This is the last slaughterhouse in the bay area. Foster farms says a plant shutdown because of a cockroach infestation will resume operations tomorrow. The plant halted work on wednesday after a letter from the feds. Inspectors found cockroaches in several parts of the plant over the last few months most recently in a hand washing sink. Now a Berkeley Environmental group wants to place this warning label on gas pumps reminding folks that they are polluting the earth by using gasoline. Its not designed to guilt people. The sticker has to be approved by various cities before being placed on the pumps. The first city to consider it is berkeley. This fire started early this morning at south 28th street and East San Antonio early this morning. Salinas a neighbor on his way home from work, he saw the flames and quickly realized that lives were in danger. So he jumped out of his car went over to the house and banged on the door.
