now the fourth, iselle, is expected to come ashore here in hilo in just a few hours. workers at hawaii hotels are boarding up. emergency responders are planning for the worst. a potential back-to-back hit from a pair of powerful storms. barney sheffield is the disaster coordinator for the red cross in hawaii county and he's worried about potential damage to the island's ports. >> if it rains enough in hilo, we would probably catch enough water for people to supply, but there's a food problem. there's a limited amount of food at any one time. >> reporter: ivan piilani has seen a hurricane firsthand. he lost his home to flash flood when it came through more than 30 years ago. >> i'm not worried but pretty anxious to see what happens. >> reporter: drivers face long lines to fill up on gas and many rush to fill up on food and water. but within hours some store shelves were empty. >> we have run out of water and we might not get shipments of that until thursday or friday. >> reporter: by then iselle is expected to have left hawaii with plenty of water of her own. emergency management officials we spoke with say if there is major disaster, they could have resources sent immediately from the west coast, but if some of those supplies need to be shipped, it could take up to a week before they arrive. bigad shaban, cbs news, hilo, hawaii. the back-to-back storm systems could pack a punch for people in hawaii. eric fisher, meteorologist of our boston station wbbz is very busy this morning. >> we have three storms we're watching including genevieve now a powerful storm well out in the ocean. of course, a lot of attention is on iselle which is close to hawaii. behind that is julio, about 500 miles away from the big island. still holding its own and right on its heels julio will be following a very similar pachlkt these storms are in water that are not necessarily hot but just warm enough. these are sea surface temperatures. usually your strongest storms approach hawaii when they come from the south where the water is warmer. here it's around 80 degrees. it should be enough to keep iselle a hurricane or at the very least a strong tropical storm at landfall it will cross the entire chain and expect by the time we head toward friday evening. there are a number of warnings up, hurricane warnings. the first for hawaii. in 21 years the warning is up for the big island. the entire chain under watches or warnings. the entire chain is under watches and warnings. now what we look forward and what will be behind iselle is julio. that looks like it's harded toward the weekend. the track looks a little farther to the north and may spare hawaii for the worst. watching julio carefully. i'm meteorologist eric fisher for cbs news. well, fast-moving wildfire forced the evacuation of 275 homes in northern oregon overnight. the fire, not far from the washington border, has charred more than 200 acres so far. thick smoke has filled the air in a small city. fire officials say it is zero percent contained and has the potential to get worse. and this morning russia is raising the stakes in its showdown against the west and ukraine. u.n. officials say about 20,000 highly rained russian troops are amassed along the border with eastern ukraine. heightened fears of an invasion. fighting has grown so intense the dutch prime minister announced wednesday that the search for remains of the victims of malaysia airlines flight 17 will be halted. more than half of the 298 people were from the netherlands. the plane is believed to have been shot down by rebels using russian-made surface-to-air missiles. meanwhile russia is pushing back against sanctions. michelle sigona reports. >> reporter: russian president vladimir putin shows he is not backing down from the united states and european union. on wednesday he ordered trade cuts that include a ban on all u.s. agricultural imports for one year. that equals about $1.2 billion worth of business. it's just a small percentage of overall u.s. agricultural exports, but the ban is expected to have its strongest impact on the u.s. poultry industry. >> granted this will hurt. this will hurt. russia is imporant. it feeds into something that russia's been trying to accomplish for a long time and that's to build up its own agricultural production. >> reporter: the import ban is retaliation for tough sanctions put into place over russia's role in the ukraine crisis. the united states and european union accuse russia of backing separatists fighting in east ukraine. president obama did not comment on the ban wednesday night, but he did say western sanctions are isolating russia. >> sanctions are working as intended in putting enormous pressure and strain on the russian economy. he's going to be hurting his economy and hurting his own people over the long term. >> reporter: the full list of products to be banned by russia will be published today. the u.s. sells about $300 million worth of poultry to russia each year. other leading exports include tobacco, nuts, and soybeans. anne-marie? >> michelle sigona, thank you very much. it's no surprise russia has hurt the public's perception in the united states. a new cbs poll shows 56% of americans see russia as unfriendly or an enemy. that's up sharply from 24% in 2007. the poll also shows many disapprove of how president obama has handled the conflict. now, the president just wrapped up a historic three-day summit with african leaders amid the deadly ebola outbreak and he vows the u.s. will continue its work to help contain the virus. >> countries that have been affected are the first to admit that what's happened here is that the public health systems have been overwhelmed. >> the president's comments come just as the world health organization released new numbers about the outbreak. there are now more than 1,700 suspected cases of ebola in four west african nations. officials say the virus has killed 932 people so far. well, despite the new number, some doctors on the ground in west africa believe the impact of the disease is much worse. debora patta is tracking developments in south africa. >> reporter: a top liberian health official tells us that there may be hundreds more fatalities than has already been reported and the outbreak is going to get worse. one of the epicenters of the disease is in liberia's capital where there are only two treatment centers. one of them has only 18 beds for ebola victims. this means that many infected people are being left to die in their villages without any medical care. on the front line of the battle, many health workers have died. officials say it's because they don't have proper protective gear or adequate training, but it is fear of the disease that is causing more harm than the disease itself. >> we've got to use sanitizer. >> reporter: teams are now patrolling neighborhoods to educate the public on how the disease is spread, but many believe isolation wards are, in effect, a death sentence, causing people to hide sick relatives and bury their bodies in deep secret. what's different about this ebola outbreak is that it's the first time in the history of the disease that it spread to urban arias, places like the capital of liberia, home to more than 1 million people have been hardest hit and con tang them in this epicenter is proving to be extremely complicated. debora patta, cbs news, johannesburg, south africa. closing arguments began this morning in the trial of oscar pistorius as the five-month-long yesterday. she passed by document checks in san jose, went through security, and boarded a plane without a ticket. hartman wasn't caught until she landed in los angeles, but she won't say how she did
