It was five miles north of the eureka airplane. The Sheriffs Office says the wreckage has been found and two people are confirmed dead. The wildfire in Monterey County is growing and has burned more than 31,000 acres in an area south of carmel. 41 homes have been destroyed. Another 2,000 buildings are still threatened. You know, today i really wanted to talk about a special situation that occurs with all of us veterinarians and with owners in that you have just brought your animal in for the annual exam. We may not see anything abnormal in the blood tests and two weeks later theyre sick. We are encouraging you to do lab work again. The pushback is why do we have to do that again . We just paid. Why is there a change . In dogs and cats changes happen very quickly especially older they are even a day or two can make a difference so if we dont do the lab work we wont be able to discover whats going on. And in my practice, just recently we had a dog come in for his annual exam in july. And we did blood work and everything looked good. And then two weeks later he went into kidney failure and the owner was unwilling to do the work. Animals cant tell you whats wrong. They tend to mask their symptoms.
