More than a week ago 400 santa clara Court Workers went on strike. They said they havent had a raise in nearly a decade. That strike has had an impact on court services. We saw judges doing their own paperwork, clerks offices were closed. And search and arrest warrants were impacted. But the Court Workers said they hope that the message was loud and clear to the court that they deserve more pay. Were hearing all kinds of stories about orders not being filled out correctly, defendants being released, documents all over the place, people not being able to file documents, offices closed. But the workers said they hope that that message was loud and clear to the court that they deserve more pay. And record in for them to keep up at least a second year raise would give them an opportunity for Health Benefits<\/a> and spend more time with their families. Reporter so the court was offering them two 5 raise this is six months. The Court Workers<\/a> want a third raise after not getting a pay raise for nearly a decade. Tenants today in an East San Jose<\/a> apartment complex are meeting with Code Enforcement<\/a> officers with a list of complaints including bedbugs and plumbing problems. Tenants of the sunny apartments on story road say the complex has a 20year history the problems and the owner ignored their complaints. Unsafe conditions led to a fire that injured two children last year. Before tenants meet with Code Enforcement<\/a> they will be holding a rally outside city hall at 12 30 p. M. Today. It is one of the biggest busts in Contra Costa County<\/a>. Police arrested two dozen men and women in crimes. They are part of the norteno street gang, reportedly. Police say it took 12 different agencies and almost a year to prepare for this bust. These people face several charges including murder, drugs, prostitution and weapons trafficking. They are also connected according to officers to at least two shootings on an east bay freeway. These are bad guys and they are doing bad things. That activity gets its joy and profits from preying on our community. Authorities think there are about 75 gang members in Contra Costa County<\/a>. They have already seen a dip in crime since the arrests. In the east bay a 7edyear old everyyearold man is charged with torture and murder. He is accused of killing his wife linda. She was found dead sunday afternoon in a home she shared with her husband in blackhawk. The next morning, police rode back to the gated community to arrest him. Officials believe she died from bluntforce trauma. She was reportedly hit in the head more than 20 times. John was once a successful softball player. He could face the Death Penalty<\/a> if convicted. He is held on 2 million bail. A family in san leandro is looking for their daughter. 15yearold Deanna Benedetto<\/a> was last seen saturday night.
