Reporter now, a couple of things we want to note from the recent press conference that local hospitals said some of the victims there have been upgraded or released. We also have the glenn county sheriffs department, they are going to be working on notifying identifying all the deceased. As for the investigation, ntsb agents showed up here an hour ago as tow trucks and excavators worked to remove the debris. You can see it making its way off i5. They have been here all morning to move this wreck from the roadway. The burnedout shells of a tour bus and a fedex semi on i5 as investigators try to determine the cause of the crash. On scene, it is affirmative, semi versus a tour bus. Reporter Authorities Say the southbound semi suddenly swerved across the grassy median at 5 40 p. M. And slammed head on into the tour bus headed northbound. Bus was carrying Los Angeles High School students to Humboldt State university for a college visit. At this time, we dont know whether the fedex driver had fallen asleep, whether he experienced a mechanical failure with his vehicle or whether there was a separate collision on the southbound side that caused him to lose control. Reporter the crash killed five students, three chaperones and the drivers of the bus and truck. Dozens of others had cuts, burns and broken bones. Many students ran for their lives through a window before hearing the explosion and seeing the bus burst into flames. I just kind of see black, but theres fire at the front of the bus. Its crushed in the front. Reporter Jeremy Lockett was driving on i5 and pulled over to take these photos. You could feel the heat from the flames like you have were standing next to it. I have never seen anything like that. Reporter smoke from the explosion and fire could be seen for miles. Investigator spent the night here trying to figure out why the truck cross need oncoming traffic. Investigators will use sophisticated surveying and mapping equipment and 3d diagramming in order to fully reconstruct the sequence of events that caused this. We are going to be investigating the human, machine and environment. Reporter survivors were taken to four hospitals. Fedex released a Statement Last night saying, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the tragic accident on i5 in california. We are cooperating fully with authorities as they investigate. A Southern California family is desperately trying to locate one of two identical twins on that bus. Marissa, 17, seen right here on the right is missing according to her brother miguel. San Francisco Police have arrested the woman they believe was responsible for hitting and killing an elderly woman in a crosswalk. The 31yearold was booked into jail on felony hitandrun and vehicular manslaughter charges. The crash was march 20 in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood. The woman who was in her 80s was crossing the street when she was hit by a dodge durango. She was pronounced dead at the scene. He is taking to social media media now talking about that investigation. A woman in florida apparently says she was in a hotel room last week with kaepernick. Teammate Quinton Patton and former 49er ricardo lockette, she says they were drinking and smoking marijuana and then later she woke up in a hospital. Kaepernick tweeted to his followers this morning that the charges are completely wrong. He says, i take great pride in who i am and what i do but i guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up. For decades, the victims have accused the vatican of turning a blind eye to pedophile priest. They say the church has covered up the sexual abuse allowing abuse of thousands of children. Pope francis has set up a Vatican Committee to help fight sexual abuse and says the safety of children must be a priority. We dont want to take a step back in dealing with this problem and the sanctions that must be imposed, he said. On the contrary, i think we must be even stronger. Temperatures right now of 66 degrees into concord. 62 in san jose. And 60 degrees in San Francisco. I think throughout the afternoon the low clouds will pull back to the coast. You will see partly cloudy skies elsewhere. And then tonight a very strong surge of low clouds and fog going to push well onshore maybe even through the delta into the Central Valley likely seeing drizzle near the coastline and slowly burning off saturday. Sunday will warm up. In the meantime, the low pressure system continues to approach the coastline. That will help deepen that marine layer later on tonight into tomorrow morning. Then behind that, High Pressure begins to sneak back in and the temperatures start to warm up. Around the state today 80s into the Central Valley, about 75 degrees in yosemite. And about 61 degrees and mostly cloudy into the monterey bay. Computer models showing you those clouds streaming across the sky. This man has influenced who came before him and even a few who came after him he is that good and i dont envy whoever they try to put in that chair. Cbs made the announcement a week after he said elbow out next year. The network ceo says coal ber will not portray an outof touch conservative as he has on comedy come. Instead he will just be himself. The persona of Stephen Colbert is going to be original, smart and different. Colbert turns 50 next month. His salary at Comedy Central is reported to be around 6 million, less than half of what letterman makes. If you want to add some color to that salad, fresh grocer Tony Tantillo says think radicchio. Reporter it has a strong great flavor. When you see it in the store you want to make sure these leaves have this nice that reason and white color color. If its wilting, you dont want it. When you bring it home, store it in the refrigerator. You dont have it for too long and never wash it before you store it. Always wash it right before you enjoy it. Now, what i like to do with radicchio, you see it in salads all the time but a new way to try it, brush it with olive oil, salted and pepper and grill it until it has char marks and then you will grilled radicchio and goes fantastic with your favorite protein. I like it with chicken, gives it a nice chicory bite. It turns out you dont need a College Diploma to get a decent job. Almost half of all hightech workers never graduated from college. College grads make more money over a lifetime than their colleagues who dropped out. But the gap is shrinking and this is true not just in Silicon Valley or south of market. What matters is what skills you have and what you can bring to the employer. And thats most true in tech but a cross sector in the bay area. I dont really look at the college degree.
