The president of france says an egyptair plane carrying 66 people to paris has crashed. Jonathan vigliotti has the story. Reporter relatives of the passengers on the missing plane rushed to cairo airport after officials announced it. 66 people left paris Charles Degaulle airport Late Wednesday night. 40 minutes from reaching cairo the plane vanished over the mediterranean. It was reportedly flying at 37,000 feet at the time. Thats cruise altitude. Very, very few accidents occur at that altitude. Less than 10 . Reporter Officials Say the pilot last made contact with Ground Control 10 minutes before the planes disappearance. Officials say the pilot made no distress calls. This isnt the first time egyptair has made headlines. Back in march, an egyptair plane was hijacked and diverted to cypress by a mentally unstable man. In 1999 one of the flights crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near nantucket, massachusetts. All 217 were killed. The copilot switched off the autopilot and pointed it downward before the crash. Egyptian officials insist mechanical error was to blame. Jonathan vigliotti, cbs news. The pilot of egyptair flight 804 reportedly had more than 6,000 hours of flying experience. His copilot had close to 3,000. Contra costa county investigators are looking into a deadly shooting in rodeo. The Sheriffs Department got several calls about shots fired just after noon yesterday. Deputies found shell casings in the roadway at mariposa and napa avenues. The Sheriffs Department was notified about a 29yearold man who died after being shot. The victims name hasnt been rel released a missing millbrae father was found. Police are saying he was murdered. 27yearold keith green was last seen april 28. He was found near 101 a week ago. Right now, our focus is to find out what happened to keith and to do the best job we can for him and his family. Detectives have not revealed how he died. No one has been arrested so far. Two officers have resigned from the Oakland Police department amid a Sexual Misconduct investigation. Christin ayers reports. Two officers have resigned. Reporter the officers among four who were suspended from the Oakland Police force amid allegations of Sexual Misconduct with an underaged girl. She is now 19 and calls herself celeste guap. She claimed on facebook, i have not hooked up with any current opd officers while under age. No misconduct. Our investigation continues. Were not going to stop. Were going to move forward. Reporter but Oakland Police admit the resignations could impact their internal affairs investigation. Now that the officers have resigned, they are under no obligation to cooperate and they cannot be disciplined by police. Oakland city councilman noel gallo applauded the resignations but said they should have come sooner. There is no excuse for their behavior. As rivers flow briskly and reservoirs grow full, state officials are loosening up our water restrictions. Scenes like this have californias water experts feeling optimistic. They just voted to let local water districts set their own conservation criteria, which means brown lawns may see some extra water. The move also lifts a statewide order that requires a 20 savings in water. Because the state says conservationists have been doing all the right things. Its phenomenal and unprecedented. So if you are coming out of pleasanton or out of dublin or sunol, youre going to center to, if you are heading west on 580, go all the way up to alcosta and make the turnaround. That interchange closed for ongoing roadwork. And tracking your ride to the bay bridge this morning, its an easy commute here with another delays yet for westbound 580. The series is now tied one game apeoples the warriors are also waking up winners in a different way. They have been named sports team of the year at the ninth annual sports business awards in new york. And while we watched the game on tv, some east bay politicians scored the best seats in the arena for free. Only on 5, we learned that a contract with the arena reserves 3 topnotch suites for east bay supervisors and council members. Some city leaders give the seats away to nonprofits and Community Groups but others have attended as many as 41 games in just a year and a half. One councilwomans tickets totaled a sobering 125,000. This is a public resource. So this would be like using a city vehicle to take your family on vacation. The city owns part of it so thats why we get it. Its not like the warriors or the as are giving us a gift. One of the few politicians willing to talk on camera about the vip tickets did use just 18 for himself and family. In morgan hill dozens of cows decided to walk on the wild side and burst through a familys backyard fence. Kpix 5s betty yu spoke with the woman whose home became a farm. I think they just moved up against the fence and loosened the board and decided they could come through and basically push their way through. Reporter you could call it could youmageddon. Were talking about 60 something cows. Sheryl sent these photos of the stampede bulldozing her bench. You can see they took off the whole side of it. They just kind of reporter destroying her plants, trees and flowers in full bloom. It was just really nice and now its nothing. Reporter these cows usually graze in the open space up the hill so the grass may just have been greener on the other side. It was quite a shock to see. And then what do you do when you have all those cows in your yard . How do you get rid of them . I had no idea. I tried kind of screaming, making a loud noise and they could have cared less. Reporter eventually a Morgan Hill Police officer spent an hour corralling the cows and sent them back out the way they barged in. These hightech workers say, they wanted a quieter home life when they moved in ten years ago. This is something you dont expect. You shake your head and open your eyes in case youre dreaming. Insurance costs will be covered by the person who owns all the grass where the cows usually roam. New this morning the bay areas tick season is in full swing. Pets and owners are at risk. Ticks are in grass, trees and bushes. They can spread lyme disease and there are typically more instances along the coast and eastern parts of the state. In other parts of the country, the problem is even more severe. We have had dogs end up in shelters that have had 100plus ticks on them. Its almost certain they are going to have some kind of problems because of it at that point. Vets say you can help prevent tick problems by keeping your pets up to date on shots and making sure that they are on a strict parasite regimen. In the waters off santa cruz, its the season where shark sightings are common but now pups are being spotted and experts say thats quite rare for the area. One researcher tells us that warmer ocean waters are spurring a northern migration enticing the animals to flee Southern California for beaches much closer to us. Still, were told no scenes from jaws should unfold around here. Some of these sharks are yearlings, you know, barely 6 feet long. And they have an entirely different menu. They are eating little leopard sharks, you know, uhm, and things like that, bat rays. They are not going to really bother humans. Still want to be careful though. There is another reason swimmers shouldnt feel too shaky. There havent been any close calls since 2012 when the sharks took a bite out of a kayak. Thats because the kayak was in the way of the human. Were not tracking any problems here for 101, 280 or highway 85 or 87 the guadalupe parkway. They will be busy later as you can well imagine and ill tell you why with the sharks game coming up tonight. Heres a look at your bay bridge commute. An easy ride out of the maze may see. And your westbound ride is coming in at just 18 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the maze here on 92 and the san mateo bridge this is an easy ride just 13 minutes now across the span. We are not tracking any problems coming over from the toll plaza. And here at the golden gate bridge, its an easy ride coming down from marin county.
