Kpix 5s andria borba with the fingerpointing over what went wrong. Reporter sorry, San Francisco, no millennium falcon. No wolfman jack. No jarjar bing. George lucas Cultural Museum is going to the windy city and seemingly the opening happy person about this, the mayor of chicago. I cant thank george and melody enough for choosing chicago. This will be a tremendous, as i said, opportunity, a significant step for the city. No other major American City has these type of cultural and educational institutions. Reporter the decision and statement by lucas regretful. Building in chicago is the right decision for the museum. But the bay area will always be my home. After years of back and forth between lucas and the Presidio Trust about building the museum on crissy field where the Sports Basement is, the trust officially 86th the plan a few months back. I would rather have seen a different outcome, but that is his decision. Reporter in a lastditch effort city leaders offered up seawall 330 on the embarcadero across from piers 30 and 32 for 30 million. But they couldnt beat the 1 land lease offered in chicago. Terse statements from the San Francisco chamber of commerce and mayor ed lee placed blame on the Presidio Trust for blowing the deal. Earlier this year, the Presidio Trust unwisely rejected mr. Lucas proposal for a site near crissy field which we understand forced mr. Lucas to look at cities like chicago and put San Franciscos chance at landing the museum in jeopardy. In the battle for george lucas heart and museum, it appears San Francisco did not have the force on its side. In San Francisco, andria borba, kpix 5. Audries law advances in sacramento but in a revised version. The bill is named for 15year old audrie pott the saratoga teenager who killed herself after she was sexual assaulted at a party and humiliated when pictured on line. Her attackers were given a few months in juvenile hall. The minimum sentencing for juveniles was removed from the bill.
