According to government scientists, the average temperature was 55. 3 degrees. That broke the record set back in 1998 by one degree. Of course it doesnt apply to today because it was chilly. It was chilly this morning. No frost on my window yet but but well see temperatures struggling to get out of the 40s tomorrow maybe snow down to 1500 feet. So big changes around the bay area for today. A lot of clouds beginning to move in. We have some patchy, dense fog early on this morning in the valleys but you can see the cold front now sliding into the state bringing some showers into far Northern California. That is going to usher in some much colder temperatures outside even a chance of rain by the afternoon. As we look outside right now, we have mostly cloudy skies a little bit hazy. The temperatures a little cool in spots. 39 degrees in concord with some fog. 37 in livermore. 48 degrees in San Francisco. And 44 in san jose. This afternoon, well, were going to try and watch these temperatures cool off again. Yesterday we had some 50s and 60s. By the afternoon, these temperatures really going to start to dive. This is the beginning. Much cooler air. We are going to see these numbers down a good 3 to 8 degrees by this afternoon and then tomorrow, there is a chance we could see some snow down to about 1500 feet in some of the north bay valleys and temperatures struggling to get out of the 40s. Thats a look at weather. Lets check on traffic with elizabeth. We are going out to south san jose where we have been following an overturn accident. We are not sure about the extent of the injuries. Its an overturn accident. The car is in a ditch on the righthand shoulder southbound 101 approaching blossom hill road. At this point, our sensors are not picking up any major delays. Actually in both directions. Overnight we only had one northbound lane open across the Golden Gate Bridge. It looks like they have done some lane changes. I just saw a Truck Driving by doing those lane changes so now more northbound and southbound lanes open. They picked up a lot of overnight roadwork. Elsewhere, your drive time still in the clean down the popular freeways through the Altamont Pass in livermore, down the eastshore freeway and westbound 24, and the nimitz. Lets see, lets go out get a check of what did we put in there the bay bridge where overnight we had roadwork on both decks. They should be wrapping up the upper deck roadwork. Lower deck roadwork still there heading towards oakland. 880 near hegenberger we have our live Traffic Camera and you can see things are flowing nicely this morning. But you may find some roadwork in lanes between 66 and 980 in both directions. That is traffic. Back to you guys. Thank you. But cbs aviation analyst captain Chesley Sullenberger says its too soon to judge the new plane. If you are traveling for san jose, it looks like northbound and southbound both moving at the limit. Well get a quick bridge check. Crossing the san mateo bridge this is the commute direction of westbound 92 towards the highrise, still only about 14 minutes in either direction. So obviously both sides of that span look good eastbound and westbound. So to our maps now. Some areas of overnight roadwork has been picked up now that were past 5 00 including westbound 84. But look at this. We are seeing some slowdowns now on eastbound 84 because that roadwork is scheduled to wrap up closer towards 6 00 this morning. So another 45 minutes or so and thats when caltrans crews will head out. Otherwise, southbound 101 approaching blossom hill, this is that accident, the one accident were watching right now and it is off to the right hand shoulder so thats the good news. Not blocking lanes but it sounds like a car actually went off the roadway down a ditch. Sometimes they need a tow crew so a lane may be blocked. Southbound 101. Golden gate bridge flowing nicely both directions. They have more in northbound and southbound lanes. Thats a check of your timesaver traffic. Lets get an update on your forecast and lawrence is talking snow. Big changes coming our way. Outside now we have fog in the valleys visibilities less than a quarter mile inland temperatures in the 30s and 40s. As we look toward this afternoon, we have a cold front swinging on in bringing with it at least a chance of showers as we head throughout the day especially toward the afternoon hours and into the evening. All right. High pressure thats been hanging out over the last couple of days looks like its going to be moving out of town. This cold front on final approach bringing with it all that cold air from the gulf of alaska. So these temperatures really going to take a nosedive and thats why were looking at snow down to about 1500 feet maybe in the north bay maybe about 2,000 feet into the santa cruz mountains. Lets see if we can time it out a little bit. Some clouds out there right now. Through the day they will thicken up and then in the afternoon, 1 00, we again to see a few showers beginning to show up in the north bay. And then it slowly sags to the south so the commute could be wet at times. By 7 00 showers all the way down into san jose. Behind that, thats when that really cold air moves in. The moisture will be limited but if you could see some snowflakes over the mountaintops, if we get some of the cells to move over land. So with that in mind, it looks like big changes coming up in the next couple of days heading to the high country bring your chains. Today were expecting about 46 degrees mostly cloudy in tahoe rain in much of far Northern California. And around the bay area today, these temperatures will started to drop off. Plan on 56 degrees in livermore, 55 degrees in San Francisco, and about 55 also in santa rosa. Next couple of days could be a little unsettled and possibly wet into tomorrow morning. The temperatures by tomorrow afternoon 40s and low 50s for highs, it will be cool. Dry but staying cool on friday. Looks like partly cloudy skies over the weekend, guys, but these next couple of days its going to be fun. Yeah. It could be, lawrence. All right. Thank you.
