And attacking Hillary Clinton and barack obama and those are topics this crowd was eager to hear at the end of his speech donald trump came out on stage to shake hands. Huge standing ovation for many, many minutes. I think that the pence speech tonight was a big success. But pences moment in the spotlight was somewhat overshadowed by boos for ted cruz as we mentioned. He refused to endorse trump. Melissa was there to watch it play out. The security guards were on high alert scanning the crowd for troublemakers. No fights broke out. It was peaceful. But it was tense in the arena. But this was more than a march. A few of the protestors have chained themselves to the doors of the oakland Police Officers association. You can see this young woman has her neck chained here by a bicycle lock and down below she has her waist chained as well with a chain, the doors to the poa are chained, as well. Oakland police are telling us theres no longer anyone in the building. Protestors saying they will be out here as long as possible and their demand are simple. We will not leave until we get that 50 of funds from the Police Department invested in black future. Oakland gives 62 of its budget to the Oakland Police department the same department that murdered 7 black men in 2015, the same department that has over a dozen officers involved in raping and trafficking of a 17yearold girl. Reporter this group opposing Police Brutality want libby schaaf out and them a Police Commission overseen by civilians. So i am in support of a independent, um, commission.
