seen. >> reporter: within hours, the communist country responded. the army issued a statement saying it is examining plans to make an enveloping fire at the thsmall pacific island has two military jong-un would understand. >> reporter: secretary of state rex tillerson made those comments on his way to a refueling stop in guam. he said he is not worried about the north korean reth d at sleeanp, either. several east asian countries are on high alert and china issued a statement saying the situation on the korean peninsula is highly sensitive and that it hopes all parties involved can stop aggravating each other to avoid escalation. michelle? >> and weijia, we just learned today, investigators for robert mueller special counsel searched the home of president trump's former campaign manager paul manafort. tell us about that? >> reporter: actually, this manart coirmethat archn fo ppened and also saidr manafort has always been very cooperative with the law. of course, he has been the subject of an ongoing investigation into his past political work in ukraine and you're right, now special counsel mueller is looking to see if he is involved in broader investigation into russian kpix 5. new at noon, police have locad the guardian of a 2- year-old found wandering alone in san jose overnight. kpix 5 reporter jessica flores has more details from the apartment complex where the boy was found. >> reporter: a security guard here at the woods apartment complex in san jose tells us this is the area that toddler was found nd 30 a.m. it's still a mystery how he got here. the security guard saw the boy and he was dirty and only wearing a diaper. he said a couple ead foaround h before police got here. about six hours after he was found, police announced they have located the boy's guardian. >> at 9:2 1, we received today call from a person saying they were missing their 2-year-old child. when officers arrived at that location, which was nearby, they confirmed a lot of the details that we already had. our officers are currently interviewing the guardian to determinho the inis contact with our family violence unit to determine what's the next step. >> reporter: police tell us the boy is in the care of child services. in san jose, i'm jessica flores, kpix 5. afliceter caught up with th suspect accused of murdering a man in belmont. jovhon alexander stewart was taken into custody at the union city bart station this morning. investigators say that start ot and killed dejohn jones at an apartment on saturday. the incident marks belmont's first homicide of thyepoe ar at > several bart stations. they are trying to end the spike in crime. kpix 5's jackie ward on the latest arrest in connection to two violent acts this week. >> reporter: in a few hours, the man accused of two unprovoked attacks on bart riders that happened last week is expected to make his first court appearance. 42-year-old mario washington of berkeley is allegedly the man behindhappened thursday at the bay fair station in san leandro. bart police say washington hit a passenger in the head with a metal object, then punched and kicked the victim before running out of the stban.rtioay the suspect punched a passenger twice in the face. witnesses say both attacks were unwarranted. these are assaults are part of the reason that starting today, bart increasing security patrols in san francisco and oakland. this pisassenger is happy beca of the number of homeless people she sees every day on bart. >> you're trapped. you get on the train and you leave your car and the santa rita road and found a loaded pistol with no serial number, crystal meth, tar heroin, cocaine, ecstasy pills, and cash. detectives also found three stolen cars with switched or wiped-out v.i.n. numbers. police arrested a man living at the house and his female companion. he was on bail for attempted murder in solano county we are just learned cal/osha is now investigating what caused a
