federal prison system. he was freed yesterday after serving over a year for a banking conviction. the chipotle is facing another health care scare. its shares dropped yesterday. after the announcement. chipotle as you may remember battled a high profile of e. coli outbreak and a norovirus case in 2015. united airlines posted soaring profits despite criticism. they posted a profit of $18 million in profits. that's up 39% compared to last year. the number of customers who booked with united also rose. the airlines faced backlash and calls for a boycott after a flight in april. and apple could make it easier to dial 911 on your smartphone. the company filed a patent yesterday that could make calls for help with just a fingerprint. it's a more discreet way to alert emergency services. the feature would give first responders the location of the phone. it's not clear if the technology will
