brawls in berkeley. our cameras captured fight after fight as they came to blows at demonstrations in civic center park. police tried to keep them separated with a fence. it didn't last long. protesters spilled into the street where flair ups went on for hours. 11 people were hurt. and you can see why. here is a look at the weapons police confiscated. wooden sticks and poles. bear spray. knives and face. and a stun gun. police asking the public for photos or videos that may lead to more arrests. kpix 5's christin ayers shows us one video is getting nationwide attention tonight. >> reporter: video of the brawls that broke out here in berkeley yesterday have been circulating online but there is one video in particular that is sparking outrage over the actions of a known white supremest. >> reporter: of all the fights, explosions, and down right bloody brawls that characterized yesterday's patriot's day protest in berkeley one moment stood out. the young woman, anti-trump protesters, sucker punched on camera. her fist is exat the ended as well. the video and image have gone viral. the man throwing the punch live streamed before the incident. >> there has been a number of scuffles that vukerred. >> reporter: we -- that have occurred. >> reporter: we tried to reach the woman online. since the protest she received rape and murder threats online. it is unclear whether police are investigating the incident. i reached out to him to ask him if he had any comments about the video, he did not reply. christin ayers, kpix 5. 9 teenagers were hurt when a gunman opened fire and the shooter is on the loose. the teens were gathered after midnight when blitz started flying from -- bullets started flying crum across the street. all 9 were taken to the hospital and their injuries range from miner to serious. new at 6:00 p.m. a late father's ashes have been recovered three days after they were stolen from a rental car in san francisco. the man's widow and daughter dime the bay area from north carolina. they were near fisherman's warp when someone broke in and took off with their luggage. the ashes was with that. the ashes were dropped off at a police station. the man who left them there was not arrested. new at 6:00 p.m. a hunger strike in san jose as the city moves towards a vote on renters rights. wilson walker sat down with one of the hunger strikers outside city hall. >> we started on friday. this is the third day we have been fasting. >> reporter: tell us about why you are here. >> i am here because on tuesday of next week our city council is going to be voting on a very important issue. the issue is whether or not the city of san jose will vote to have protections for tenants. protect people from being evicted from their houses for no cost. >> reporter: i see you trying to get the word out. this is old fashioned on the street political work. >> right. one thing that we understand is for this issue to have an effect we need to go to there voters. this issue doesn't just effect the people -- >> reporter: one of the cases we profiled this week was a world war ii veteran -- >> shoved down my throat. >> this is an issue thatenths everyone -- that effects everyone. this is a very delicate issue. >> wire calling upon the city council to act on april 18 to vote for just cause evictions protections. >> reporter: city council looking at a couple possibilities on this new protections for renters. you want full coverage for anybody. >> exactly. exactly. that is the position we are supporting. >> reporter: how are you holding up?
