S. Flag, the vietnamese, and the north korean flags. At the last summit in june, President Trump and kim jongun agreed to work toward denuclearization. He apparently wasnt in a hurry, and neither it seems is President Trump. I think well have a very tremendous summit. We want denuclearization. Reporter before departing for hanoi, the president said hes no longer insisting that north korea quickly denuclearize. Im not in a rush. I dont want to rush anybody. I just dont want testing. As long as theres no testing, were happy. Reporter north korea has not tested any weapons for more than a year, but there is clear evidence the regime is Still Producing nuclear fuel and working on its weapons program. The first summit in singapore ended with a vague commitment to work towards denuclearization, despite President Trump tweeting that north korea is no longer a Nuclear Threat, the regime has yet to give up a single weapon or even disclose how many it has. On sunday, secretary of state mike pompeo seemed to contradict the president. Do you think north Korea Remains a Nuclear Threat . Yes. But the president said he doesnt. Thats not what he said. Deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein suggested the government should not release information on uncharged subjects. I know theres tension there between the desire to be more transparent and let everybody know what were doing and the desire to ensure the government, through its work, is not unduly tainting anybody. Reporter rosenstein said he was not referencing a specific case, but noted the issue of transparency is one that will soon be discussed nationally. Rosenstein has overseen the russia investigation since he appointed mueller in may 2017 and is in frequent contact with the special counsel. Mueller is required to submit a report to the attorney general, but there is no legal requirement for the attorney general, william barr, to share information with the public. I do.
