School Officials Say it appears though to be an isolated case n recent months four students were infected at Ucsanta Barbara about bacterial meningitis a rare stain of the disease and ucriverside reported a staffer also got sick. On the east coast at princeton more than 5,000 students have been vaccinated for meningitis after 8 students were sick there. San francisco will pause today to mark the oneyear anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. A vigil is planned for 1 p. M. Today at city hall. 20 first graders and six adults were killed in the mass shooting in newtown, connecticut. One year later the school no longer exists. It has been torn down and a new school will open on the same site in 2016. Newtown will not mark tomorrows anniversary with a public remembrance and tv news crews are asked to stay out. Typically right around 5 00 since we start to see things clear out and obviously no delay because traffic is so light past Oakland Airport and coliseum. Highway 4 they finished their overnight roadwork about a half hour ago. But tonight, they are going to have a full freeway shutdown in the westbound lanes of highway 4 beginning at midnight. Thats from lone tree to somersville. Hopefully they will get lanes reopened by 5 a. M. Saturday morning. And a check of bart right now all bart trains on time. More than 20 in fact all good to go. Investigators say it was a well planned robbery at the Oak Grove High School on wednesday night. The thief interrupted the bingo games towards the end of the time in when the greatest amount of money was available. The man ran away with thousands of dollars that had been raised for the schools band program. San rafael investigators are looking into an accident involving a van that hit a gas line and cut power to an elementary school. It happened last night at laurel dell elementary and police say the driver lost control and suffered minor injuries. Police had to shut down the street and the gas was quickly turned off. And some developing news out of north korea this morning where the government says it has executed an uncle of their leader kim jongun. The leading figure in the north korean government was accused of being a traitor trying to seize power. Official charges were womanizing to corruption. Its unusual for the north korean government to publicly announce such a high level execution. And today is the last chance mourners have to view Nelson Mandelas body. It credits partners like citibank for speeding up the loan process for Small Businesses in the city. Search for missing children across the country is getting a little more tech savvy now. The National Center for missing and exploited children just opened up a branch in palo alto. It customizes software, helps the center make sense of their data faster so they can track down missing children and stay ahead. For years, analysts have relied on tech giants such as google, facebook and adobe. But the new location in the Silicon Valley gives the Company Better access to brand new tools. This is the incubator. This is the area where a lot of these new ideas are developed and launched. Since 2008, the center has handled more than 60,000 missing children cases. Nationwide of those, 6,000 were in california. Tech companies are experiencing some growing pains as many invade San Franciscos rougher neighborhoods. I think a lot of these companies are young and i think for most companies they dont feed their social responsibility or their Corporate Giving until theyre much older. The Pittsburg High School marching band calls itself a show band, mostly because they like to show off a little bit. They play music they like.
