Lawrences turn to chime in on a great weekend. Very nice weather around the bay area. Hasnt been a bad week but we wont have drizzle. Outside right now low clouds and fog moving in along the coastline. Most of the valleys some of the bays actually clear right now so we are going to see a very nice day ahead although the temperatures may cool slightly. Theres a weak area of low pressure thats moving north and that may be enough to cool down the temperatures by a few degrees. Thats about it. Otherwise, we have some 80s expected for the valleys again a lot of 70s and low 80s inside the bay and patchy fog out toward the coastline and the sea breeze. Out the door we have some clouds over San Francisco temperatures in the 50s and the 60s now. But by the afternoon, 84 degrees in livermore. About 80 in san jose. And 68 degrees becoming mostly sunny in San Francisco. All right. Lets check the roads with elizabeth. And we are seeing some slowdowns on our sensors heading into the east bay. If you are heading to the bay bridge toll plaza, this is what it looks like now over from the east bay into San Francisco. It looks clear, no delay at all on other sensors and were not seeing much overnight roadwork to slow you down. Different story in oakland. Southbound 880 jackson to embarcadero three right lanes closed until 5 00, also the northbound direction of 880 from 16th to broadway three right lanes closed on that side of the road until 5 00. Santa clara county supervisor dave cortes is calling for all county departments to cut water use by 25 . Cortes, who is running for mayor of san jose, brought up his proposal yesterday. He said he knows there will be exceptions. There will be some areas where its hard to achieve a 25 goal such as the emergency room at the hospital. Well take that into account. Cortes said landscape watering should not be a priority during this time of drought. He wants the county to set an example for all residents. And another unfortunate victim of the drought is honey production. California is one of the countrys largest suppliers of honey but without rain, there are fewer plants honeybees need and farmers are planting fewer crops where they can forage. All this on top of the worldwide shortage that has pushed honey prices to record highs. We need some rain, lawrence. We need the rain. Unfortunately, were still about 2 months away. Hopefully well have el nino coming up. The weekend is coming up. Patchy fog is long the coastline and inside the bay. Otherwise, clear in the interior valleys. The fog is around early on today. May begin to reinforce itself a little throughout the day today. We have a weak low passing to the north. Today very nice after patchy fog this morning mostly sunny skies, just slightly cooler temperatures and then plenty of sun for the weekend. And those temperatures going to warm up a little bit, too. That low passing in the Pacific Northwest may be just enough to weaken this ridge to bring us some cooler temperatures and reinforce the fog along the coastline. So that may pile up as we head throughout the day. The good news is, the sea breeze bringing in nice fresh air around the bay area. The air quality is looking good everywhere you go. In the Central Valley 99 in fresno and hot. 89 in sacramento. 74 and beautiful in lake tahoe. And as you head around the bay you will see temperatures soaring in the 70s and 80s in the south bay. 60s along the coastline. Lots of 80s inland by the afternoon. Some 70s into the delta and as you make your way into the bay, 72 degrees in alameda, 68 in San Francisco. Next couple of days, we are going to see more sunshine, a little less fog and warmer temperatures too and next week, guess what, if you like the heat, maybe some mid90s, liz, by the middle of the week. All right. A little heat wave. In the meantime, we have one more workday to go this week. And mostly its just your overnight roadwork especially at this time right before 5 00. They havent cleared a lot of it including westbound 580, three right lanes blocked through livermore and pleasanton. Its still early, traffic is still light. So the drive time is unaffected. Heads up, were seeing some there. Just about 10 minutes ago those lanes change trucks drove by. We saw some flashing lights. They are trying to get more southbound lanes open in the commute direction four southbound, two northbound and you can see everything looks okay this morning out at sausalito. So if you are traveling the nimitz, this is another area where were seeing a lot of overnight roadwork near your downtown oakland exits. Northbound and southbound. So that should be wrapping up here very shortly if it hasnt already in the clearing stages. That was scheduled to wrap up by 5 00 so closer to 66 high street, you can see everything moves okay near the oakland coliseum. So this is one accident we are watching. The eastbound lanes of 580 approaching canal boulevard. Just a heads up. It looked like we were seeing more delays a little earlier maybe 10 minutes ago closer to when the accident was reported. For a while the canal boulevard offramp was blocked and they were doing a lot of overnight roadwork like they have been for a while on the eastbound and westbound sides approaching the Richmond San Rafael bridge. If you are heading westbound, this is what it looks like approaching the Richmond San Rafael bridge toll plaza t obviously, looks great right now getting into marin county. Sensors through the south bay, 280 still looks great, guadalupe parkway 101 no delay at all from morgan hill. Heading across the bay bridge toll plaza looks great through the macarthur maze all the approaches still fine. Lower deck also looks great if you are heading out to the east bay. And mass transit, no real issues to report so far. Bart systemwide on time. And ace train number one looks good. Remember kcbs, our radio partner, when you hit the roads at 106. 9 fm or 740am.
