now, whatever your outdoor plans are the weather looking very cooperative. almost everybody in the 70s. the warm spot now in fairfield at 86 degrees. in august. this is fantastic. cool spot on the coast in the mid-60s. if you are heading to outside lands over the next couple of days temperatures pretty consistent where they were at golden gate park, mid-60s tomorrow, maybe a degree or two cooler on sunday with similar temperatures for the other event stern grove. temperatures in the low 60s. a couple degrees cooler when people are starting to go in at noon. the gates open. so everybody can claim their spot on the line. the rest of the weekend forecast and next week in a few minutes. there is now a legal block on construction of student housing. a court imposed an injunction. it starts uc berkeley from construction, demolition and tree cutting. protesters have been fighting to keep crews out starting work on a project for students and low-income residents. seven people were arrested, two officers issued as demonstrators squared off with construction crews and police n a statement uc berkeley says they are satisfied with the court's decision allowing them to close and secure the site and the campus is assessing options to get that done. the university also says it remains committed to solving their student housing crisis. security guards were called in to remove protesters from an oakland elementary school. anne makovec joins us live with the latest developments. >> these are parents and neighbors what refused to accept the district's decision to close the school, parker elementary. they have been spending time and holding unsanctioned classes there since june. technically, that's tres passin. staff went to the school to change locks and set an alarm after parents left the premises yesterday. but somebody broke through the locks to get back in. tensions escalated after security guards were called in to force out parents from the building. video shows a physical struggle between guards and occupiers trying to retake control of the school. they say at least one man was detained and put in handcuffs and more than ten people received minor to moderate injuries. parker is one of 11 schools voted to permanently close because of a lack of funding. team are not going away without a fight. >> we're here to serve our community by any means necessary. we have not committed any crimes. we have not done no wrong. if anything, we have done good for our community. we have given back. anything that was given to us, we have gave it back tenfold. >> the school district sent out a statement saying in farther we have directed them to leave from day one and have continued to do so. we continue to demand that they find other ways to safely and peacefully express their concerns. the occupiers say they are not giving up. >> thanks. and that area around barce elementary has been the site of violence in the past. surveillance video captured the moment gunshots started going off near the school. teachers told their students to run. a postal worker hid behind her truck. no one was injured. earlier that year a gunman fired shots into an apartment across from the school. that also sent children running for safety. cain velasquez has pled not guilty on attempted murder and other charges. he appeared in a santa clara county courtroom today accused of trying to kill a man suspected of molesting a young family member. police arrested him back in february. investigators say he was involved in a car chase through san jose where they say he rammed and shot at the car that harry goularte was in. he is the man accused in the child molestation case. velasquez is due back in court september 26. we are getting a glimpse into elon musk's countersuit against twitter. all this as a result of his decisions to back out of the $44 billion deal to buy the company. musk claims he was misled by twitter and according to analysis by his team 10% of the accounts on the platform are fake. twitter has repeatedly denied musk's claims. the case is set to go to trial in october snoot jobs report blew expectations away. we have recovered 22 million jobs lost in the pandemic and the strong gains are easing fears of a recession. shawn chitnis breaks it down. >> reporter: the hiring heat wave is showing no signs of cooling. the labor department says the economy added 528,000 jobs in july, more than double what economists anticipated. unemployment also ticked down 3.5% hitting pre-pandemic levels. >> it's gains broad based among totally different kinds of sectors. leisure and hospitality, business and professional services, government. all of these different areas seeing a big uptick in hiring. >> reporter: despite the gains, leisure and hospitality is still down more than 1 million jobs from the february 2020 level. virginia restaurant owner tony stafford says he just can't find enough workers. >> it's tougher than two years ago, a year ago, you know, even six months ago. >> these are the areas that need to see more help but people are not going there. >> reporter: the salon industry which lost long-time stylists in the pandemic is having trouble staying a cut above. >> if we have jobs for every single one of our students, which we likely do, we still cannot fill the need or the demand in the industry. >> reporter: experts say this overall healthy jobs report gives the federal reserve reason to continue its aggressive rate hikes this year. >> we must see inflation come under control, and the fed's tool of raising interest rates may be a blunt tool, but it's probably the best one we have. >> reporter: consumers are seeing some relief in the system. mortgage rates dropped this week and the moment that bolt struck near a tree in lafayette square. the fourth person who was also hit is still in critical condition at a hospital. the victims were taking shelter under a tree during a pushed to the east. it is going to remain so through the weekend as this area of disturbed weather out of the pacific is going to be getting a little bit closer to the coast keeping the cooler than average temperatures in place. decrease the noticeable mugginess which was slightly better today but still enough moisture for some clouds overhead. been streaming throughout the day. temperatures right now this is unusual for august, usually we see a 30 to 40-degree difference between temperatures near the water and farther inland. instead, it's 10 degrees between 69 in san francisco and 79 in san jose. really comfortable august temperature for inland portions of the bay area. we are going to see fog and low cloud cover spreading into the inland valleys tomorrow morning. the fog shows up in bright white. the cloud cover is the duller shade of gray. going to see more in the form of low cloud cover as opposed to fog sitting at ground level by early tomorrow morning. whatever is out there in the form of gray skies will retreat quickly. back to the coast probably 10:00, lunchtime at the latest with lots of sunshine the rest of the day and a notch lower on the muggy meter. tomorrow morning a mix of upper 50s and low 60s. normal lows in the mid-to-upper 50s. we will be slightly above normal for this time of year. high temperatures close to normal around the bay area and close to normal in san jose but below average in the east bay and the north bay tomorrow afternoon. you are still going to reach up to the mid-60s on the coast, 70s down the peninsula and the south end of the bay with temperatures farther into the 80s. farther inland in the santa clara valley, low-to-mid 80s in august is fine. temperatures inland in the east bay mostly in the low-to-mid 80s. average high in concord 88 degrees. low 90s from fairfield to brightwood. instead you will be in the middle portion of the 80s tomorrow afternoon. upper 60s in san francisco. upper 60s and low 70s for oakland and the east bay. mostly 70s for the inland part of north bay until you go farther north. even inn in north bay until you go farther north. even in in mendocino and lake county also. with the cooler inland temperatures the fire danger is going to be relatively low. unfortunately, it's going to be not zero, but that's never the case this time of year. we are going to see the highest numbers that around a three or four tomorrow. this is unusual. the commute is not highlighting the higher elevations spots for elevated fire threat. usually when we see the numbers this low there are a couple of trouble spots. not seeing that tomorrow. similar conditions on sunday. looks like a nice weekend overall. temperatures aren't going to change a lot into early next week. a little baby warmup for wednesday and thursday. temperatures warming up a few degrees but only a couple degrees above normal the middle of the week and drop down to almost exactly average high temperatures a week from today and again that monsoonal moisture is leaving us with a muggy feel in the air will decrease through the weekend. >> perfect for people at outside lands. >> whatever outdoor activities you have, go
