So we just checked in with caltrans and apparently the reopened the ramp a little ahead of schedule. That ramp is reopened from westbound 37 to southbound 101. It was set until about 6 00 this morning for ongoing roadwork in the area. You know it if commute that area but right now everything is open and goes all the way towards the Golden Gate Bridge. There is some roadwork in southbound 101 various lanes blocked from the waldo tunnel through the waldo grade but as you can see traffic again still light into the San Francisco. They reopened more southbound 101 lanes. They had the lane change trucks out there about 10 minutes ago so everything is free and clear all the way down towards doyle drive. Mass transit always a great option maybe on a friday. We have Critical Mass by the way in San Francisco later on this evening. Drive time 15 minutes to the dublin interchange. We have cameras everywhere this morning. If you are coming down the peninsula right past candlestick all the way towards sfo, traffic is moving fine all along 101, 280 is moving fine as well all the way down through San Mateo County. And back out towards the east bay this is a live look at the nimitz. So the Oakland Coliseum is somewhere there in the distance and taillights are northbound traffic towards downtown oakland. Police say a nanny killed a 2 yearold boy and a 6yearold girl in her care before stabbing herself. The nanny is in critical can. The mother discovered them in the bathroom after coming home with her third child. Those wounds are self inflicted from the kitchen knife found on the bathroom room in. They have not released the name of the suspect. Yesterday they came out with the information saying hey, an arrest was made but we are hoping to get more details at the eden township substation. Last week firefighters found a body of a woman inside. Investigators believe an accelerant was used to start the fire and the suspect beat the woman after slipping through an unlocked door. They believe the fire was set to cover up the attack and the robbery at the home. Now, the victim was identified as 58yearold barbara [ indiscernible ] a retired woman who lived at the home on the 2400 block of san carlos with her longtime partner a retired San Francisco firefighter. He is not considered a suspect in this case. Now, police have been investigating the case as a homicide. One deputy even said this is the most violent case that he has ever seen. A man accused of kidnapping a 9 yearold girl from her San Mateo School is now facing charges in another case. Police say 25yearold bradley morosic may be the suspect in a daly city peeping incident. They accused him of hiding in a restroom stall taking note coast of young girls. Mrozek is in jail from last month. A 6yearold boy is safe with his mother after he disappeared from his hayward school. Krystal says her son kay len who has autism was attending an Afterschool Program at south gate elementary school. When she arrived to pick him up yesterday wants there. The police was not called until they realize he was missing. Several Police Officers and volunteered searched but a half hour later she got a call from a chuck e. Cheese restaurant more than a mile and a half away. The manager spotted the number on the boys medical id bracelet. School district officials are investigating how he got away. 5 32. Demonstrators have returned to the site of last years occupy oakland protest. Some 200 people marching through downtown oakland. Protestors occasionally blocked traffic but the night was largely peaceful. They came one year after police tore down the tent city at frank ogawa plaza. Last night police followed the marchers and gave warnings through a loudspeaker. Just two arrests were reported. The chp will begin patrolling the streets of oakland to help the stretched Police Department there. Officers will be deployed starting next week to boost patrols in high crime areas and help the traffic enforcement. A similar deployment is planned for the city of stockton. Tokyos nikkei lost more than 1. 3 and hong kongs hang seng dropped more than 1 . A day of modest gains on wall street as disappointing earnings weighed heavily on investors. The dow rose 26 points at the close of third place trading while the nasdaq gained four points. Stock futures are falling this morning despite betterthan expected news on the economy. The economy grew 2 in the 3rd quarter. Mostly due to higher consumer and Government Spending as well as home construction. That is up from 1. 3 in the 2nd quarter. Bad news for apple investors. The tech company missed expectations for the second consecutive quarter. Apple sold nearly 27 million iphones in the quarter. That was at the high and of expectations. The company also sold 14 million ipads slightly less than expected. And apple is warning of an expected dip in 4th quarter earnings predicting 1175 per share nearly 4 short of analyst estimates. The company is blaming the cost of producing new gadgets for the reduction in profits. And it is a big day for microsoft. The Company Releases its latest version of its software today. They say windows 8 is the most dramatic overhaul of the operating system in 17 years designed to run on pcs, tablets and smartphones also today microsoft beginning to sell its own tablet computer called surface. And not that i am a predator to this bug but one good squeeze or one good kick and it would hurt. I think i would be a little leery if i saw this outdoors. I dont think i would pick that one up. I wouldnt either. But they are cool to look at and you can visit them in the bug house at the oakland zoo. You have lots of bugs in there. We do. I couldnt tell you how many species. Always something new at the bug house. We have a new event at boo at the zoo. Its one of my favorite events of the year. Kids under age 12 in costume get a free rides ticket. You can trick or treat throughout the zoo. You can help us make treats for the animals. There is a costume parade it is just a really fun festive atmosphere. It does sound like a great time and, of course, you can check the animals at the zoo, too. And you know what . It looks like we are going to have great weather.
